Harry and Meghan doing alright in the US, continuing their universal service

Have heard a few comments from panellists and commenters thinking that Harry somehow wants to come back to the UK?

I highly doubt this. I think they are doing more than ok in the US.

A pity a positive thread has been deleted regarding the podcasts, maybe the positive conversation can continue here?

In particularly I wanted to highlight the announcement that they will be recipients for the Robert J Kennedy Human Rights award.

“When The Duke and Duchess accepted our award laureate invitation back in March, we were thrilled. The couple has always stood out for their willingness to speak up and change the narrative on racial justice and mental health around the world,” Kerry Kennedy, president of Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, and Robert F. Kennedy's daughter, said in a statement shared today. “They embody the type of moral courage that my father once called the ‘one essential, vital quality for those who seek to change a world that yields most painfully to change.’”

Well, quite. As people on twitter have pointed out, some of the email addresses for people working on behalf of the RFK Human Rights Foundation are Sunshine Sachs addresses. And even if the Sussexes are no longer working with Sunshine Sachs, they say the award was accepted in March.

I totally agree. I don't see any sign of them wanting to cone back. No sign of thawing between them and the RF. I don't understand why people say Harry wants to water down his book. Why? He's not bothered about hurting his father or brother. And, to be fair, I don't think he thinks in those terms. I doubt he gives much credence to their feelings because his own are so much more important.

I think it's great they've agreed to accept another award. I'm not sure how much money they receive for it. But as long as it goes to a good cause eventually, it's a positive thing? They seem in very good company of the other laureates who faced or are facing the threat of prison, some even being imprisoned for fighting for human rights in their country. The award raises their own profile and that of the RFK awards. Who had of heard them before? Maybe they're well known in the US, though.

All awards for good deeds are a bit hit and miss, I think. Obama got the Nobel Peace war at the start of his presidency begore he'd even done anything. Just because of his achievement of getting elected and the hope that brought. And yet, during his tenancy, the world become the most profoundly unpeaceful and destabilised.

But it's nice to hear positive news and that they are, hopefully, building a base for their philanthropic workforce the future. I'm pleased for them.

He's not bothered about hurting his father or brother. And, to be fair, I don't think he thinks in those terms. I doubt he gives much credence to their feelings because his own are so much more important.

It also seems they did not give a damn about his feelings, and theirs were much more important, way before Harry did the interview. William sending his Jason Knauf after Meghan. Charles abruptly cutting him and his baby off and his location leaked. Let alone him asking to downgrade to Eugenie and Beatrice status and a big thing is made out of it.
As has been said on here, he is treated as a spare with no feelings.

I don't think you get many bigger names than the Kennedy's, worldwide, tbh. So they hardly need to raise their profile.

Obama had a lot of hits, hence he served 2 terms. Not too sure that the world being unpeaceful is his fault either. Even applied to the US. We had 9/11 before him and he got rid of the offender in chief. As all policies, his health one was both well received and criticised, but that's politics for you. Him and Michelle did several things to help those who had been overlooked over the years. There is a reason for him being so well liked. His tenure has been an overall success.

@Serenster didn't you come up with this nasty blind gossip nonsense regarding the NAACP awards too?

Accusing a civil right movement organisation of corruption? yet again.

Now you are here, and telling us the likes of Bishop Tutu, were bought awards. Tell me, how did the world running Sunshine Sachs buy awards for Zelensky, Huerta, Tutu etc. and for what reason.

I wonder if H and M will return for the Coronation? If they do , I think I am right in saying they have to swear allegiance to the King and would have to bow to Camilla .
Would they ?

Serenster · 12/10/2022 11:16

It’s not blind gossip at all Notanotheroneagain. It’s me using my own critical thinking skills, and knowledge of how many industry awards work, to join the obvious dots here.

And it’s not “corruption” - what a ridiculous allegation. Let me put it for you quite simply. The RFK Ripple of Hope Awards and the Sussexes shared a PR agency. The RFK awards are little known, and they have retained a PR agency to build their brand and profile. The Sussexes are looking for credibility and to build their philanthropic brand. Sunshine Sachs sees a perfect symbiosis here between their two clients, and voila! One of the awards is earmarked for the Sussexes. Everyone is happy.

And I’ll give you a tip for free - Zelensky has no need to buy anything. Organisations will be falling over themselves to give him an award right now.

Think you should give that tip to yourself.

And as I said earlier, the Kennedy's are know worldwide, they don't need to pay anyone with awards.

The name of the Kennedy is known worldwide, yes. That doesn’t mean every organisation connected with their incredibly large family has the same profile at all, though. @Serenster

reading wiki, it seems that Kerrie Kennedy has a very high profile in the U S.

I mentioned this I’m on the other coronation thread.
Maybe that’s part of the reason the coronation is being held on Archie’s birthday (I hadn’t realised that until today), to give them a viable excuse to not turn up?
Thereby avoiding all the awkwardness of whether they would swear fealty etc (because I can’t imagine they’d want to tbh).
They we’re always at pains to express their good relationship with the Queen, but not Charles or William, so it makes sense they would attend the funeral, but not want to attend the coronation.

Might make it easier for everyone if they’re not there

Ohnonevermind · 12/10/2022 12:35

The Kennedy’s are well known, and have done some great things but Robert F Kennedy JR has been churning out anti -vax conspiracy stuff (not the Robert j Kennedy awards here )

www.vanityfair.com/news/2021/05/how-robert-f-kennedy-jr-became-anti-vaxxer-icon-nightmare/amp

Theyre trying to raise their profile, and need high profile winners, and differentiate themselves from Robert F

as an aside I love the work the family do for the special Olympics

Ohnonevermind · 12/10/2022 12:37

i know the other Robert as he married ‘Cheryl’ from curb your enthusiasm, so wasn’t purposefully looking for Kennedy negativity

MaulPerton · 12/10/2022 12:42

No, but they need to maintain the status, wealth and profile did I mention wealth? that they have become accustomed to. It's all a big 'circle jerk'.

So they do this by what? Paying the Sussexes with awards? They same couple you have been denigrating as 'irrelevant' ?

I think they should align to a couple of causes that are their passion and throw themselves into them. Learn all they can about the subject and be advocates for their causes.
They are compassionate people with a lot of clout and could make a big difference.

I think they are making a big different to causes that they believe in.

No publicity is bad publicity. The media lens attracts others like flies to...As long as they are in the public eye via whatever means (awards, podcasts, altruistic charity, online calls, books, they will attract others into a symbiotic relationship that will generate wealth for all parties).

Clearly not as he's have had a Booby Kennedy award by now, and there would be more supporters for him on MN and any other social media setting 🤔
