Anyone else think The Times should not be printing extracts from this new book about Royal Courtiers at this time? Incredibly stupid given that H&M are trying to mend fences? I feel really quite cross for everyone involved - William's efforts to build bridges etc, all going to be in vain now. Very naughty.

I agree. What gets me is that these 'courtiers' seemed to be women. Their lives made a misery. Of course their lives don't matter. Only Meghan and Harry matter according to some on here.

This is another example of the rampant hypocrisy

She launched her 40 x 40 birthday scheme

Because I’m turning 40, I’m asking 40 friends to donate 40 minutes of their time to help mentor a woman who is mobilizing back into the workforce," Meghan said in the video. "Over 2 million women in the US alone and tens of millions around the world have lost their jobs due to Covid and I think if we all do it and all commit 40 minutes to some sort of act of service, we can create a ripple effect."

Unless of course Meghan happens to be your boss. She certainly did create
a 'ripple effect' and managed to 'mobilise' women staff that were currently in the workplace out of it!

Roussette · 27/09/2022 08:54

And you're not a derailer with your CONSTANT posts to me about one sentence that was totally irrelevant to this thread?

Look to yourself. It's all there in back and white.

Would only have been one post if you had the integrity to “own it” up front after being called out in black and white first time rather than obfuscation and doubling down on your mistake.

Seems it was in fact relevant as multiple PP were engaged in the discussion?

Also you “owning it” post was rather undignified.

Doesn’t help your case.

Croque · 27/09/2022 09:29

I wish Charles would STOP phonily stating that he loves both H&M. Of course he doesn't love M, none of them do. They have good reason not too. She certainly doesn't claim to love them either. I wonder if the staff write it to wind her up? 😀

Roussette · 27/09/2022 09:35

Yes, and agreeing with me. Not you.

The fact I had not told a poster to leave the thread.

Anyway... as you were

TrashyPanda · 27/09/2022 09:35

how very true.

there have been no denials about the VL book, or about the detailed and specific instances of Meghan bullying staff.

given her proclivity for issuing press releases, that says it all.

RandomPenguinHouse · 27/09/2022 09:35

What we've seen on this thread by two posters in particular is the patriarchal, authoratitive response to when women assert their own opinions that contradict what the authoritarian voices want to be said. So in response to these opinions we get in essence:

She's mad
She's being weird and not normal
She's being hysterical

Fascinating that I got these levied at me even when (especially when?) I pointed out that I hadn't made any negative comments about MM. You'd think those few certain posters would appreciate that, as that's what they purport to want: people not criticising MM. But no, what they really want it seems is people not criticising them in any way even when it involves hard evidence, facts and the truth.

But he would be criticised if he didn’t mention them and he couldn’t very well say that he loves his son but miss her out !

Readinginthesun · 27/09/2022 09:38

But I agree that none of them love her . Why would they ?

Well said @SallyLockheart - what’s v tedious is when someone lies and gets found out with facts they don’t have the character to say ‘fair enough’ but instead double down with whataboutery and further derailment…..accusing the other of being unreasonable for finding out the facts…!

The classic abusive tactic of DARVO - defend attack reverse victim and offender.

This is interesting because what I said stacked up.

Twisting it into a lie is a lie itself, so this is all entirely hypocritical.

Serenster · 27/09/2022 09:42

Plus Harry was supported to have Invictus and Sentabale as “his” charities with a high level of personal involvement. If you look back at past “spares” none of them have been given the opportunity to have their own personal projects like that (interestingly, apart from Andrew with his “trade delegation” role 🙄 and Pitch@Palace! Both of which could have been great ideas if it wasn’t Andrew involved with them…).

Anyway, with that and the Commonwealth Trust Role and the Captain General of the Marines position, it really does make you wonder what on earth Harry wanted on top of that? He had been offered huge opportunities to have an impact in some global fields already.

By 'agreeing with me' do you mean my post about how I interpreted your 'move on' comment? You didn't acknowledge it earlier but I don't know who else you could be referring to. If it was me, my point was that I could also see how it could be read differently to how I did as it wasn't clear.

I also don't think this is the discussion @Snog meant but it's getting confusing now to keep track.

Samcro · 27/09/2022 09:44

pmsl at posters accusing of derailing whilst they count posts and hound Rousette.. reminds me of the threads way back when they were full of trolls shutting down anyone who didn't want to join their team(not calling anyone on here a troll by mn standards)
maybe the people who shout about derailers and how they think people should ignore anyone who they don't agree with should start their own forum.

myrtleWilson · 27/09/2022 09:46

Never has the Spider-Man pointing gif felt more appropriate on this thread

Serenster · 27/09/2022 09:47

Oh sorry, the thread moved on swiftly! My post above was responding to @SallyLockheart on the last page.

Also, posters need to stop casting aspersions about posts counting, I think. No one is forcing anyone to post on a public website. Everything you post becomes a matter of public record when you do, though. If you don’t like it when people treat them as exactly that, then it’s entirely your choice to continue or not, surely?

I don't think anyone is hounding Roussette.

I think Roussette gives as good as she gets, if not more.

I stopped posting on RF threads a few years ago as there was not just a lot of trolling, but also sock-puppeting, on both sides of the divide. MNHQ said so.

I must type really slowly because by the time I post I'm behind the discussion.😊

'Anyway, with that and the Commonwealth Trust Role and the Captain General of the Marines position, it really does make you wonder what on earth Harry wanted on top of that?'

It was never going to be enough. He wanted to lash out, to get revenge for his dysfunctional childhood, he just wanted to hurt people all under the guise of protecting his wife. All very bizarre and the only fly in the ointment is how he is the one coming across as very unpleasant whilst tthe rf are being incredibly tolerant, kind and are as popular as ever.

Has there been any update from MM on the impact of this initiative?

IrisVersicolor · 27/09/2022 09:56

Bottom line is. Certain posters want a place where they can say all they want in a negative way about MM without anyone coming on and disagreeing.

Because when posters come on and disagree, they call it derailing.

No! I call it having a different opinion to you!

Readinginthesun · 27/09/2022 09:58

DFOD · 27/09/2022 09:56

Has there been any update from MM on the impact of this initiative?

I asked that question on another thread and was quickly berated and told there was no need for an update etc etc . But I too would be interested as I used to mentor junior staff and there is no way 40 minutes would have achieved anything.

IrisVersicolor · 27/09/2022 09:58

The other interesting thing is that apparently the MM tormentors see any MM thread as a bitching thread, and anyone who posts any other view is ‘derailing’ the the thread.

What’s v sad though is that his volatility, vexatiousness and revenge won’t bring him and emotional relief. More likely inflame it.
