It's landed - 3 episodes with what I assume is 3 next week.

OP posts:
happylove890 · 09/12/2022 09:59

are the next three out next week?

Interesting that Meghan thought it was ok to go straight in for a hug with William and Kate, even though she'd never met them, yet barmen at the Kennedy prize event the other night supposedly reported that they'd been told they weren't allowed to look at Meghan and Harry.

"Interesting that Meghan thought it was ok to go straight in for a hug with William and Kate"

Sorry if lots of you have already said it, but there's the sly implication in M's words that the Brits are cold and, as W and K are the ones named in the sentence, a more sly implication that they are cold.

Queen Elizabeth got better press this century, but there was a time when Saint Diana was wonderful because she shook hands with an AIDS sufferer, without wearing gloves, and the implication was that the rest of the women in the RF were stuffy, cold, unloving cows because they wore gloves.

clyspa · 09/12/2022 10:08

Yes 15 dec I believe

If it the same style then it will all have been something for nothing

They have to address the point of who is the person who said about Archie's colour/ either walk it back (don't see how they can) or name. To not address it would be called out as is the most pertinent point for many and central also to their race claims about the family

I think they'll talk about;

  1. Money - including the whole man in 30s asking dad for money - assume this will be about cost of security
  1. Archie's colour - I think it may have been Kate
  1. Meghan crying/Kate crying - this seems to really bug MM

I don't actually expect anything about camilla and I think he won't go after William other then maybe repeat the stuff about being on diff paths which is true

I'm hoping they can explain the cutting off Tom. He was supposed to be picked up the next day so didn't those people go to get him and report back where he was etc?

Interesting comment from MM about the engagement interview. I'm not watching but reading the summary on BBC.Mishal Hussain has reacted saying 'that recollections may vary 'as she was 'asked to do an interview, did an interview' Straightforward.
Whereas MM has branded it as an 'orchestrated reality show '.Which is a a tad ironic given that the NF docuseries fits that bill ?

Didn't the Walses also do an engagement interview? If the BBC hadn't offered an interview for this special occasion, she would have been offended and blamed racism.

Why is she talking negatively about everything, her wedding, her engagement interview, her time meeting William and Kate, her first time meeting the queen? Victim mentality and narcism go hand in hand. It's clear for all to see. It's tedious.

She hasn't had a dig at Charles and Camilla yet, has she?

WillMellorsHips · 09/12/2022 10:18

After this is all over will there be silence ? Is that it or are we going to hear the same old forever and ever?

rumship · 09/12/2022 10:18

I tried and switched it off, obviosuly they are two pretty sad individuals that have the hold a cognative bias of the Dunning-Kruger Effect.

Basing any opionion on this docucomedy, needs to be taken with a massive pinch of salt, all staged and very deranged.

diddl · 09/12/2022 10:21

Surely by going after Kate they are also going after William?

They'll probably not go after Charles or by extension Camilla as should they crash & burn in USA they'd surely want him on side with regards to money/property?

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 09/12/2022 10:21

Going back to the curtseying in private. I think it is very odd, especially when it's your elderly grandmother or uncle or something curtseying to you. However, it's a bit like saluting isn't it? You salute the rank, not the person. So I guess for a family steeped in military tradition, acknowledging the monarch before greeting them as a relative is probably a lot less weird.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 09/12/2022 10:27

Thanks for the guidance, I found the curtesy bit at 37 minutes in to episode 2.

I don't think Harry is captured looking as bad as the press are making out. The sheer Americanism of Meghan's recollection did make me cringe though. It's a bit difficult to watch someone taking the piss out of your culture. (And, press aside, I've always thought that most of this has been about a culture clash rather than racism).

She also mentions Eugene, Jack and 'Fergie' in this anecdote and that makes me think how uncomfortable it must be for the royals to be around them, knowing that their private conversations may be relayed to the media.

RosettaStormer · 09/12/2022 10:32

FortheBeautyoftheEarth · 09/12/2022 09:45

LOL - Does anyone else see the irony of Meghan stating that the engagement interview as 'a carefully orchestrated reality show' from within a carefully orchestrated Netflix reality show?!

And nobody thinks those engagement interviews are completely off the cuff, of course they are rehearsed. It doesn't mean they are an utter fabrication. It's like preparing for any other interview - you want to get across the things that are important to you. It's less manipulative than what they are currently doing.

That’s what I was shouting at the TV when she said that!

BessieSurtees · 09/12/2022 10:41

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 09/12/2022 08:55

The curtsy was interesting to watch. Meghan revelled in how funny she was, she loved telling that anecdote. Harry looked uncomfortable. And she gave him a side eye in the end.

it would be interesting to see what a body language expert makes of it.

I agree it was uncomfortable on many levels.

I do get that she may have thought Kate, William and the RF may have been more casual behind closed doors, but she comes across as having no respect for the tradition that she was marrying into and resentful at having to make an effort.

Shame on the Sussexes for exploiting the Stephen Lawrence tragedy in this documentary. His murder changed so much in this country.

I thought this was all covered in the series? It showed the messages to him trying to make contact... 20 of them, he never replied, then two unpleasant and odd messages came in that looked like someone else was using his phone. Were they to send someone over 'just in case'?
He'd sold his daughter out, he'd rigged pics to sell them, I'm not sure what more they could have done if he wouldn't reply. They offeredf him the people he knew to help him come over. He didn't acknowledge that.

But hey, there are people on here who think TM is wonderful because that would just feed into the Hate Meghan campaign.

vera99 · 09/12/2022 11:25

DiDonk · 08/12/2022 12:12

I expect at some time in the near future she'll chuck him then they can both do individual poor-me documentaries about it to keep the pot boiling.

And then get back together like Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor for a global syndicated pay-per-view marriage with Beyonce singing and a cast of thousands.

If I was them I would be pitching scripting Thomas Markle - the reconciliation - a one off exclusive global event for the new year. Group hug big tears - TM gets a big bung and a launch pad for The Royal Kardashians Series One.

I can’t see that ever happening. They’ve burned their bridges now. I don’t think she would ever want to live int he UK again. Harry will be an outcast after this.

diddl · 09/12/2022 11:33

I wonder how many more times she met them & under what circs?

I think this is how they view it yes. I’m sure I’ve seen lots of footage of family members bowing/curtsying as they enter the room and then approach and go in for the kiss on the cheek etc immediately after.

Like you said, salute the rank then greet the person.

Actually never seen anyone say TM is wonderful. Just that things could have been handled differently .

Rinoachicken · 09/12/2022 11:54

In fact here’s a perfect example - Kate bobs a curtesy then goes in for a friendly kiss

We must have watched different docuseries.

They definitely don't appear deranged. They calmly and eloquently tell of the toxic environment they had to escape.

Kudos to M&H for taking that leap.

Good luck to them

That’s what I was shouting at the TV when she said that!

But the engagement WAS a carefully orchestrated reality show, one that she had little if no control over. Something that was expected of her by the media and public.

Re the docuseries, she definitely has some level of control in this, where she tells us what she wants us to know about her (thankfully, I might add)

There's definitely a difference.

Have they done Uvalde yet?

ShamedBySiri · 09/12/2022 13:17

Archie's colour - I think it may have been Kate

I highly doubt this. I think W&K were suspicious of M from the off, and probably were stand offish for very astute reasons.
Their concerns had nothing to do with race and everything to do with Hollywood actress on the make/Wallis Simpson.
Well founded concerns as it happens.
