publicly saying your dead mother was paranoid is a major slur.

Bashir’s forgeries may well have contributed to Diana’s poor mental health and the further breakdown in D&C’s attempts at coparenting. William did nothing wrong by pointing that out, given he and Harry are probably the two people most affected by it. He was 13 when the documentary occurred, so certainly old enough to remember how his mother’s mental health was.

As someone who has suffered poor mental health in the past, I find your characterisation of a mental health condition as a “slur” really quite offensive. You wouldn’t claim that stating someone has cancer is a slur. So what is so offensive about having a mental health condition?

ajandjjmum · 16/12/2022 18:10

Totally agree @JemimaTiggywinkles

I didn't think being open about MH issues was a bad thing now - I thought it was positively encouraged.

Eh? Keep calm, and carry on. The show must go on, keeping up appearances and all that. Do what she does best. Hardly surprising, is it? Considering the royal family is all about show, and little else.

Don't you think the charities involved in the carol service benefitted? Don't you think having a beautiful Christmassy carol service lifted the spirits of all the people attending?

Don't bother answering, I've had enough cynicism for one day.

That's as nice of photo of Kate.
I definitely think she's so uptight with a stick up her arse.
She couldn't even give her sis in law a warm hug when they first met.
Weird woman she is.

Judging by the way her dear sister in law has stuck the knife into her and William since the 'divorce' her instincts were entirely correct.

Kate's response to husband's affair was keep focused on the prize of the crown. Doormat and grasping response. He married a non-aristocrat because a woman with an aristocratic lineage would not put up with his philandering. Kate will as she is a social climber and sees the prize of the crown as the ultimate affirmation of success. As does her mother. Very challenging to respect her shocking work ethic also.

Do you think putting something down on social media makes it believable? What are your reliable sources? It's called gaslighting

GoingtotheWinchester · 16/12/2022 18:37

@Blossomtoes the evidence is pretty bloody compelling 🙄.

@lookluv Except William has publicly criticised Diana in public. That really was not nice. I know the Royal Family hate her, but sad to see him joining in.

In what way has William criticised his mother? Can you post a link?

purpledalmation · 16/12/2022 18:42

Spambod · 16/12/2022 12:43

Kate had it far worse than Meghan. She was chased and targeted as were her family. They broke up because of it. I think they got back together because Kate wanted to marry William more than she hated the life. I thinks he knew what she was in for and took it on. Cressida dumped Harry when she saw what was expected of Kate apparently.

I think she also realised what a dick Harry was.

Nameychangey2022 · 16/12/2022 18:50

I think all this infighting is great for the royal family..it's making them all feel so relevant to the British public by having them in the papers constantly..

The truth is it is also keeping the real story out the spotlight. Prince Andrew paid for sex with minors who were trafficked for his (and others) pleasure by the Epstein's..he abused his position.. he should be at her and his majesty's pleasure right now...IN JAIL!

Who gives a damn about boring Kate and moany Meghan when there is an actual living breathing criminal, a child sex offender happily living it up within the royal family with the money we all contributed to the establishment..why isn't their outrage in the papers? Why are they selling more copies by printing the tripe about the two women and she said/she said? Suits the establishment for it to take away attention form Andrew so he can quietly slip away undetected and forgotten. Oh and serial adulterer king Charles, let's not forget. And yet Meghan is the narcissist...? 🤨

Remember when the photos of her sunbathing without her bikini top were published. Kate and William were on a foreign tour and she turned up next day smiling, her face betraying not a trace of any negative emotions
Imagine thinking being a robot and shunning all emotions is healthy. I hope you never had kids, particularly girls, if you think grin and bear it should be the default 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Not a robot, clearly. Just someone who decided not to show how upsetting it was to have topless photos taken without consent and just put on a brave face the following day. She's a better actress than Meghan that's for sure. Can you imagine if they'd done this to her? You'd never hear the end of it. 🤣🤣🤣

purpledalmation · 16/12/2022 18:59

Bluekerfuffle · 16/12/2022 16:58

I get the impression that William and Kate get on very well and feel extremely comfortable with each other. With Harry and Meghan, my impression is that he is besotted with her and she’s besotted with the fame and status that came with him.

Sums it up really!

See now I don’t get this. There are rumours that W has had an affair. Which people like you automatically believe. But then the same people will say that the rumours about H&M aren’t true and we’re stories planted by W&K etc. How can you believe one set of rumours blindly with zero evidence and not another set?

There’s no evidence W has had any affairs, all there is is a fall out between K and one of her mates and now everyone is accusing her mate of sleeping with W. And people blindly believe it. I don’t get it at all. I don’t get why they’d blindly believe any rumours about H&M either. It’s all just salacious gossip made up by bitchy people online who swear it’s true because a friend of their aunts dogs breeders mums hairdresser who once saw K in Knightsbridge says it’s true. Or the papers. Who have never lied about anything huh?

KateBain · 16/12/2022 19:34

It's so funny how people project these details onto strangers. You have no idea how she manages her emotions or what kind of person she is

True. I'm giving my impression of her. And I bet it's correct.

She's a white woman with three children

What's her colour got to do with this?

Who said she suffered from poor mental health? The RF? They would wouldn’t they?

As for being offended as Ricky Gervais said ‘You have the right to offend and be offended but you don’t have the right to never be offended’.

I know which brother I’d rather be married to!

Benjispruce4 · 16/12/2022 19:57

That is, one who is brave enough to stand up to hundreds of years of tradition because he knows what is right. Go H!

Benjispruce4 · 16/12/2022 19:56

I know which brother I’d rather be married to!

100%

The one who cared about my mental health.

The one who put our children ahead of salivating press.

The one who was willing to learn from the mistakes of the last rather than just hand them down to the next generation.

He came across as a good husband and father.

Her colour is relevant because of the coded racism in many posts and media articles pitting her against Meghan.

Kate has 'class', Kate is from a 'good happy family', Kate 'respects tradition' and is a 'natural beauty'.

It's a dog whistle.

ThighMistress · 16/12/2022 22:33

As usual, Kate has done nothing. She is good at not putting a foot wrong. Kate comes across as uncomplicated. And always looks stunning.

But I am starting to question if someone who does nothing is worthy of claiming the Crown (a justice symbol) for her husband and children?

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing.

How can Kate defend the faith when she follows the line to never complain and never explain?

Faith numbers decreased during QEII’s reign. So we do know that never complain and never explain is not a good strategy for defending the faith.

ThighMistress · 16/12/2022 22:33

She did nothing while her sister in law and nephew were the target of racial abuse in the media, which led to the vilification we see among the public (including on this thread), which at its most extreme resulting in credible death threats.

She did nothing. In fact she benefited by looking like the 'good wife' by comparison while Meghan was repeatedly slammed for doing the most mundane things.

Sometimes doing nothing is a really shitty thing to be doing.

If she had even just gone for a walk with Meghan linking arms and smiling it would have helped.
