The long awaited documentray is hitting the screen on December 8th:

What with the award in a few days and the book in January they're ramping up the game.

my view is that the royal family tried to protect m and h from the vultures out to prey on them as they did need protecting and Harry in particular is/ was naive but they threw this protection away in January 2020

That is the one thing the RF did not do. That is why they left and they have said it time and time again.

KP or the RF put out a statement saying Kate didn't have hair extensions, or botox but where was the statement(s) reining the press in on the ever increasing hatred for Meghan, that has now turned into a billion dollar industry?
Of course that will be refuted on here, and somewhere I had an article proving this to be the case, I am on a new laptop and need to find it!

An interesting article that should be read by posters on here.

pressgazette.co.uk/publishers/digital-journalism/coverage-of-meghan-and-harry-knowingly-monetises-hatred-says-labour-chris-bryant/

It's a big money making business the marketing of hatred.

Chris Bryant does his fair share of hate mongering. He's never off Twitter.
Bryant claimed over £92,000 in expenses over the five years leading up to the 2009 scandal over MPs' expenses.[22] During that time he flipped his second-home expenses twice. He claimed mortgage interest expenses that started at £7,800 per year before rising (after flipping) to £12,000 per year. He also claimed £6,400 in stamp duty and other fees on his most recent purchase, and £6,000 per year in service charges.[23] Yes whiter than white

Roussette · 07/12/2022 11:53

Ahhh yes... as normal derxa bring up something completely irrelevant and trash the source of something that is slightly more in favour of H&M. You obviously don't agree that the hate machine is worth billions then.

I have no idea why we are talking about Chris Bryant's expenses. Would you like me to list very many Tory MP's expenses that are FAR WORSE than this? Because I can.
Is this thread going to be about MP's and Minister's expenses now? Let me know. I have plenty of facts and figures on very many. Jonathon Gullis and Daniel Kawczinski springs to mind off the top of my head

You're citing Chris Bryant as a trusty warrior for truth and justice, that's why. He's forever attacking people.

sashagabadon · 07/12/2022 11:59

You also hear reports that m and h staff quashed countless stories about Harry over the years and Meghan too. Unflattering stories that the press would have loved to run. The first negative stories about Meghan were about the wedding and a falling out between the brothers. And then tiara gate , tight gate etc.
so I would argue they were protected but presumably wanted more. They are not protected now that’s for sure.

Serenster · 07/12/2022 12:16

Yes, Roussette, we know that’s what they say, but the blinkers have fallen now for many many people and they have realised the Sussexes are not remotely reliable narrators. It’s interesting to see their keen adherents still persist in thinking they speak the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Yes. He holds this Government to account as the Chair of the Standards Committee

Good. You call that 'attacking people'. I call it holding Ministers to Account as part of his job.

It's interesting to see keen dislikers persist in dismissing anything that has been proven, such as the billion dollar press hate campaigns.

He lied about the 'manhandling' by Therese Coffey in the Lobby. I think he also took an illegal photo there.

Some seriously rattled royalists here and the programme hasn't even been shown yet

What on earth are royalists so worried about ?

MarshaMelrose · 07/12/2022 12:46

Hasn't Chris Bryant had to apologise on multiple occasionsfor making claims that were not true. Wasn't it him that published photos (against the rules) to claim that there was bullying in the lobbies? A claim the speaker investigated and ground to be definitely not true, at the same time rebuking Bryant for breaking House rules. Didn't he have to apologise to a court for lying? Didn't he get criticised be Leveson for lying and breaking confidentiality? Didn't he have to apologise to the House for lying? Isn't he chair of the standards committee but was caught up in expenses scandal of claiming rent whilst actually owning a house? Doesnt he want to add 'respect' tother code if conduct but he told the speaker to fuck off and stormed out of the House.

Is this the Chris Bryant that you hold the bastion of truth?

Yes.

He is formidable. And if you want to believe the Speaker of the House, Hoyle, go right ahead. Worst speaker there has ever been.

derxa · 07/12/2022 12:59

He is formidable. He's a ghastly attention seeker

MaulPerton · 07/12/2022 13:05

What on earth are royalists so worried about ?

Entering a world of fiction where what makes sense is decoupled from why it makes sense.

MarshaMelrose · 07/12/2022 13:07

Formidable? 🤔 I don't think anyone respects or fears him. He's just a confessed liar and cheat. I don't know of Lindsay Hoyle lying whereas we have it on court and parliamentary record the masses of times Chris Bryant has lied. So I know which one I'd believe.

I’d say Bercow was the most unpleasant speaker in living memory, but given your predilection for defending wildly unpopular characters while denigrating the dignified and conscientious, this probably makes sense

No , they left because they didn’t get the arrangement they want . Plain and simple . If The Queen had agreed , I am pretty sure there wouldn’t have been the constant moaning .

Ah Chris Bryant , that well known pillar of society !

BellePeppa · 07/12/2022 13:44

I’ve always found it weird how people will sell their souls for money even when they already have a ton of the stuff (looking at you Oprah). I’d hate to live a life just consisting of accumulating millions (or billions) instead of just enjoying the fortune you’ve got. H&M have got themselves on this hamster wheel of constantly trying to add to their pile at the cost of losing everything money can’t buy.

I agree. Looking at the footage from yesterday, she is completely at ease with it. Harry looks haunted. He knows it is wrong on a deep level. I don't know if he can carry on with it. Lots of Americans can't stand the celebrity machine. How would a pampered public school boy with his own demons find any meaning in that?

bakalava · 07/12/2022 14:16

Last night was their moment to shine but it must feel all kinds of wrong when it is not because you are a great writer or a great actor but because you sold out your own closest family. The burden is on Harry because it has become all about his family who can't answer back, not Meghan's family who can and do.

susan12345678 · 07/12/2022 14:19

Last night was their moment to shine

Apart from the Daily Mail, no-one seemed particularly interested. I didn’t see any coverage in the New York Times

Puzzledandpissedoff · 07/12/2022 14:45

Harry looks haunted. He knows it is wrong on a deep level. I don't know if he can carry on with it

Again, the wretched media will show whatever suits the agenda they want to push; however since there are two children involved here I'm not sure what choice anyone thinks Harry has but to "carry on with it"

I'm not going to speculate about the demise of a marriage, whether theirs or anyone else's, but nothing changes the fact that, if it were to happen, Harry could find himself in a bit of a mess

AutumnCrow · 07/12/2022 14:57

I suppose last night was something of a shit or bust moment for Harry. Hard for him now to think 'Better call papa, the King' henceforth if something goes tits up.
