Unpopular Opinion - William and Kate

EdaYildiz · 13/10/2022 21:27

Don't come at me, I'm sharing my unpopular opinion because I want to know what you all think but just don't see a spark between William & Kate.

Loved them since the day they starting dating way back when they were undergrads at St Andrews but I just don't see their connection in pictures and it seems a little forced when she has her hand on his back or when they do hold hands.

I don't expect them to hold hands and snog because I know they're mostly photographed whilst they're working but he looks bored and she looks like she's trying her best.

Does anyone agree with me?

What exactly would you like an apology for?

antelopevalley · 14/10/2022 22:16

Your personal attack on me.
Anyone with decent manners would do so.

Hilarymantelspencilsharpener · 14/10/2022 22:17

Which 'personal attack' is that exactly?

Hilarymantelspencilsharpener · 14/10/2022 22:19

In fact, you accused me of lying, so an apology from you would be nice. It's what anyone with decent manners would do, eh?

antelopevalley · 14/10/2022 22:28

Yes you did lie about what I posted.
I will leave you to this. No point in engaging with you.

Hilarymantelspencilsharpener · 14/10/2022 22:38

You say that 'I ALWAYS say we have no idea what is really going only. These people are strangers to us.'

However, your post as follows doesn't say that at all - it's just awful. I would be devastated if someone said this about my marriage, especially someone who doesn't know me.
'I just don't see it. Kate always looks like she is acting with exaggerated smiles. William looks either bored or disgruntled. He very rarely looks relaxed and content, never mind looking affectionate and loving.'
Unkind. Fairly obviously, from the actual evidence available, untrue.

But obviously, in your opinion it's fine and dandy to say such things. At least about Kate and William.

antelopevalley · 14/10/2022 22:40

You would be devastated if someone said about how you and your DP look when having their photos taken by press photographers?
Okay
Strange
I will leave you to it.

@Hilarymantelspencilsharpener That is not true. I have not posted many times saying that. Please do not lie.
Their marriage may be fine. I ALWAYS say we have no idea what is really going only. These people are strangers to us.
But they do not look in love or look affectionately at each other in public. OP is correct.

I would never wish a marriage, especially when there are young children will fail. But many on here openly say they want Harry and Meghan to split up.

“OP is correct” is not actually correct is it. It’s an opinion which the OP and you hold, not a fact

Many people on this thread don’t think the “OP is correct”. I for one cannot see what you see, they look perfectly in love to me in the non work photos. In the ones when they are working they look professional, as they should

Riverlee · 15/10/2022 07:39

@Hilarymantelspencilsharpener Haven’t heard the word scrote used in ages. Good use of the word.

derxa · 15/10/2022 10:16

vera99 · 15/10/2022 10:27

All this nonsense about how hard they work - here's is an average day in Princess Margaret's busy "daze" she used to have. I Imagine Andrew probably doesn't even to wash and shave anymore.

ArcaneWireless · 15/10/2022 10:41

Well hopefully Margaret’s little pick-me-ups would have enabled her to look at folk with love and affection. Or else she!d be getting a chewing on here for no reason.

oh. Wait. 😉

Mamamia7962 · 15/10/2022 11:05

vera99 - What has Princess Margaret got to do with a thread about W and K? We know you're anti royal, but you're making yourself sound desperate. PM has been dead for 20 years!

As Tesco says every little helps. But a fair cop gov... I'll but out. 😀

Frankly, Princess Margaret's day is something I aspire to, though what it's relevance is to this thread I have no idea.

OTOH - Tom Hollander's day is also something to aspire to.

The 'vodka pick me up' at midday sounds like my sort of day.

Though what she needed to be 'picked up' from is not entirely clear.

Probably the fags, debauched lifestyle and big sis taking a dim view of her lifestyle. "Surely not again Margaret?"

"I'm busy - Roddy's coming around at 2..."

As I'm now into my 50's I would answer as...just life really. I need a pick me up from life.

antelopevalley · 16/10/2022 14:05

A pick-me-up at lunchtime is functional alcoholic talk. She had drunk enough by the end of lunch to meet the definition of binge drinking.
Functional alcoholics are more common than many people seem to think.

It's not just functional alcoholic talk.

Best not to make categoric statements that could worry people unnecessarily about themselves or people they know.

ArcaneWireless · 16/10/2022 15:45

It would even appear that some don’t even need a wee pick me up to blether shite.

Can’t you people do anything better than fall out over something which is no concern of either of you?

vera99 · 16/10/2022 19:31

At the risk of a major derail which I started with the Margaret stuff, she seems like the most real of any of them and her parties with actors, musicians and the like were the stuff of legends. She was also a massive ballet fan I saw her in the 1980s at the Royal Opera House when Mikhail Baryshnikov was dancing and could spot her from high above as she took her usual place in the Dress Circle. She had an aura about her and a wonderful way of walking to her seat.
