Why do people feel it’s okay to say nasty things about Meghan on social media?

Lilyyy · 08/12/2022 21:02

Why do people care so much about her and Harry’s relationship and are so intent on just being incredibly nasty about someone they don’t even know or really know the truth about? Harry must love her and be happy so why don’t the media and people on social media just let them be?

genuinely asking as I don’t understand why she gets so much hatred everywhere, must be really bloody hard for them to see it all the time. People act like she’s a murderer or something.

There have been complaints about her behaviour widely reported in the press - both the tabloids and the broadsheets. And also in Tom Bower's books. You don't believe any of it but to say it hasn't been reported is wrong. Taking just one example, her souring of relations with the Vogue staff when she tried to behave controllingly towards them. Again you don't have to believe this stuff if you don't want to but you can't say it doesn't exist. It very much does.

I am talking about in her previous life before joining the royal family.

The thing is that there have been so many obvious lies about Meghan and Harry that one doesn’t know what to believe. So when these stories come out about Meghan’s misdeeds one cannot help but to question the credibility of the accusations

@Lampzade "Stop deflecting"
Stop trying to change your story.

My MAIN point was that she worked on that series for many years and there wasn’t any accusations of bullying. In fact , those who worked with her said that she was lovely

You’re missing the point that on Suits MM was an employee, as opposed to being an employer, which is a huge difference as she was relying on keeping her job and being paid.

I have a cleaner and gardener as do most of my friends, who all seem lovely. Are we all also lovely to our cleaners and gardeners, or are some total assholes? I have no idea.

I understand what you are saying
However, obviously there were those even lower in the pecking order than Meghan .
Noone has a bad word to say about her.
I find it hard to believe that someone who worked for years could hide that aspect of their character for years.

It would be interesting to find out what the alleged ‘bullying ‘’ entailed. Most of what I have heard was her allegedly sending emails at 5am

meinteresamucho · 15/12/2022 00:07

Tom Bower's book does contain stuff from before the royal family though. A business associate from her pre-Harry days apparently describe her as one of the most unpleasant people he'd ever met and her former agents are also not positive about her and are reported to have said she was rude, demanding and delighted in humiliating people. Again, you don't have to believe any of this but you claimed there's nothing out there about her being horrible pre-Harry. There has been stuff written about it though.

meinteresamucho · 15/12/2022 00:23

The email Jason Knauf sent to the Palace HR has been widely shared by the press and apparently read as follows:

"I am very concerned that the duchess was able to bully two PAs out of the household in the past year. The treatment of X [name removed] was totally unacceptable."

"The Duchess seems intent on always having someone in her sights," Knauf added. "She is bullying Y [name removed] and seeking to undermine her confidence. We have had report after report from people who have witnessed unacceptable behavior towards Y [name removed]."

Historian Robert Lacey also wrote of the bullying in his book quoting a royal staffer as saying "Meghan governed by fear. So many people said it. Nothing was ever good enough for her.

"[She] humiliated staff in meetings, [would] shout at them, [would] cut them off email chains — and then demand to know why they hadn't done anything."

So I think it goes beyond sending emails at 5am.

Well whoever is lying will eventually be exposed. ……..

MarshaMelrose · 15/12/2022 02:58

Richard Eden does a good rebuttal of three of the claims, including information from the Palace

I only got as far as 2 minutes in - again it was ‘palace officials,’ ‘well placed sources’ . Why treat the public so contemptuously that they won’t name who is saying it. Who is the ‘palace official’? Who is the well ‘placed source’?

I stop reading /watching when they won’t name the ‘officials.’

Furries · 15/12/2022 08:49

Indeed, it is annoying when people won’t name who has said something.

Funny that because when Megs and Hasbeen refuse to mention any one specifically or specific facts I switch off also 😂

That is far less convincing than a long term job where she was working day in, day out. She's no right of reply and there is no context. I don't think anyone believes she can never be difficult and demanding at times, like many people in real life and certainly those in the public eye but nothing, nothing that deserves the daily attacks on her character, body language and relationships that she has online and in the press.

It's absolutely revolting. And I really hope she doesn't see it. It could push anyone over the edge and I don't know how you all live with yourselves. It's truly shameful. And I'm not saying I never say critical things but this daily vitriol is unconscionable. I couldn't read it, let alone repeat it. And no I don't read every word of these threads, but it doesn't take much skim reading to get the gist.

There is a journalist on Insta who is currently naming names. It’s quite interesting.

For instance they say that the “Meghan made Kate cry” was originally passed to the press after a Givenchy assistant called Victiria (that’s how it’s specifically spelled, by the way) carelessly gossiped to others around the time of the wedding. It fell into the unverified bucket - which I guess means that the paper rang the palace to ask about it and it was denied or brushed off. It was not verified until several months later when Melissa Toubati (one of the alleged staff forced to leave due to Meghan’s bullying) confirmed it. The paper then contacted Jessica Mulroney and she “inadvertently” confirmed it (by which I guess something along the lines of they said they were running a story and could she comment and she said something like “How did you find out about that?” - but that’s my speculation).

They also say that the “Three private jet flights in three days” story (or however it was phrased) actually came room Harry’s polo mate Nacho Figueras, who is a plaid ambassador for the private jet company, NetJets, that was prominently mentioned in the press story (along with PR puff wording that the company had been nicknamed “Uber for Billionaires” because it serves the mega-rich). NetJets had itself previously posted (and then deleted) advertising tweets showing Meghan and Harry boarding their planes.

Who knows if it’s true? It’s fun to see someone actually being specific amongst all these general allegations being thrown around, though.

Interesting point. Who else has no right of reply in this saga?

The nanny who Omid told us was sacked for gross incompetence
The various Palace staff members who have been labelled workshy and racist
Angela Kelly who was harshly criticised for not doing exactly what Meghan and Harry wanted
Melissa Toubati who it was said was to be not up to the role of PA and then was said to have been dismissed for gross incompetence.
Jason Knauf who told the truth and presented contemporaneous emails verifying his account.
The various bullied staff members who have all been dismissed as liars.
The unnamed person in the family who was alleged to have made a racist comment.

I could go on. Apparently, however, every smear against everyone of those people, doing from the person who is proved to have lied, is taken as gospel truth.

And yet the Palace refused to publish its investigation report into so called bullying by Meghan.

That was never going to happen. Having been involved in many myself, they are strictly confidential and generally full of personal data that’s also protected under GDPR. Inconvenient for you, I realise, but true.

@Serenster You know full well when the investigation started they promised to publish the report. You also know they could have published a summary. They haven't, probably because zero evidence was found.

Or they decided not to publish to protect Harry & Meghan. That could always change.

@BigBamBoom Don't make me laugh.

BigBamBoom · 15/12/2022 11:11

@antelopevalley Who knows what goes on behind closed doors, but I always thought the brothers were close and I would like to think that both William and Charles would look out for Harry as much as they could.
