..but absolutely will be here for the threads to work out what has been said 😆

I have zero interesting in watching, not even seen the trailer, but I do enjoy reading people discussing it.

OP posts:

*confirm

Roussette · 08/12/2022 08:12

All those who say they won't watch it... how can you have an opinion if you don't? OK you can watch clips here and there but you'll only be seeing the worst bits the gutter press slather over for clickbait, you won't get the whole sense of it. Or you will just look at threads and agree with whoever posts on the side you are normally on without actually having seen it. That's normal for MN I s'pose....

But I suppose you might end up with teeth problems with too much gnashing!

PeaceJoySleep · 08/12/2022 08:12

No but I will listen to Dan wooten and Megan Kelly discuss it!

No but I will listen to Dan wooten and Megan Kelly discuss it!

They post the most horrible stuff about Meghan & Harry, both very biaised. It could be a 6 hour series about baby animals with M&H saving them, and they would knock it! Because it's Meghan and Harry!

GooseberryCinnamonYogurt · 08/12/2022 08:17

So far, purely narcissistic and indulgent.

No surprise there! Thanks for the sacrifice you're making!!! Grin

GooseberryCinnamonYogurt · 08/12/2022 08:24

It's a hard sacrifice for sure.

I think I'll watch it. I don't have an opinion either way on the immediate royal family I think they're pretty harmless, to me they do seem to try and do/say the right thing to please the public and keep their image (Prince Andrew excluded, I dislike him). However I am interested to learn more about the high up palace staff and what role they play. I always read stories about someone's aide or whatever offending someone else or someone leaking a story about another royal family member or someone not taking phone calls, answering emails etc etc but it never goes deeper than that. Are they all different 'teams'? It seems like they don't really work together and they sabotage each other.

Isn't "Courtiers" by Valentine Low all about this?

Discussion about the book was about how the Royals (not just Harry) and courtiers work together.

PS: I believe the numbers who say they won't be watching. People want to know what the key messages are (in respect of Royal dirty laundry) but don't necessarily want to sit through the rest. They also want to know what howlers there are this time. That's pretty much it. And you don't need to sit through 6 hours if someone can point you at the key sections - easy on Netflix. No ads, just scroll to the choice bits

vera99 · 08/12/2022 08:31

this is dross......

vera99 · 08/12/2022 08:32

poor old Harry

I won’t but I will read the threads. Lol

ditto 😁 their saccharine inauthenticity renders them pretty much unwatchable for me!

this. My gag reflex won’t take it.

TiAmoTiAmo · 08/12/2022 08:42

Why do they refer to each other as H and M? ugh

AutumnCrow · 08/12/2022 08:43

vera99 · 08/12/2022 08:32

poor old Harry

Really? I find him quite manipulative these days.

Mumsnut · 08/12/2022 08:43

"My gag reflex won’t take it."

😂

I cancelled Netflix earlier this week - I did watch Oprah as I didn’t want to form my opinion based on other people’s watching and what I found very annoying (it started off well and she was likeable and I thought what’s the fuss all about, she’s fine) literally no one has ever mentioned that I’ve seen. I’m annoyed by different things it seems. And I read transcripts for the podcasts and don’t really have an opinion on that.

but if I haven’t watched the doc, I’m not going to offer an opinion on it.

Now at the Greatest Love story ever told bit - all about lurve ep1 first half "his mother's son" as Harry says...

Readinginthesun · 08/12/2022 08:46

I find it quite concerning that Harry didn’t stop the filming when his wife was ( apparently) so distressed . Why would any loving husband want the world to see his wife in tears ?? OK she isn’t a snottery mess like lesser mortals but still .

I am making my own decision - I'm making the decision not to watch 6 hours of nonsense.

OP if you are subscribed to The Times, Hillary Rose is a columnist who will probably watch it and give a funny version of it, which is more entertaining than having to sit through the real thing as far as I'm concerned.

Poor woman’s already had to do the Meghan podcasts. I hope she’s getting a good Christmas bonus.

Yeah does that mean he believes he isn't biologically Charles' son?
I know what the expression means (takes after mum) but it sounded like it was used to hurt him before, sounded bitter and defiant when he said it.

I can't believe Meghan didn't know him. And I think she wanted to Say William when she was asked Harry or William. Harry was just suggested to her by the presenter and she was like 'Sure'.

caringcarer · 08/12/2022 08:48

I won't be watching it. I would not boost their rate figures.

LaMarschallin · 08/12/2022 08:48

I won't be watching because we don't have Netflix - generally don't watch that much television.
However, I would watch it if we did but I don't know if I'd manage all of it.
Started following the Sky link (thank you to the PP who posted it) and so far they seem to be reporting fairly objectively.

Listened to a piece on radio 4 which mentioned them saying their engagement interview was orchestrated - they (R4) said that it had seemed a fairly innocuous and pleasant interview and that a run-through was to be expected.
They also said that the sense of repression that Meghan felt on joining the RF came through and she obviously hadn't expected it.

TiAmoTiAmo · 08/12/2022 08:49

It is tedious to watch but I'm bravely soldiering through it so I have first hand account of it.

RoseMadderAsHell · 08/12/2022 08:51

No I won't be watching, I've cancelled my Netflix subscription. Seeing them really winds me up, but I'm OK reading discussions.

CuordiMela765 · 08/12/2022 08:53

I am going to watch it because I like to keep an open mind about people and form impressions of them based on my own opinions of them, not anyone else's. Also, MM wrote a personal cheque and donated money to a charity a family member is involved in in the East Midlands.

Whatever anyone thinks of MM , and I am neutral on the subject, I really loathe the way the newspapers in the UK have rounded on her; the constant bombardment of one woman is hideous imho and looks like proper bullying to me. And if you look at You Tube , there is endless nastiness up there about her.

Also, I do not necessarily automatically believe everything Buckingham Palace tells us. As an institution, they seem to think it's fine if they lie, but not anyone else!

I lived through the Diana years and until she wrote her book, most people thought that the rumours about Charles having a mistress were utter nonsense , and boy did that turn out to be true. I know Diana had affairs too, but she wasn't the one trying to bamboozle the public pretending everything was happy families. People forget that if Diana had not spoken up, she and her DC would have been expected to perpetrate that lie in public for years. A bit like the late Queen I suspect. But times have moved on. The RF can't say one thing in public and do the opposite in private anymore, not now everyone owns a mobile phone with a camera.

I wont know for sure until I watch it, but my prediction is that, with Harry not being the brightest, just as Diana was deceived by Martin Bashir, what H &M thought was "putting their side" ends up with them being manipulated by Netflix too. Ultimately with these things, it's all about the ££££ and $$$$$$.
