Anyone else think The Times should not be printing extracts from this new book about Royal Courtiers at this time? Incredibly stupid given that H&M are trying to mend fences? I feel really quite cross for everyone involved - William's efforts to build bridges etc, all going to be in vain now. Very naughty.

And when someone called me racist on another thread you jumped in to defend it as “just an opinion.”

You don’t seem to like it when people figure out that the “nice” act you put on is not reality.

So what’s the ‘reality’? Has she been sending you dickpics?

Could you post proof or a link that he was actually forced to attend these courses.

Would you rather he hadn't done them?

I would rather, but we will never know will we, nor we will never know what got him when he used derogatory terms on others. Whether he wanted to do the courses or not, he did them.

IrisVersicolor · 25/09/2022 22:01

Why do you believe that her mixed race was regarded as positive? What evidence do you have for that, and her own account contradicts this?

H grew up in a racist environment, and then he met a mixed race woman and he woke up. Or just “woke” as many would denigratingly call it.

I don’t see that arc of growth of awareness among any of the other family members - as evidenced by the cringey Carribbean tour.

I believe (my own opinion, remember) that it was regarded as positive because, bluntly, it was good PR. As I said, it made the RF look like they were joining this century. It gave them good press, made them more relatable to more people. Like the South Africans who danced in the streets like they did when Mandela was released.

The Queen extended certain invites to Meghan quicker than she had with Kate, that's a sign that the welcome to her by the head honcho was positive at first.
I believe that Charles also felt positively about Meghan at that point.

I’ve definitely sent no dickpics.

For Gods sake, we are adult women . Is it not possible to have an intelligent discussion without all this pathetic name calling and slagging off?

StormzyinaTCup · 25/09/2022 22:20

It’s interesting how much mileage M haterz make of H’s fuck up and ignore and deny the tsunami of racism directed at, and underpinning attitudes to, Meghan.

Not at all, the tabloid media have been shocking with their headlines and stories on MM.

I don't hate the couple I just don't like them, both in equal measure. But the fact is, as it stands at the moment, the only proven royal who has made racist comments is MM husband, who incidentally not only made these racist comments but filmed himself doing so for his and his friends amusement. Too bloody right I'm going to get mileage out of it, in the same way others like to get mileage out of the brooch. Both are nasty but at least I can call both nasty and not make excuses why one is ok but the other isn't.

Good PR and liking something are two completely different things. Men employ women for diversity and PR and then treat them like shit.

From what I’ve heard Meghan’s relatability on that score came to terrify the palace. Too relatable, too potentially popular.

Cuck00soup · 25/09/2022 22:26

Do we know who raised them - was it Camilla - there's another thread somewhere about Camilla living separately from Charles?

I do think he is actually very loving. When I have seen them together and him in general with other people - he appears to be a loving, well mannered and extremely down to earth person. Someone I know who worked with him said the same. We only see glimpses of their lives of course.

From memory, Harry started at Eton very soon after the death of his mother. It had been planned for years and yes, his older brother was there already, and yes he could go to Granny down the road for tea. But sending a child to boarding school days after his mother died isn't the best thing for a teen's mental health is it?

I think this too. It was very much in the best interests of the RF to welcome someone who wasn't white British to the family, even in purely PR terms. I don't think the courtiers and staff (who are not just a bunch of debs doing a prestigious part time job, whatever has been implied) would have failed to recognise that.

Also agree that Meghan did get special consideration and acknowledgement from the Queen with the engagement they went on together and all reports of Charles' attitude to her appeared very warm and positive. Not forgetting "the family she never had" comment, of course.

Great thread @Roussette

That person is not a fan either. Glad people have started to see the MM smear for what it is. Glad it's seen and shared. Hopefully will stay in people's memories too. As things stand the RF has the upper hand because the press can write and rewrite history as they want. I think with SM, people will carry the torch and show info from the other side and what actually took place too.

The RF has the upper hand because bigger things are at stake than MM's fame and success portraying herself as a philanthropist. If they have to sacrifice that, they will. Whether that is right or wrong is a different story. The fact that the Times is shredding articles non stop is just a warning of how bad it can get. If necessary, history will repeat itself. Quite sad.

That wouldn't be my choice - even with both parents alive. Did they have a mum though? Did C taken on that role or just focus on PC only?

No-one has said it was ok they just said he’s woken up.

Technically the racist culture at Highgrove was exposed at tribunal, but no-one likes to talk about that.

Meghan wasn’t employed by a man. What do you mean? She chose to marry into a very famous, very ancient family with traditions that go back centuries. Her CHOICE. If she was too impulsive and unmotivated to do any research or ask questions about what would be required of her,
she was very stupid. She didn’t need to marry Harry.

The head of the RF was a woman , not a man.

When I try and tag you it says your username doesn't exist. Have you changed settings so you can't be tagged?

Anyway, here you go!

First line states that he "was ordered" (by the army) to attend. ie forced to, made to, not done pro-actively.

I haven't changed any settings. I wouldn't know how to do that, I would think it is impossible

The Army order everyone within the Army, that is their Modus operandi. It isn't 'forced' which sounds like he was kicking back and refusing to do it

As posters keep saying on here, accuracy matters
