..but absolutely will be here for the threads to work out what has been said 😆

I have zero interesting in watching, not even seen the trailer, but I do enjoy reading people discussing it.

I haven't watched yet, but had areas of Times online. I am surprised that they have included their children in the documentary as I thought their whole reason for moving to the USA was to protect them. Now it seems they are happy to monetise them. Will watch as much as I can bear to later.

ThePoshUns · 08/12/2022 12:29

Sorry predictive text. Have had a read of Times online.

I'm not a fan of Meghan and Harry because they don't interested me but I genuinely don't get the hatred for them. They worked in the family business, didn't like it. Left the family business and got a new job. If any of my friends or family were unhappy I'd tell them to get a new job too.

What would you say if your friends publicly announced, without consulting the boss, that they would be keeping the fun bits of the job but leave all the dreary bits to others? That they'd be setting up a 'branch' of the firm in America, again without consulting with the boss? That they would 'collaborate' with more senior members of the firm on their own terms, without asking them if they were happy with that? And later complained publicly that the boss of the firm didn't continue to pay them months after they had flounced off?

Well I will be watching Netflix. Just not thus shit on Netflix.

Fandangoes · 08/12/2022 19:53

Only 10 mins in and they are completely going over the top about their ‘amazing love story’ it is cringe worthy!!

user764329056 · 08/12/2022 19:56

No interest whatsoever

flipflop76 · 08/12/2022 20:40

I definitely won't be watching.

JamSandle · 08/12/2022 20:45

I won't as I find Harry boring and Meg irritating 😅

ShamedBySiri · 08/12/2022 21:19

My daughter and her Uni friends are all glued to it. Sending me snapchats of clips accompanied by their howls of laughter.
I'm not sure that was the response to their true love story, the greatest romance ever, that they expected. 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️😂😂😂

ShamedBySiri · 08/12/2022 21:21

Sorry for the grammar fail....students laughing...Sussexes romancing.

ThePoshUns · 09/12/2022 06:20

They do seem to love themselves as much as they love each other.

The only people I feel remotely sorry for in this whole grubby situation are H&Ms children. Not so much now but once grown this will be deeply damaging to them I'm sure. I thought H was trying not to repeat mistakes?
He has alienated his children from their entire family and washed every bit of dirty laundry in the most public way possible.

Same here.
If l grew up then learned my grandad was King of England but l hadn't had the opportunity to know him or grow up as a Royal l think l might feel peeved. Although some might say they would prefer that.

Well, the whole 'being royal' thing could go either way.

But all the indications are that Charles, whatever his faults as a father, is a good grandfather e.g. Louis choosing to go and sit on his knee at the Jubilee, and there are other photos of him with W&K's three and his step-grandchildren that seem natural and that he is a fun and loving grand father. So it is sad if H&M deny them that relationship.

But then, even if they were able to see him regularly, perhaps Charles wouldn't feel as relaxed with them given all the tensions.

Firkinhavinalaugh · 09/12/2022 10:24

They’ve really chosen people to suit their narrative vs a balanced view.

only thing coming across to me is that it’s all of their own making and could have been avoided with a bit of common sense. (Who tells their new gf that they are meeting their grandmother -the Queen- whilst in the car on the way there????)

The “subtle” digs - prove how they really aren’t that bright….or perhaps just poorly advised (being Kind there)

PeaceJoySleep · 09/12/2022 10:53

Oh yeh, the dig about men in the royal family having to marry with their head not their heart....... does he think that that sounds wise and insightful, because it sounded bitter and bitchy to me.

It sounds a bit teenage to me, like so much of what they say. Very all or nothing, very over-dramatic. It reminds me of DD and her friends 😂

We're going to hit the ground running! then:
This ground is hard, it's not fair!

When anyone could have told them the ground was hard, why not slow down and plan ahead for potential (and predictable) problems 😀

And DD and her friends are always convinced that they have the answers to the world's problems - their 'answer' being incredibly simplistic, trending on SM and not thought through, but presented as this amazing insight!

It's entertaining in teens who will grow out of it, slightly bizarre for people in their late 30s/early 40s

PatientZorro · 09/12/2022 11:08

I don’t have a Netflix subscription because their content was crap even before they got into bed with the Sussexes.

My brother has it and I was able to watch the only thing worth watching on Netflix over 2 dog sitting weekends (that’ll be stranger things). Sadly I think he might now cancel. His family is already bored with the rubbish content and I think the latest instalment of Sussex schmaltz will be the final straw.

Which begs the most pressing question - how am I going to watch the next series of Stranger Things when everyone has cancelled their crappy Netflix?? It’s a puzzler.

FettleOfKish · 09/12/2022 11:08

Won't be watching, and have gone so far as to hide it from my Netflix profile so their faces aren't being rammed down my throat every time I log in.

Sigma33 · 09/12/2022 11:11

Sorry @PatientZorro I'd offer you mine, but this has just given me the push I needed to actually cancel my subscription 😁I never watch anything, but DD does occasionally so I was letting it drift.

PatientZorro · 09/12/2022 11:14

Fair enough @Sigma33, can’t say I blame you, it really is a pile of rubbish - ST is the honourable exception!

CuordiMela765 · 09/12/2022 12:00

Well I am beginning to wonder whether I watched a different programme to everyone else reading these comments, as I watched it with an open mind and found them both to be fairly reasonable and engaging people.

I certainly could sympathise with their comments about racism, the British tabloid press and being hounded by paps. And given his background, I understand Harry’s urge to protect his family.

The comment about other Royal wives “being moulded” was more I thought about why they couldn’t accept Meghan - her being black, strong and already fully formed as a person - rather than being a specific criticism of Kate.

The only bit that I thought jarred a bit was when H was talking about his 10 years service in the armed forces making him more down to earth but perhaps his point was valid.

Maybe it’s because I live abroad and my view of H &M hasn’t been filtered through the hateful Daily Mail? I am not saying that to be deliberately controversial, but only it’s once you live outside the uk you fully realise how influential that newspaper is. I know who I would rather believe.

I don't know, I don't read the Daily Mail. My views on the couple are mainly based on the OW programme. Maybe you couldn't see that where you are?

WinterLobelia · 09/12/2022 12:35

My views are based on the petulant statement they put out on leaving and 'service is universal' or whatever it was. I did actually read that whole statement and thought they were 2 grown people throwing a very public tantrum.

I also thought that they might reflect in time and feel a bit embarrassed at their behaviour. I was wrong.

WinterLobelia · 09/12/2022 12:36

anyway. I think there was a typo there somewhere and what they meant was 'self service is universal'.

SirChenjins · 09/12/2022 12:45

Me! I can't bring myself to watch the pair of them, but I do enjoy reading about them, their great love story (so great it's up there with Anthony and Cleopatra, Dante and Beatrice, Pongo And Perdita) and their philosophical offerings to the world here on viper nest news.
