Harry and Meghan doing alright in the US, continuing their universal service

notanotheroneagain · 12/10/2022 07:24

Have heard a few comments from panellists and commenters thinking that Harry somehow wants to come back to the UK?

I highly doubt this. I think they are doing more than ok in the US.

A pity a positive thread has been deleted regarding the podcasts, maybe the positive conversation can continue here?

In particularly I wanted to highlight the announcement that they will be recipients for the Robert J Kennedy Human Rights award.

“When The Duke and Duchess accepted our award laureate invitation back in March, we were thrilled. The couple has always stood out for their willingness to speak up and change the narrative on racial justice and mental health around the world,” Kerry Kennedy, president of Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, and Robert F. Kennedy's daughter, said in a statement shared today. “They embody the type of moral courage that my father once called the ‘one essential, vital quality for those who seek to change a world that yields most painfully to change.’”

What I like is how they say they knew about this back in March. Their team has not leaked at all, as we have seen since they moved to the US.

And @lickenchugget did Penguin say this about the book, or just some nonsense pulled out of the rags arse.

@notanotheroneagain I can exhale fine thanks,obviously.

I haven't trashed my family in a book that's about to come out. My father isn't waiting to see what's put out there about him and his wife before deciding whether to give my children titles!!

You'd have to be blind not to recognise that they cannot even hope to build an entente cordiale until after the dust has settled following book and docuseries.

It's up in the air for now.

Bobbins36 · 12/10/2022 09:35

An endless round of PR arranged award ceremonies….how do people think these things come about? It’s rarely about actual hard graft and more about who can attract the most publicity for the event. Gullible doesn’t cover it.

lickenchugget · 12/10/2022 09:36

Penguin said it was to be released Fall 2022… in my lived experience I have not seen this book as yet, and that’s my truth.

Also with regard to marriages splitting up, 7 years is the first blip statistically.

By xmas 2025 he'll have been married 7 years.

I dont think they'll divorce necessarily as it's programmed in to him to be number two to a more powerful number one.

I dont think it will be a marriage of equals supporting each other though

notanotheroneagain · 12/10/2022 09:37

Harry and Meghan never 'trashed' anyone. That is a stick the likes of piers gave people like you and you are holding on for dear life to it, and it does not make you as bright as you think it does.

They only said what took place.

People come and give interviews all the time, positive and negative, this is one of a very few times for people to declare that it's 'trashing'. It's all rather tiresome and is a way for people who have no argument to say something. Very similar to 'they want privacy' which they never said.
We have biographers giving us all sorts of negative Information about the RF, none of them have ever been called 'trashing'. Like ever.

You have not seen the book, nor do you have any idea what's in it.
You have no idea if the Archie and Lili titles are linked to the book. What we do know is that MM called it, and she was labeled a liar at the time.

Dolores Huerta also a recipient. She’s been awarded the The Presidential Medal of Freedom, one of two awards which are the highest civilian awards in the US.

StormzyinaTCup · 12/10/2022 09:43

Hasn’t MM been nominated for an honorary award at the GQ Man of the Year awards ceremony? (which I thought was a bit😵‍💫). Or did I dream it?

OP - I see your collage has made another appearance 😆

Doing pro Meghan and Harry threads are so bizarre. If they are doing so well you do not need to make this effort to show them in a positive light.

You could say the same if they are doing badly but somehow that doesn’t stop people posting.

If Meghan is the manipulative b* the media and multiple posters portray her as (I don’t think she is), all that had to be done to stop her in her tracks was treat her well. She couldn’t ‘whine’ (put forward legitimate complaints) about the way she has been treated in the press if no such bad treatment occurred. As it is, multiple prominent members of the BAME community have pointed out multiple incidents of racism and multiple occasions where she and the Princess of Wales have done the same thing and she’s been slated and Kate praised.

If there was a way, I would pin it to the MNRF board. 😂😂😂

Everyone seems to have the memory of a goldfish when it comes to the good these two do.

Lovely woman!

I guess her and others you mentioned in your previous poster must be made aware that they are 'celebs' getting awards to make each other rich and benefit, and that is all there is to it. - well according MN anyway.
I wonder how rich Zelensky has become.

Thanks @notanotheroneagain bringing the news of this award to my attention. I’ve been down a rabbit hole on the internet learning about who have been recipients and what each recipient has achieved. H&M are in the company of extraordinary people.

To anyone that’s interested in mental health, I listened to new the Archetypes podcast last night - the mental health one - its definitely worth a listen

They gave their version / truth some of which has been disproved .
We know that Meghan ‘s relationship with the truth is a bit iffy .

I think the reason is that she seems impervious to her effect on other people while encouraging the public to feel all of her hurt feelings.
She reminds me of my mother tbh.
I'm sensitive when I feel hurt by her and I'm cold when I don't feel her feelings more acutely than my own.

I just can't feel much compassion for her. I am not wishing her ill either though.

I wish her self-awareness and life changing epiphanies

J0y · 12/10/2022 10:33

And I'm not on twitter. So basing this on her oprah intrview, her interview with the cut, the podcasts, suing everybody, not including her family in her wedding. That kind of thing
She didn't put a foot wrong at the queen's funeral which must have been hard when they were relegated and she was away from her kids so I definitely give her credit when it's due.

Redfrangipani · 12/10/2022 10:33

Oh @J0y

I am sorry your mother makes you feel that way. That is hurtful.

The media are still pushing the idea that the Sussexes still want half in half out. After the events like the Jubilee and funeral I would have thought that they were relieved to return to the US. Plus wasn't there some rumours that they were house hunting? That sounds like they plan to remain overseas.

The award is weird- surely there are more worthy people who have devoted more years but I guess celebrity wins sometimes.

I totally agree. I don't see any sign of them wanting to cone back. No sign of thawing between them and the RF. I don't understand why people say Harry wants to water down his book. Why? He's not bothered about hurting his father or brother. And, to be fair, I don't think he thinks in those terms. I doubt he gives much credence to their feelings because his own are so much more important.

I think it's great they've agreed to accept another award. I'm not sure how much money they receive for it. But as long as it goes to a good cause eventually, it's a positive thing? They seem in very good company of the other laureates who faced or are facing the threat of prison, some even being imprisoned for fighting for human rights in their country. The award raises their own profile and that of the RFK awards. Who had of heard them before? Maybe they're well known in the US, though.

All awards for good deeds are a bit hit and miss, I think. Obama got the Nobel Peace war at the start of his presidency begore he'd even done anything. Just because of his achievement of getting elected and the hope that brought. And yet, during his tenancy, the world become the most profoundly unpeaceful and destabilised.

But it's nice to hear positive news and that they are, hopefully, building a base for their philanthropic workforce the future. I'm pleased for them.

J0y · 12/10/2022 10:39

Interestingly perhaps, my dad's mum died when he was a child, and there is a dynamic between them that makes them feel safe in the here and now but they both might have benefited from being more exposed to their weaknessespecially. My dad has been second in command to a woman who never says sorry. They are strong TOGETHER.
That is why I'm not at all sure h&m will divorce.

I recognise this dynamic

I haven’t listened to the podcast but I read that Meghan said that Harry got a referral for her to help with MH issues . If that is the case why didn’t he help her when she said she felt suicidal?

Redfrangipani · 12/10/2022 10:46

@lickenchugget

if you find mental health illnesses funny. I don’t.
