Awful story just broken on twitter about horrendous racist questioning from Lady Hussey to Ngozi Fulani from Sister Space at yesterdays VAWG event.

Lady Hussey has resigned.

People like her are smart enough to only show this side to those they perceive as inferior to them. She would never have dreamt that a black woman heading up a charity for abused black women would have the nerve to challenge her publicly. It backfired on her and her goose was cooked.

I agree. I think it was telling that she moved the woman’s hair out of the way to read her name badge. That in itself is out of order. She considered herself as superior, talking to an inferior. Speaks volumes.
I can’t understand why an elderly woman was helping to host such an important occasion. She isn’t a member of the family. She isn’t even an employee. She’s never had a job. She was a close friend of the Queen that’s all. Completely inappropriate. Makes you wonder if they are short of people to host .

There is just no credible way in my opinion that the timing of this is anything other than deliberate to coincide with the new mocumentary series and to undermine W&C.

Great play M&H PR.

This is up there with posters who claim Carole Middleton groomed Kate to go to St Andrews with the deliberate intention of ensnaring William. They seem to forget the little matter of him actually having to fall in love with her!

For this to have been a setup Camilla, the Palace and Lady H would've all had to be in on it. How likely do you suppose that is?

My taxes don't go to subsidise random Chinese people, so I don't worry about what they are saying, unlike people who have been trained to do this job their entire lives.

Oh well, there is really no arguing with anyone who thinks a member or aide to the RF in a multicultural country should be as racist as an apocryphal saying in another country!

You took exception to my sharing a joke tweet. I found it funny. So did Neil Gaiman and lots of others. You didn't. That's fine. We probably do not have the same sense of humour.

Can't you accept that LH was out of line and is a racist and the RF do have them in the family and rather than acknowledging and dealing with it - you make excuses for them. If it wasn't this event it would have been elsewhere and between the senior royals and life the timing of when they are caught / exposed is really up to them. The sooner they sort this out the less likely it is to embarrass them on an important occasion. time will tell and again people will be in denial with excuses as embarrassing as this one.

I don’t know what you said, as our responses were deleted. The pp’s offensive comments are apparently fine, though.

You fancy explaining @MNHQ?

So my post has been deleted because I stated MN clearly have not had any diversity training?

This weekend my 4 year old daughter has been called a "N" so yes I will speak out when it is clear that a forum's moderators have issues with moderating posts on race and ethnicity.

This week I heard as part of the UK's foreign aid budget we are still helping out some Chinese people in China. However it's been cut drastically since 2019.

mathanxiety · 03/12/2022 21:05

@RosettaStormer

She was formerly a lady in waiting to the Queen and since the accession of Charles was a Lady of the Household.

Both the old position of Lady in Waiting and the newly styled Lady of the Household are honorary positions within the Court. Ladies occupying these honorary positions were chosen because they were aristocrats, known to the Queen. Camilla has chosen a few old friends to support her in her new role and she inherited three of the Queen's Ladies in Waiting.

Literally all they do is accompany the monarch on trips to open supermarkets or whatever, and help mingle and chat at Palace receptions. That is why SH was at the reception.

AnnunciataZ · 03/12/2022 21:05

@RishisProudMum I was just agreeing with you but perhaps your post was deleted because you quoted another deleted post?

And @RedWingBoots there was nothing wrong with your deleted post. Disgraceful, MNHQ.

It’s honestly wild. There will be no rational explanation, either.

I’ve basically had enough and I’m just going to call them out on this nonsense. Every time. If they ban me, they ban me.

CPL593H · 03/12/2022 21:10

I don't get all the outrage about SH not recognising G H Bush at a reception that was put together quickly. People can and do make mistakes in these circumstances and no harm was done. I will say again that the situation with NF this week was different, very different and SH was totally in the wrong. If people can't see the difference and want to go on about a fairly innocuous shortcoming 30 years ago, that's not my problem. Concentrating on the very real issue that occurred in the last few days would seem sensible.

An oft repeated story about the late Queen when she was Princess Elizabeth, introduced to a dignitary at some gathering

Dignitary "And what does your father do?"

PE "He's still King".

Nope.

Having checked the system it appears your post was deleted as it appeared to minimise the racist offence caused by the comment made.

When anyone is felt to be dismissive of racist comments we would remove if the post were reported to us.

I’ve asked which racist comment I was dismissing and whose offence I was minimising. No response has been forthcoming.

I agree there's a real issue with this and MNHQ seem totally out of their depth.

AnnunciataZ · 03/12/2022 21:15

Unbelievable @RishisProudMum.

mathanxiety · 03/12/2022 21:16

@Janiie

She does have form for a spectacular lack of self awareness at Palace receptions.

Apparently she once asked President George H. W. Bush what he did for a living.
