Do you think it would be okay to do my washing and hang it out tomorrow (the day of the Queen’s state funeral), if I stick to blacks?

Hope service stations are open tomorrow. I have to travel and I don't relish the idea of not being able to stop for snacks or fuel. Plus when I arrive I'll need food so I hope at least Maccy D's has reopened.

i know that welcome break have said theyre staying open

FourChimneys · 18/09/2022 18:30

WimbyAce please let your DD wear her Halloween t-shirt if she wants to. Just don't let her sing Ding Dong the Witch is Dead.

I'm an anti monarchist but even I would draw the line at that.

janj2301 · 18/09/2022 18:33

I've got curtains to shorten and hang, I will even drill 4 holes to put up the curtain rail. I also have gardening to do, but not mowing as I did that last week

Tabbouleh · 18/09/2022 18:35

I am going to be watching " Gandhi" with the DC. It's probably not what she would have wanted, but we will be doing it anyway.

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 18/09/2022 18:36

Laundry on the day of the funeral? Coloured laundry at that?

You monster!

NB. At least be certain to fly your pants at half mast.

WimbyAce · 18/09/2022 18:23

Brilliant 😆

Fek. I was late to this party, someone beat me to it!

FOTTFSOFTFOASM · 18/09/2022 18:43

OP, I still can't work out if you are joking or not (God, I hope you are).

If anyone wants to know, iron tablets will turn your poo a nice respectful black. Just saying.

If Commodus (our Bichon Frisé) proves belligerent (or the Babylis clippers have a dull blade) we'll dig the canoe out of the garage and practice nuclear drills in the garden in case Potty Putin makes real on his coded threats.

An upturned canoe, dinghy or child's paddling pool makes an ideal first response coverall for most blasts of up to eighty-one megatons. It must be dust free, made from shellac or fibre glass, and carries a British kitemark.

:) X

PS Fallout respects no boundaries - I'm certain I've had an itchy ear since 1986 when Chernobyl went poof!

Our waitress at the Trafford centre (it was absolutely heaving) asked if we were working. No we both said. I am she said ( I got the feeling she was asking every customer). That’s odd I said as aren’t all the shops shut - yep but we are open.

so Tampopo Trafford centre if anyone needs noodles.

SucculentSunshine · 18/09/2022 18:51

Washing absolutely not. Black washing? Fine. Those are the rules.

I was going to do some painting, I've bought a dark green but now I'm wondering if I should only be painting with black paint?

Now you've reminded me of The Fast Show sketches with the artist Johnny, who is fine until he's reminded of the colour black.

Given that OP has posted their own op to grievewatch on twitter, I think we can assume they're taking the piss.

It's a bank holiday in the pub and people are gradually getting hammered one wonders where that is going to go say come 3 pm ?

worriedatthistime · 18/09/2022 19:12

Wash as normal , do what you like
Personally i will watch a little of the funeral but no way the whole thing

Yerroblemom1923 · 18/09/2022 19:15

@rumbypumby you're joking, right?!

MadisonAvenue · 18/09/2022 19:17

We’re having a barbecue, our son has stayed for the weekend which has been lovely and our other son and his girlfriend both have the day off work so we thought we’d make the most of the bank holiday and have one last barbecue before it gets put away for the year.

shrunkenhead · 18/09/2022 19:23

How long till this thread gets pulled too....?! So fed up of MN getting rid of the interesting/ amusing threads!

Towcat15 · 18/09/2022 19:24

My mum has genuinely just complained that she’s got loads of washing to do having just come back from holiday but that it will have to wait until Tuesday. She has also said she might pull the curtains shut, and complained about ‘having’ to do that.

she reads the daily mail though so…

Georgeskitchen · 18/09/2022 19:32

We live in a democracy so you can do what ever you wish. Just beware if you have a sparky neighbour who might take a photo of you hanging out your washing and put it on the local FaceyB group.
Then you will probably be run out of town 🤣🤣

BatshitCrazyWoman · 18/09/2022 19:32

I'm driving to the airport and going on holiday.

#itswhatshewouldhavewanted

🙄

Mumofteens4 · 18/09/2022 15:45

Yes I am serious; I don’t want to offend. But the weather for the rest of the week is dreadful

I’ll be doing my washing. I was hoping for a relaxing weekend, it hasn’t worked out like that at all. It’s been stressful and not great. So our Sunday has become Monday.
We will be watching the funeral for our lovely Queen though

vera99 · 18/09/2022 19:33

Pub grub fit for a King !

What is okay on the day of the funeral?
Northbynorthbreast · 18/09/2022 19:37

ShirleyJackson · 18/09/2022 16:01

I’m having my bathroom ripped out.

It’s what she would have wanted.

😂

JemimaPiddleDick · 18/09/2022 19:46

Assuming this isn’t a wind up then feel free to do whatever you want to do. Obviously I’d advise against playing Megadeth at full volume but if you want to hang out washing of any colour that’s as acceptable as wanting to remain indoors on the only dry day of the week.

Msmbc · 18/09/2022 19:48

Hahahaha, cannot stop laughing, this is the best one yet
