It's landed - 3 episodes with what I assume is 3 next week.

Agent saying he didn't know MM was bi-racial. She's saying hard to be auditioning actress when don't fit a box ..., can see that but like he says I think the box was white or Latina for the most part

IcedPurple · 08/12/2022 15:39

I think MM thinks it's silly at the end of the day and am sure many republicans would agree but we'd hope people don't sneer when it's you joining them

Some people would also say it's silly to go around California calling yourself a Duchess and having headed paper with a cute little coronet.

Furries · 08/12/2022 15:45

I’m saving reading threads until later. I’m waiting until it’s an acceptable time to have a glass of wine and then I’ll watch it. I may need a couple of bottles 😂

spuddel · 08/12/2022 15:46

That overly dramatic curtsey she acted out was utterly and totally horrific. How disrespectful she was, with a glint of glee in her eye. He is a piece of work sitting watching that when his grandmother is only just dead.

Vile people.

GrouchyKiwi · 08/12/2022 15:46

I've enjoyed this thread and the reporting on the BBC. The dude who watched it had some very funny snide asides.

I'm not planning to watch the actual series, though I'm sure I'll cave at some point when DH is out of an evening and I'm bored.

clyspa · 08/12/2022 15:46

Agent saying he'd pitch her for 'black' roles when he found out but often directors confused

Wonder if she'll talk about how there's less of a need to 'fit a box' nowadays where the racial identify of a character is irrelevant to the story etc

No. but she is alluding that maybe she didn't get acting jobs because if her racial ambiguity which is going to be hard to evidence as agent just said they all thought she was white

OP posts:
diddl · 08/12/2022 15:46

Posters seem to be getting from this that Harry let her down a lot.

I hope that that doesn't turn into her realising that he was never really there for her from the beginning...

WeWereInParis · 08/12/2022 15:49

He is a piece of work sitting watching that when his grandmother is only just dead.

It does say that all interviews took place by August 2022. The queen died in September, so he wasn't sitting watching that when his grandmother was "only just dead".

It was a ridiculous curtsey though.

I haven't watched it but have read myriad articles about it and yes this seems to jump out as being a real piss take. Initially H is very stony faced at this bit. She compared being at Balmoral to the Medieval Dinner show that you get in places like Florida. Cheeky bizzum.

clyspa · 08/12/2022 15:55

So now friends saying how strong snd resilient she was not getting acting jobs.

Am assuming this will segway into despite being very strong the U.K. was too much....

We are into suits so assume we are not mentioning her first marriage (fair enough)

Her agent is really not coming across well for me / he's now flapping on about his it was his first experience of a bi- racial woman character snd 'shoring how her family fits together' what? I mean great this was his first time but really? Knew no one in real life before what 2015 snd suits?

clyspa · 08/12/2022 15:57

I'm over silver tree so much

She's such a simple actor, always natural

OP posts:
clyspa · 08/12/2022 16:00

She was so trusting and didn't over think it and it put so many people at ease

They weren't making schindlers list

Sorry I just dislike this silver woman and her word vomit ( this is got the poster who believes I don't understand word salad )

OP posts:
clyspa · 08/12/2022 16:03

Oh silvers been primed

Now it's acting wasnt what MM really wanted to do as was boiling over with lots of ideas and was on track to do bigger things

Like go to the U.K. and have dates with whomever her friends could intro her to???

OP posts:
clyspa · 08/12/2022 16:05

She's brainy, she photographed with Obama, she's now launched the Tig

I am finding her very interesting actually - she's a hustler, she's out there doing her thing

OP posts:
Colcat · 08/12/2022 16:08

The curtesy was disgraceful. I don't know Harry could have sat there and watched such disrespect towards his grandmother. Despicable man. I absolutely despise him now. Loathsome and a silly fool.

clyspa · 08/12/2022 16:08

Abigail says she's a producer an activist

So we can see why staying in acting was already not the plan before Harry and the Queen suggesting she continues

The tig is successful (I don't know) and she is very much curating the images and living them

There's much I like - the artfully arranged flowers etc

It also looks exhausting!

I’ve only seen one picture on Insta , Meghan sitting with her head wrapped in towel , and she looks very young , like 19 , and very pretty , but I thought my god she looks completely different with her make up, like a completely different person, pretty with and without makeup but both very different.

pizzaHeart · 08/12/2022 16:11

She's a hugger didn't realise it's jarring for alot of people
yes, for me, and I’m not even from UK originally. I hate this sort of little digs. Did she not know that people are different? She wasn’t 10 y.o. by that time.
fair enough if she has proper complaints but not this.

paintitallover · 08/12/2022 16:11

Personally I think the first couple of programmes show the most despicable racism from the media. Just awful.

clyspa · 08/12/2022 16:13

Now we see her at the U.N talking about vaccine equity / she's much more in the forefront than Harry - I'd have to agree she's the driving force

I have seen stuff about how she does like control / hard to know what's accurate

OP posts:
pizzaHeart · 08/12/2022 16:22

MM says her parents co- parented well - the cynic in me finds her being able to recite a poem she wrote about her divorced parents when she was 12 a little contrived 'two kitchens, two phones, two sofas where I sleep' but I can accept I'm being harsh
you are a bit @clyspa Her Mum probably kept it in some sort of special box where you keep all these stuff. DH’s Mum has one with 2 articles about him. I keep DD’s little poem about Bonfire night from primary. My parents got all my awards letters from school and my literature book from the last year in primary.
There is a chance that she herself kept it, I had all sorts of s*t from school in a little box until I got married and started moving around with DH.

WeWereInParis · 08/12/2022 16:23

Now we see her at the U.N talking about vaccine equity

I remember when they did that, and people speculated they were wearing microphones. I had hoped (and maybe it will be in the next 3 episodes) that those events where they were wearing mics would be covered more in depth, showing us the work they and Archwell are doing. So far they just used 5 seconds from the UN vaccine thing, and it was just as an example of how they're both activists. I'm more interested in how they got involved with that, what was the outcome of that, are they involved in any initiatives on that front etc than I am in Harry's Instagram.

clyspa · 08/12/2022 16:24

Back to Harry - heart told him she's the one for him, head that's she perfect for the role

But why? He already knows the media, general royal constraints, her interests are all at odds - so why look to stay in as support act for his brother?

I'm still not buying how these discussions were not being had before they married

Proposal time / nov 2017

So met July 2016 right? So we are 16 months in and we've had the racism, weird family stuff already bear in mind

He's saying he wanted to do it earlier but needed his grandmothers permission so couldn't fo it outside the U.K. - why not? Why not ask Queen whenever and then propose whenever??

Is there a rule that you have to propose within a set timeframe or something?

Also Doria has told us she's met him but no mention of the dad or why he hadn't met him etc

This has always been a mystery to me as at this point they hadn't fallen out right

So she's roasting a chicken and he's got a magnum of champagne and she's already moved one of her dogs to the U.K. to live with Harry

That bit confused me as well, especially as William proposed in Kenya didn't he.

Mumsnut · 08/12/2022 16:30

The Mail has a still of him on one knee, holding a ring box. Blurry, so seems to be from a phone video.

Who does that though? Films while they are being proposed to? Not exactly 'in the moment' , is it?
