Awful story just broken on twitter about horrendous racist questioning from Lady Hussey to Ngozi Fulani from Sister Space at yesterdays VAWG event.

Lady Hussey has resigned.

Any independent confirmation?

Independent confirmation of what? The palace has said she's been sacked. What more is it you're after?

A message from the Palace is not enough for you. Why is that?

hattie43 · 30/11/2022 13:39

It's all so bloody tiresome this .

CannibalQueen · 30/11/2022 13:40

I agree with that aspect - but the BBC BREAKING NEWS (big red square) simply said Palace Aide resigns over remarks, which seemed very odd, even for the brown-noses at the BBC.
It seems bizarre that people can still hold these views - but then they live in a very rarified atmosphere at the palace, don't they?

Yeah racism is tiresome for those on the receiving end. If that is boring for you then that is too bad.

CannibalQueen · 30/11/2022 13:41

Yup, try the BBC for an official statement.

Aspiringmatriarch · 30/11/2022 13:43

I'm sure she was a great help to Meghan. No racism there at all.

Bbc have been playing fast and loose with the red square lately. It's used for all sorts of no mark events.

I find it more annoying that they don't link the tweet showing the allegations in question. Even in a "This woman alleges" fashion.

I don't think it's that surprising, unfortunately. I work in a diverse charity which STILL has dessicated poshos on the board of trustees who come out with crap like this.

I was waiting for this comment...as if Lady SH resigning and the palace making a statement isn't enough.

DewinDwl · 30/11/2022 14:01

WTF
Where do they find these people? What has this Lady Hussey achieved in life apart from being the daughter of an earl and marrying a rich man? Why do the royals need people like that around them?

Sounds like Ngozi Fulani remained polite and graceful when faced with very persistent rudeness. LH's entitlement, ignorance and lack of self-awareness come through loud and clear in that conversation.

ChilomenaPunk · 30/11/2022 14:03

Oh I know who she is now. She was in a couple of episodes of The Crown in the latest series.

ChilomenaPunk · 30/11/2022 14:06

Bet she thought she was so well connected as to be untouchable as she could she anything she liked. Glad she was wrong.

PoinsettiaPosturing · 30/11/2022 14:07

I'm usually all for the royals but my god this is revolting. Bravo to the calling out of institutional racism and the disgusting manhandling of a woman.

CarefreeMe · 30/11/2022 14:10

I’m confused why she needed to know where she was from anyway??

Hopefully there will be a video of this for all of the ‘confirmation needed’ people.

boobybum · 30/11/2022 14:10

The Royal Family machine is racist (again) ….what a surprise 🙄

Doormatnomore · 30/11/2022 14:11

Yeah, no one has denied it happened so it happened. And of course Megan was subjected to much the same. I wouldn’t be breaking bread with people that pulled that shit, tiaras or no.

diddl · 30/11/2022 14:14

From the conversation it seems that that was all she was interested in knowing?

I mean "where are you from" could mean where were you born, where do you live/have travelled from today or in the context of the event, what organisation are you representing.

Why on earth not ask about Sistah Space when it was mentioned?

Jaxhog · 30/11/2022 14:15

It wasn't just racist, it was downright rude.

ShirleyPhallus · 30/11/2022 14:15

awful but not surprising

reports from the DM interesting though that say it’s embarrassing for wills and Charles, ususally they can’t blow enough smoke up their arses and it would all be Meghan’s fault

Rowthe · 30/11/2022 14:17

I'm glad people aren't making excuses.

NF gave her plenty of chances to back off and get the hint but she didnt.

Hobbesmanc · 30/11/2022 14:17

She was in The Crown played by the actress who played Camilla in The Windsor's. Married to Marmaduke Hussey ex BBC.

Rowthe · 30/11/2022 14:20

Mandu Reid who was also invited has confirmed the incident on her twitter.

Marulatree · 30/11/2022 14:21

No word on the matter from the regular MN royal watchers. Because of course the Royal households are surely not racist. That suggestion was just another one of MM’s lies, was it not? This report goes some way in discrediting that narrative so let’s keep quiet and hope nobody notices.
I’m delighted H&M voluntarily removed themselves from such a toxic and archaic culture. Those that believe that they are desperate to return and be accepted are delusional.

MajorCarolDanvers · 30/11/2022 14:23

Gawd that's horrendous
