@Janieread I’m not sure people would connect the crown court with the idea of the royals and justice though? Maybe it’s just me. I see them as a symbol of deep INjustice!

That is the fault of the modern monarchy who have sought to please the fickleness of people and the press rather than defend the faith. ‘Defender of the faith’ is a title royals hold because of the Crown’s connection with justice. Justice must be defended against injustice and faith plays a part in that because the oaths sworn within the justice system become meaningless if people lack faith in justice and fairness.

I see them as a symbol of deep INjustice!

Which would mean the British Royal Family have lost sight of what the Crown is really about. They take their claim to the Crown for granted.

Like I said, people do wonder if God sent the pandemic. Corona is Latin for crown and may have been a strong clue that God is angry at the royal family for making a mockery out of the Crown. Does Corona virus symbolise that the crown is unwell?

You must be outside UK. Otherwise you'd be very aware of the huge impact the royal family has on the charities they founded and support.

|Google "The Princes Trust" "Save the Children" "Carers Trust"

And The Duke of Edinburgh award.

@Inspecto you don’t believe that Covid was a punishment from god on the royals though? 😄😳

Its not the MODERN royals - the royal family have been never been a symbol of anything other than injustice. Their despotic reign in times gone by was far worse than the embarrassment of idiots that we have in Buck House now.

None of us know what God is up to. Mysterious is that God figure.

But it is interesting that the pandemic’s name was not lost on people. If God wants to say “this could be me”… then Corona is the right word to associate the pandemic with because it means Crown. A cryptic way of saying the crown has a virus.

GoingtotheWinchester · 16/12/2022 15:07

I genuinely can’t decide if you’re being serious 😂. God obviously didn’t name the pandemic and it was global so clearly nothing to do with our royals 😄.

Janieread · 16/12/2022 11:02

Yes. They absolutely skewered her family because they saw them as nouveau riche. Doors to manual Carol, Pippas bum, drug dealing uncle, Waity Katie.

I’m old enough to remember it as it was happening. It was extremely ugly. Even the comments about her brother who it turned out is severely dyslexic and doesn’t have the best of mental health.

Mummyford · 16/12/2022 15:09

Inspecto · 16/12/2022 10:49

The modern monarchy’s approach to the Crown, maybe. But the Crown has traditionally been the symbol of justice. As @Janieread says, it is “Crown Court”. CPS stands for Crown Prosecution Service.

A lot of people were wondering if God was behind the pandemic. One clue was that the Latin for Crown is ‘Corona’ (it’s the root word for Coronation). If I were God, I too would be angry at the mockery made of the Crown.

The royal family are merely claimants to the crown. God can also say “no” if claimants are deemed unworthy.

I haven't RTFT but @Inspecto that's one of the most batshit posts I've seen in a very long time.

You do know that the virus that caused the pandemic is one of a family of previously known viruses, named coronaviruses due to the spiky projections on their surface which resemble a crown, right? Not because God was angry that people were mean to Kate.

Obviously you know what God’s up to. I don’t know what God is up to, but I think it’s fun to wonder.

I have heard and read a lot of theories. If anyone is capable of causing a global pandemic then I think it’s fair to say it’s God who has the capability.

Our royals are the family whose crown (it’s that word again) is comprised of most of the world’s riches and jewels. Our royals were head of the empire on which the sun never sets; that’s a lot of globe.

India, for example, is a republic now because our royals got rid of their royals. So who knows?

elfies · 16/12/2022 15:19

I think Kate suffered injustice far longer than Megan did . Not colour prejudice but Class victimisation , her family too . Harry saw this happening and thought of Kate as a 'sister', so must have seen the injustice . Why then is he making her life a misery by pointing the finger at her now . Harry you're just as two faced as your other half and deserve all that comes to you .

GoingtotheWinchester · 16/12/2022 15:23

@Inspecto i know god doesn’t exist so I guess he’s not up to much in my world except being used as an excuse for many more injustices 🤷‍♀️.

vera99 · 16/12/2022 15:24

There's nowt as queer as folk as they say....

FrippEnos · 16/12/2022 15:27

Where is the heroism in modern monarchy? I’m going back to the history books when royals had a backbone and used their god-given voices for something meaningful. Crowns were once earned by the heroically worthy, so do not act surprised if it becomes a requirement once again.

There is some serious denial going on there.

I tend to agree with the first part of your post and not the second.

When Harry saw Meghan being treated like shit, he made a statement to the media asking them to stop.

William, saw it happening to Kate for years, and deltoid by and watched.

This idea of never explain and never complain doesn’t cut it when it comes to the media, fed by the frenzied public mind you, slaughtering the characters of women associated with the RF.

William could barely hide his contempt for the press throughout his life but did precisely nothing to stand up for the woman he brought into the firm. I’ve no time for him or the way he wheels out his kids for public appearances nowadays when it suits him. Harry hasn’t behaved well either but as usual the public’s dislike and even hatred (which is actually unhinged tbh) is towards the women.

Hmm this is interesting. Makes me wonder if Harry is some bleeding heart who can't help but save the underdog. It's a good quality but can also make someone susceptible to manipulation.

On another hand, perhaps Harry feels betrayed/disappointed by Kate then and thinks she should've taken Meghan as her sister the way he did in her own time of need?

Pismascrescents · 16/12/2022 15:32

H and M have a right to tell their story.
The RF have a right to react how they want to. There is no question that Meghan was savaged in the press. IMHO that was as much to do with class as colour.
There is also no question that any publicity is better than zero and we are all watching Kate’s reaction to H&M; whereas if it was just a normal day we wouldn’t even register another public appearance. H &M keep them in the news- pick a team and let the battle commence.

Interestingly, perceptions on American sites are far more pro Meghan and positive towards H&M.

I hope they all have a Happy Christmas.

Or one that's not having to deal with racism.

In what respect? Having your looks, attitude and background commented on constantly?

Itschristmastimeinthecity · 16/12/2022 10:52

That's as nice of photo of Kate.
I definitely think she's so uptight with a stick up her arse.
She couldn't even give her sis in law a warm hug when they first met.
Weird woman she is.

I don’t hug.

I certainly wouldn’t hug my BIL girlfriend on first meeting and I would be quite put out if they tried to hug me.

I don’t think we should be criticising any women who applies boundaries on their personal space.

randomusername666 · 16/12/2022 15:38

If all this stirring up and airing of dirty laundry was happening in YOUR family, mumsnet would be urging you to go NC or LC, get on with your life with your own family unit, focus on the people who support you, don't respond or feed the beast and don't retaliate. Hopefully this is what Catherine, William and the rest of them are doing with regards the purile stuff H&M are coming out with.

Their approach is very unprofessional at best and deliberately spiteful at worst. They know the RF probably won't respond - apart from something like the Queen's brilliant 'recollections may vary'.

I don't know whether what H&M are saying is actually true or not, none of us knows that. Some of it is ambiguous and they're not making many friends or influencing the right people with their approach.

I wonder what their aim is?

batshit

Didn’t they think it was bats 🦇 at the source of the pandemic? I agree that bat has done some shit. Batshit is probably apt. 😂

I’m having a bit of fun wondering.

And no, I don’t think it’ll be something as shallow as people being mean to Kate. It’s probably something our tiny human brains haven’t got the capacity to process.

@PicturesOfDogs publicly saying your dead mother was paranoid is a major slur.
It is the official Royal Family line. Diana was mentally ill, she did not know what she was saying when she criticised the Royal Family. She was totally paranoid and thought everyone was plotting against her. It is a way of rubbishing everything she ever said.

Youwhatnowffs · 16/12/2022 15:41

Just thinking about it - how many times on this site is the advice trotted out to “just smile and wave” when dealing with difficult individuals to avoid causing further drama!!! And here so many of you are castigating someone for doing exactly that ffs 🤦🏼‍♀️

I agree.

They were terrified Charles and Camilla wouldn’t be accepted after the Queen died. That is the only reason William said it. It was propaganda for Charles at the price of his mother.

SnowlayRoundabout · 16/12/2022 15:45

Silence is certainly the best strategy for dealing with H&M. Let's hope they will now feel they've had their say and give us a rest from all the moaning.

It's only a slur if it's untrue. It's difficult to characterise some of what she said in any other way.
