The last thread filled up during a particularly chatty morning.

I think I read the book is about other royals as well. The excerpt published about Andrew was illuminating. I’m wondering if there’ll be something about Charles? I could see some interesting stories from courtiers about how he works or how Camilla’s public role has slowly expanded.

I would love to read that - is there a link or a share token?

Does anyone know how the book is structured? Are each of the Sr Royals profiled eg HMQ, each of her 4 children and two grandchildren?

@Readinginthesun

it seems the statement isn’t enough for some posters , perhaps he should have added a guttural reaction for emphasis 🤣

Stop with your archetyping

Regarding 'plotting their deals', this other book extract (also provided by The Times) contains details of when companies/trademarks were first registered in the US. Seems to be quite a few in 2019, before the 'Sandringham Summit' took place.

No matter how obtuse you try to act, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

It has more impact to show a formal letter/statement from William, rather than the torygrapy (it seems only them) receiving a 'statement' no one has actually seen. It would make sense to issue a proper formal statement on headed paper.
Just like Harry's letter, it could state 'from Duke of Cambridge' and go on to state what W says, we would be happy with him reiterating this in a podcast or broadcast like he did with the footballers.

A bit like those when the MPs and lawyers who issued a proper formal letter.

You know it, I know it, William knows it, everybody knows it.

Ohnonevermind · 01/10/2022 16:18

@notanotheroneagain

trademarking, company formation etc is public record

jeffgoldblum · 01/10/2022 16:18

@GlorianaCervixia , thanks for posting that !
Very interesting read , hadn't seen it anywhere, I'm not surprised by the content though!

DFOD · 01/10/2022 16:26

This does a big swerve of “current” events - but reconfirming his was an odious, berating, buffoon. I get the impression that some of the reports are from some time ago (doesn’t excuse them though) and I wonder if his behaviour to staff more recently was “better” given that he was in shit up to his neck and the best advice in those circumstances is to keep your mouth closed…..

"Yet have a view of her personality - it's clearly based on what they read from the rags."

I base my opinion of Meghan (and Harry) entirely on what I see and hear coming from their own mouths in interviews/podcasts, e.g. the Tom Bradby interview (how on EARTH did she think THAT was a good idea), Oprah (least said about that the better), her recent podcasts and the word salad speeches she makes.
Oh, and as for the cringe-making, supposedly "hilarious" Ellen skit!!!

I take newspaper opinion with a very large pinch of salt, unless it is robustly backed up by impeccable sourcing.

That goes for me too. Rags aren't needed when the two of them do such a good job of putting their foot in it over and over again. They are a car crash.

That awful 'Ellen'' nonsense was very ill~ judged.
Beyond juvenile, couldn't see the point of it at all.

Maybe Americans found it 'Amusing', but it was so obviously a complete set up, and embarrasing to watch a grown woman {Ellen} ordering another to act in such a brain~ numbingly unfunny way.

jeffgoldblum · 01/10/2022 16:30

@DFOD , yes but I'm thinking that some serious ndas about that probably mean we won't hear about those advents! ,
He's always been an arrogant ass , it's good the queen took the staff at his word though!

Ohnonevermind · 01/10/2022 16:31

@oakleaffy

i did wonder why someone who is so controlling over their image would allow themselves to be filmed in this way, it was so cringe

Who thought it was a good idea for her to do this ?

SilverLiningPlaybook · 01/10/2022 16:32

She did I think! She doesn't seem to have very good judgement generally.

jeffgoldblum · 01/10/2022 16:33

Oakleafy, I found Harry's " fresh prince of bel air" far more cringy!! , turning up at that poor persons house with a cameras! , how rude.
Then m on the phone calling him "h" really !

I haven't seen that...Will take a look on You Tube.

jeffgoldblum · 01/10/2022 16:36

Back to the book extracts !
The sad thing is , I'm not surprised by these revelations.
Most of it seems what a lot of us suspected!

smileandjoy · 01/10/2022 16:36

Ohnonevermind · 01/10/2022 15:25

For some reason I had a reread of the cut article, it’s gets funnier each time I read it.

In addition to being stunningly beautiful, Meghan comes across as being an astute businesswoman so let’s hope she can monetise this ‘dedication’ – if she isn’t already.

jeffgoldblum · 01/10/2022 16:38

@oakleaffy , it's the James cordon bus ride thingy , I think 🤔, but if you search on YouTube you will find it .

Ohnonevermind · 01/10/2022 16:38

@smileandjoy

i don’t think anyone on these said she was unattractive, it’s her personality that’s the problem.

jeffgoldblum · 01/10/2022 16:40

@Ohnonevermind , indeed! Doesn't matter what the packaging looks like , if the contents aren't on the same level!
