It's landed - 3 episodes with what I assume is 3 next week.

I don't think she's done anything inexcusable either but she definitely is dismissive of royalty which I think comes from her sense of aggrievement but also I think an element of frustration or I don't know irritation that she couldn't conquer the role?

Hence the title stuff is perplexing

I think Chelsey and Cressida knew EXACTLY what to expect - and decided against it!

happylove890 · 08/12/2022 18:19

there's a tonne of inexcusable behaviour.
For starters, just going to the press to talk about his family when back in the day he released that public statement berating Paul Burrell for the very same thing! Hypocrites!

It was obvious that the kids would get an airing if the price was right...
Marketing them. Not keeping them private!

It certainly appears that they are only off limits until the right price has been paid. I'm actually very disappointed they have chosen to use them in this way it was one of the things I actually respected about them, their supposed desire to keep the kids out of the limelight and not have their images used.

I respected that, too..But flaunting them for millions..It was always going to be on the cards.
I wonder in 18 years time, the kids will be selling stories about how they were used by their parents...

Rinoachicken · 08/12/2022 18:19

And if you ‘don’t get’ royalty, maybe don’t Mary into a royal family??

Rinoachicken · 08/12/2022 18:20

Marry even!

clyspa · 08/12/2022 18:20

I'm also getting a sense of the people surrounding them - some just don't get his world hence I can see their advice can be off the mark which with their joint anger is why they have made some questionable decisions

OP posts:
clyspa · 08/12/2022 18:22

Now moving into psych of public pay for RF so why they feel they have a right to access

I agree.

The bit in the series where the relationship is made public, and Meghan's friends were saying to her "is he worth it", all I could think was, no! Which isn't a dig at Harry, I wouldn't be in Meghan or Kate's position for anything!

Exactly, Why profess to dislike the 'Firm' , yet be so desperate for 'Tidles'?
It just shows Meghan loves a 'Tidle' and will use it at every opportunity.

I’m yet to see any inexcusably bad behaviour from either of them.

I don’t think she knew what she was marrying into. How on earth could she have? I don’t think any one, man or woman, marrying into the RF know what it’s really going to be like and it’s ridiculous to suggest that they would.

The tabloid press and the likes of Dan Wootton and Piers Morgan have a lot to answer for how Meghan and Harry have been treated since their relationship was announced. They’re no more spoilt than William and Kate, probably far more less so, imo. I’m glad they’ve broke the mould and moved away, for their sakes. They look happy and in love and I think that irks a lot of people.

I don't think they look happy at all. I think they look bitter and vengeful. He looks completely out of his depth with her and who really knows who the real Meghan is? She's so affected and camera aware.

Two very sensible, intelligent young women.
Money and 'Fame' clearly wasn't what drove them as people.
They definitely chose well.

I bet they’re both massively relieved to have dodged a bullet.

Rinoachicken · 08/12/2022 18:33

The bit where Harry said the RF didn’t know what to make of her, suggesting they were in awe of her. He puts this down to her beauty and intelligence.

Forgive my skepticism but I would venture that their reasons for ‘not knowing what to make of her’ were different from those he’s assumed! 😉

I’m imagining her saying something ‘about out there’ over dinner and there following an awkward silence, eventually broken with a polite, ‘that’s nice dear’ sort of remark -
and he’s mistaken that for them being ‘in awe and lost for words’ 🤣

clyspa · 08/12/2022 18:33

Harry now into the royal rota - he says it's like this family is theirs to exploit / their trauma is their story or narrative to control

Some British guy commentating on this too / he's an advisor to archwell so they aren't completely surrounded by uninformed people

Footage of Charles talking about the press

Arufa back / think wills and Harry first under the rota system and there should be more introspection about being born into this contract with the British media

I would say it's worth remembering it's not just the British media

OP posts:
clyspa · 08/12/2022 18:34

We are getting repeated footage and pics now btw

OP posts:
clyspa · 08/12/2022 18:39

Now moved onto royal tour footage

James back now talking about the invisible contract with the press -the need to perform or play the game

I would say yes that's not unreasonable on a royal engagement surely?

Private time is different

James saying imagine performing for people who have published horrible things about your family, mother etc

FirstFallopians · 08/12/2022 18:40

OP you are doing the lord’s work here.

I was going to watch this later but honestly after reading your commentary I see now that would be a total waste of time. Sounds really dull, and no-where near as bombastic as we’d been lead to believe.

Shame. I love a bit of drama.

clyspa · 08/12/2022 18:42

Friends and Doria saying lots of intrusion, press made up stuff

I am surprised it's worth hounding a childhood friends mother but there you go

You have to sympathise with that

On the other hand what about going to the press when you want to? I wonder if they will talk about the friends interview on the dad

I got my arse handed to me on a plate for even daring to mention George. All I said was... he was a sweet gentle little boy and I felt a bit sorry for him having his life mapped out. Cue fire and brimstone from some posters.
Yet on these threads we can predict that H&Ms kids are going to grow up and hate their parents because they are being used by them. Shock

clyspa · 08/12/2022 18:46

Yep -so far it's not terribly new or surprising / I think they come across so much better than in the Oprah interview though

If it's more of the same and so is the book I wonder if that will be enough for them to feel they finally said their piece and will move off this time in their lives

So far nothing merits the RF doing anything but give them space and hope they've talked themselves out

OP posts:
Colcat · 08/12/2022 18:46

I wonder when she's going to talk about how the British people cheered their wedding. How Charles beamed with pride as he took her arm and walked her down the aisle. How people cheered them when they did engagements.

I guess she won't as it doesn't fit the narrative. Not a good word to easy about us.

I wasn't predicting, so much as wondering, the kids may well feel that they have been 'Sold' to make the parents money.
Netflix, for that obscene amount of money will be wanting their 'Pound of flesh'

George and Charlotte &c aren't hidden away, and then the 'Big reveal' in a Netflix show for money.
I don't have Netflix, never have had, so won't be watching it.

Was it David Olusoga? He’s great.

David Olusoga did have his own series on black Britain - a quick look on BBC iplayer doesn't bring it up, so it must have been 2020 (maybe 2021). If it is shown again well worth watching.

Also did a series of the Story (History?) of a house, where they trace the occupants of a house through a couple of centuries - and show just how widespread slave ownership (or investments in slave ownership) is/are

Colcat · 08/12/2022 18:53

Absolutely no way she hadn't ever been aware of being treated like a mixed race/black woman before she came to the UK and then it was all about race. Absolute bollocks.
