It's landed - 3 episodes with what I assume is 3 next week.

What a shame that Piers Morgan warned her off Andy Cole when she came to London husband hunting. She could have been Cheryl Mk II and saved us all a lot of bother - especially the RF.

JemimaPyjamas · 08/12/2022 10:14

I agree, she has olive skin and can often look absolutely stunning (and other times, less so.) but I would never have instantly thought of her actual heritage.

Luckily, as it's mentioned approx every 3.8 seconds, I can't possibly forget now...

themessygarden · 08/12/2022 10:14

I watched the first episode as i was intrigued.

I really feel for Harry now, I am surprised to admit i could have watched more of Harry, he does come across as genuine.

I fast forwarded through the repeated narratives and even found myself fast forwarding when M was speaking, she comes across as so unnatural, fake and saccharine.. I feel for Harry and fear for how he will cope if/when their relationship does go belly up.

And hats off to all those who called out the 'fakeness' of their engagement interview, I fell for it / her, I thought she was wonderful, articulate, totally adoring of him, I was so happy for him and the RF that he had found someone like her.

Now we know why she did most of the talking and interrupting him, she was following the script.

It's about race.
It's a big seller for the USA and the younger generation.
A woman at the Kennedy awards ceremony said that the Brits are known for colonialism and exploiting many other countries.
It's a strong narrative.

clyspa · 08/12/2022 10:16

Nice footage of them playing / Charles being a dad etc - he says his childhood was full of laughter, happiness and adventure

Battlecat98 · 08/12/2022 10:17

It is sweet the photos/the house putting both babies down and then picking roses like you do. I mean she is beautiful but I don't know if I believe it. Harry keeps saying it's a Wednesday in March or whatever never sure of the actual date I am probably wrong but it feels like they have gone back and 'made diary entries '
MM crying whilst recording herself.
They do look in love.

JemimaPyjamas · 08/12/2022 10:18

@Maireas what do you mean? That it genuinely is about race, or this is the best selling point they have for all the terrible things that they went through and hence left over?

I'm glad he acknowledges that he had a happy childhood. I think his parents were both loving.

MistletoeandBaileys · 08/12/2022 10:18

It sounds to me like they are narrating a Hallmark movie.

The difference is I like those movies.

clyspa · 08/12/2022 10:19

It's the footage of them in the blue coats on the fire truck, the ones of them in army outfits, her greeting them with arms wide open on the yacht - all seen before

No early memories of his mum he reckons he's blocked them out. Remembers her cheeky laugh and advice if being naughty don't get caught

JemimaPyjamas · 08/12/2022 10:20

@themessygarden I am clearly rubbish at reading people as I watched their engagement interview and didn't think it fake, it seemed refreshingly relaxed as opposed the often more formal stuffy royal interviews. I would probably view it totally differently now of course, you can't unknow things.

Maireas · 08/12/2022 10:20

By that I mean I think that's the main focus. Why did it all go so wrong? I think that it's all going to come back to racism, it was in Oprah, in her podcasts and her magazine interviews.

Covetthee · 08/12/2022 10:20

Harry has hated the press since they outed his Nazi outfit, of course Harry is the only one who has learnt from his racist mistakes. No one else in the UK

happylove890 · 08/12/2022 09:54

she wanted to be single and live the single life and this gorgeous American was instantly smitten by the pale posh Brit from a totally different background. Am I the only one not buying the love story? Unless the love is about the love of power, money and opportunities.

Yup, got it in one. When the cameras are off I doubt she’s all loved up with him behind closed doors. When the spotlight is on her she forgets he even exists - she didn’t even acknowledge his presence when she got out the car in New York for that silly award, she was zooming to the entrance, in front as usual and him lagging behind holding the umbrella.

clyspa · 08/12/2022 09:13

Who is that not what!

Though actually,,,,,,,

I’m chuckling to myself at the image of Meghan looking at a picture of Harry on her phone and saying “Ugh WHAT IS THAT” 🤣🤣🤣

oakleaffy · 08/12/2022 10:22

35965a · 08/12/2022 10:12

So far it’s quite dull. “We are so so so so in love, our love story is the biggest love story ever” mixed with “the media and paparazzi are the worst” which we already know.

They don't look well matched, that's for sure.
Meghan has been with men before and left them for the 'Next big thing'...
Can easily see her leaving Harry if some old rich bloke comes along whom she thinks can help her become President! {If Reagan and Trump could do it, why not!}
The ''We are so in love'' narrative sounds like it is laid on really thick to almost try to convince the public {Who aren't remotely convinced}.

Maireas · 08/12/2022 10:23

I find it strange that they're sharing a lot of pictures of themselves kissing and cuddling. It's very intimate. They seemed to have a photographer wherever they were, even dog walking.

clyspa · 08/12/2022 10:23

Footage of him starting nursery: school - he's saying he remembers being swarmed by paparazzi but he looks happy little boy actually waving at them (not saying not a prob just saying he doesn't look distressed given the commentary)

Now the photo all with the Spanish royal family on holiday - he's saying rare to be on holiday without paps but to be fair the one with the Spanish royal is a formal photo all not someone following them or taking their pic in their garden etc

I refuse to watch their documentary on principle but I am interested in what's said so I've been following the live reports from Sky News. Apparently Harry said :

"I remember my family first meeting her and being incredibly impressed, some of them didn't know quite what to do with themselves.

"I think they were surprised. They were surprised a ginger could land such a beautiful woman, and such an intelligent woman"

That would all be fair enough (a bit weird, but OK) - apart from the fact that Harry dated Chelsy Davy for a long time. I think Chelsea is absolutely stunning! She's also apparently very clever too - she's got two degrees in economics and law. And then there was Cressida, another beautiful woman (don't know much else about her and cba to google). No one is denying that Meghan is attractive but this gushing over her beauty implies that everyone Harry dated before was a bit of a state and that's categorically not the case. Harry doesn't realise that saying this is a bit of a fuck you to his previous relationships, and actually bloody rude.

It just sums them up though really, doesn't it? They're never happy with things being good, it must be THE BEST. And when things are tricky, they have to be THE WORST EVER. Constant embellishment and exaggeration - and I think that's why they're so poorly thought of.

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 08/12/2022 10:24

happylove890 · 08/12/2022 09:20

he's also clearly over identifying with his Mother; lots of unresolved trauma from
her death. Often when children lose parents at the age H was when Diana died, they put the departed parent on a pedestal and harbour resentment towards surviving parent

Yes true. When Diana was actually not very nice in many ways. Affairs with married men, giving NO thought to her children when she went on TV and slagged their father off, endless streams of men through her life and, by her own admission, the way she used to scare the shit out of William and use him as an emotional crutch - I mean it’s hardly Sterling parenting is it.

Harry is definitely the little panting lapdog trotting along in her wake.

His 'duty' is umbrella holder and bringer in of money.

It's his family, after all that provided the means for it all.

I'm confused. On the one hand, Megan says she didn't experience racism until she came to the Uk? Then Harry says that he thought he knew all about racism, unconscious bias, etc, and had a handle on it, until he met and talked to Megan who educated him? Am going from Telegraph coverage

She surely hasn’t said she never experienced racism in the US? The UK isn’t perfectly anti-racist but FFS we aren’t a patch on the US!

Nevermind91 · 08/12/2022 10:28

I just feel so sorry for them, Harry especially.
He grew up with an adoring, beautiful mother and a father with no sense of marital loyalty.
His every move was documented and devoured by everyone.
His mother was literally hounded to her death by the tabloids.
As a young boy, a baying public and tabloid press demanded he and his family parade in front of the palace to see the floral tributes. He then had to walk the streets behind his mum's coffin to the most public of funerals.
It is no surprise at all that he wanted no further part in it. He admirably served his country in the army, and went far further into the front lines of combat than any other recent royal.
Good for him for spotting that his wife and children would be hounded just like before, and getting out of this spiteful country before another tragedy comes his way.

oakleaffy · 08/12/2022 10:08

Nor me!

I didn't either!

clyspa · 08/12/2022 10:28

Interesting - he's saying advice in family ' in the system' is don't react (to paps) to feed into it

So no surprise then how they have been then about MM?
