The long awaited documentray is hitting the screen on December 8th:

What with the award in a few days and the book in January they're ramping up the game.

But maybe within the documentary it will be clear that it is the HP premiere. Maybe Harry attended? At this point it's just loads of photos sliced together and it could mean anything.

Perhaps but was Harry not still in the Forces in 2011 ?

Yes - he joined in 2005 and left in 2015

They are apparently taking over full leadership of Archewell themselves

what could possibly go wrong?

😅the plot thickens.

milti · 04/12/2022 12:17

Oops they lost the head of Archewell - wonder why ?

Who was the head of Archewell?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/12/2022 18:37

Mandana Dayani, Corona - apparently she'd been there abpout 18 months

I don't know. I'm trying think positively of alternative explanations. There must be a reason for it. Gabus has a good reputation, I just don't hink she'd endanger it over a crowd scene.

They say it was always just a temporary employment, which is what they about their use of a PR company.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/12/2022 18:44

There's a history of that being claimed whenever someone leaves, Marsha, though whether it's true or not I couldn't begin to say

Readinginthesun · 04/12/2022 18:47

I read that they can no longer afford high staff salaries . Obviously we will never know for sure however I’m not sure they have the skills to head up Archewell .

Badger1970 · 04/12/2022 18:55

It's like a slow motion car crash watching these two trying to make themselves relatable and bankable. I'm not sure which is bigger - their level of delusion or their egos.

I think that Netflix is going to be left with serious egg on its face if every single fact hasn't been checked and double checked on this. These two don't exactly have the best track record with the truth..and the gloves are well and truly off with the UK media. I'm not sure whether I'm dreading it for the level of media coverage or waiting with bated breath for the absolute shitshow it's going to be Grin

sashagabadon · 04/12/2022 18:58

It’s very weird to use photo’s from a Harry Potter premier in 2011 and pretend they are from something to do with Harry and Meghan. Both Harry’s but why do that?
netflik would know people would realise and it would be discussed.
was it deliberate? It can’t be a mistake or an accident and why the same related Harry name? There’s a billion shots of banks of cameras and Harry and Meghan would have authentic ones so why choose that one.
reminds me if James corden writing team giving him a Ricky gervais joke.

Going by what we've heard, I think Garbus will be very lucky if she comes out of this 'documentary' with only a stock photo to endanger her reputation!

I am in the latter camp 😅 no need to buy a book to watch the show. They are crumbling on both sides, for different reasons so who knows where we will be in 10 years.

Hard to know which of the huge number of threads this should best go on, but I note that Netflix have now amended the blurb about the series to update the completely inaccurate wording about “the state of the British Commonwealth today” that it says the series will cover. That has now been amended to refer to “the Commonwealth at large”.

Good going Netflix, needing a factual correction before the programme even airs. Imagine what the rest of it is like..

I'm still not sure what the documentary is really going to focus on but I'm very interested in the mentions of colonialism and the Commonwealth.

I think historians - proper historians - will be picking over any references to the history of the Commonwealth and the British Empire. I hope someone on the research side of things has at least read William Dalrymple's book on the East India Company and researched the involvement in the slave trade of aristocratic families like the Spencers.

Can of worms springs to mind. The money Diana left Harry was in large part from her her royal divorce, but some of it was actual Spencer money.

And now he's selling access to his marriage.

Michelle Obama is always intelligent and empathetic. I just wish H&M had taken on board her counsel. The main people they are hurting will ultimately be themselves.

Another photo has emerged . It is actually a cropped photo of Harry with Chelsy . Why use that ?

CathyorClaire · 04/12/2022 20:44

Maybe Harry attended?

Having been puzzled by the inclusion of a seemingly disconnected photo I googled precisely this and can find no mention of Harry attending. It really appears as though a rabid press photo has been picked at random although the fact it relates to a wildly popular and hotly anticipated event surely can't be discounted.

I'm not sure whether I'm dreading it for the level of media coverage or waiting with bated breath for the absolute shitshow it's going to be

On past form I'm going with the shitshow and claim my five pounds🤓

I don't do Netflix so I'll be depending on all these threads to tell me about the EXPLOSIVE things which are said.

I think it’s obvious from the look on Harry’s face and the hand dramatically held up in front of him why it’s being used.

I don't understand why they've done this - unless it's that there's no footage of them together getting harassed by paparazzi?

Only other option is to show he's been harassed all his life - which is true, but why not show the whole photo?

But then that's not fair to Chelsey who has been dragged into this debacle.
There's plenty of other photos of him facing the press on his own

AutumnCrow · 04/12/2022 23:57

I think it's fair enough enough for him to show he's been intruded upon by paparazzi ever since he turned 18, especially if that's why Chelsy Davey and Cressida Bonas - ended their relationships with him.

I don't know where he's going with it, though. Does he think he got thrown to the wolves as the 'spare'? Does he think 'Spare' = 'Lesser'?

The Harry Potter premier photo is a silly comparator as those photographers are not paparazzi. It's just a stock photo of a lot of cameras pointing at a celebrity line-up.

MarshaMelrose · 05/12/2022 00:46

I know Frogmore Cottage is a big present. It's a big cottage, frankly it's not a cottage at all it's a five bedroom detached house with off-street parking. But the principle is the same. When you give something to someone you shouldn't take it back if you don't like them any more.

Harry was never given Frogmore Cottage. It still belongs to the Crown. Harry leases it for 12 months on a rolling contract. The monarch wouldn't give away a building so close to the Castle. They'd need to keep control over it to reassure themselves whoever lived there wasn't a secret assassin. Oh, wait... Hehe.

I think it's fair enough enough for him to show he's been intruded upon by paparazzi ever since he turned 18, especially if that's why Chelsy Davey and Cressida Bonas - ended their relationships with him.

He split with Cressida Bonas because she was reportedly unhappy at being expected to pay her own air fare to his mate's wedding:

www.independent.ie/style/celebrity/celebrity-news/row-over-650-air-fare-sparks-prince-harry-love-split-with-cressida-bonas-30234646.html

I know Frogmore Cottage is a big present

He rents the thing but unsurprisingly there's a financial conundrum attached in that the much vaunted repayment for the refurb suddenly got to include eighteen months 'market rent' without actually increasing.

Maybe the big present was a magic money tree in its grounds
