Can Charles remove Harry's 'prince' title

gottogo23 · 10/12/2022 12:47

I've noticed that the Removal of Titles Bill is going through Parliament and people have been talking a lot about Harry and Meghan losing their titles. Does this just refer to the Duke and Duchess titles, or does this also include stripping Harry of being a prince?

Racism. Slavery.

Wat's the difference between the RF and BNP?

That won't go down well with the Royalists on here

The Palace released a story that William had an IQ test after he left school and his IQ put him in the genius category.

Interesting - can you link to your source? I think I read somewhere that after copious amounts of research

'It always amazes me some people think Harry and Meghan should align what they are doing with what the royals are doing. They are nothing to do with the Royal Family and their press office and official engagements. THey can do what they want.'
If Harry and Meghan are nothing to do with the rf, why are they using their titles and association with the rf to make money? If they were nothing to do with the rf it is highly unlikely they would have earned a sou from their prodigious self aggrandisement.

Sigma33 · 12/12/2022 17:09

Did they? How funny?

I didn't see it - can you link?

Yes, link please. I have a strong suspicion that the person in the Royal Family with the highest IQ is the Duchess of Sussex.

Coxspurplepippin · 12/12/2022 17:20

Oops - I think I read somewhere that after copious amounts of research Grin, Meghan MArkle was declared to be the cleverest royal.

But there was a story earlier that put William in a genius level of IQ at the time he was leaving school.

antelopevalley · 12/12/2022 17:22

@Coxspurplepippin I read that too. With Philip near the bottom and Harry one point lower than Philip.

That's fine - I am not a Royalist.

But then, if you read my post, I am not trying to justify keeping RF titles while being publicly appalled by their racism and connections to slavery.

Whereas H&M are being shocked (SHOCKED, to find gambling... Casablanca is a favourite film!) to find out the connections, but also holding on firmly to the titles

Coxspurplepippin · 12/12/2022 17:23

So no source for the Prince William story then?

What's all that to do with the price of fish?🙄

antelopevalley · 12/12/2022 17:26

The story link says William is very bright. Why are you being funny?

All I can read on there was that William tested higher than Harry on intelligence tests for Sandhurst (no shit Sherlock). Is that what you mean?

How convenient that you couldn’t find a link to back up your claims. And that the link you did post was absolutely nothing to do with the claims you made.

Well I guess I'm more Royalist than Rupublican but even I don't give a shit!

@Coxspurplepippin I read that too. With Philip near the bottom and Harry one point lower than Philip.

I find that very hard to believe. Philip was known to be a voracious reader, with significant knowledge on a wide range of subjects. In addition he spoke several languages. He definitely had intellectual interests, which are hard to sustain without a significant degree of intelligence.

My example (which you won't read because I might be sarcastic, so I'll paraphrase), was about keeping a hypothetical award connected to the BNP if you discover that they are vile racists, because you have done all the wonderful charity work stated in the award (which you later discovered they only gave to white people who helped white people) and therefore you deserve it.

in the same way, H&M have decided to continue to use their titles, despite being awarded them by an institution based on slavery and racism.

Which does make some people wonder how much they are truly opposed to a history of slavery and racism when put against the privilege (and money) the titles continue to bring them?

JustLyra · 12/12/2022 17:34

I’ve never heard the William IQ genius thing.

If they were ranking them then I’d say that the Countess of Ulster would be right near the top. There’s not many in the family tug strike me as smart enough to be a highly regarded paeds consultant.

😂😂😂
not much to substantiate the 'lies to protect William'

@Sigma33 We all know what the lies are and that I would be deleted if I said them.

And I hope they keep using their titles. Whilst you know who does.

You haven't commented on the fact that it would take KCharles and/or an Act of Parliament to remove all Titles. Which ain't happening.

Even if they didn't use them, they will still be known... and in the US that would end up as Prince Harry and Princess Meghan.

antelopevalley · 12/12/2022 17:39

@Sigma33 One of the real issues on a discussion forum like this is its extremely hard to find links to news stories twenty years ago. I have a good memory and know what I read. And if I subscribed to a site that stores historic newspapers I could find it. But almost impossible without.

I know things that happened in the City I grew up in that were big news at the time, but you can't find anything online just by googling. Maybe you are young and don't realise this yet?

Wasn't he the highest placed all-round Navy cadet in his class? Of course being the nephew of Mountbatten would have helped (let's face it, Harry would probably not have been accepted into Sandhurst if he wasn't the Queen's grandson) but even so, he can't have been completely useless.

He was mentioned in Dispatches for 'bravery and enterprise', again, not a completely academic intelligence, but hardly stupid either. And yes, he was Mountbatten's nephew, but that can only swing so far

jeffgoldblum · 12/12/2022 17:40

20 years ago? , are you saying the lies are from 20 years ago?

2bazookas · 12/12/2022 17:40

Read the BILL for yourself.
