Removing E:R from Harry’s Uniform

I am certainly not one of H&M’s fans but I think that for someone to actually remove the ER initials from his military uniform for the vigil was beyond petty.

The decision was made to allow him to wear a military uniform, fine, Andrew was also given permission but to take the time and trouble to remove the Queen’s initials from the epaulettes was, I think, really childish. I know he has chosen to not be a working Royal but the initals were left on Andrew’s epaulettes so why were Harry’s removed?

Apart from anything else, this will just add grist to the mill of H&M’s litany of complaints but for once, I think they’d be justified in being upset by this.

Expect I’ll be flamed for this and there are many more important things going on in the world but I do think this was a snotty thing to do to Harry.

I really don't think supporters of H and M do them any favours with these threads.

And their critics are not doing themselves any favours either.

Constantly attacking H&M, calling them names and labels as well as anyone who supports H&M. Outright making up things.

Don't even think they care about the RF tbh.

@MrsMaxDeWinter Calm down Meghan, we can all have our own opinions.

You really think I am Meghan?

It's so ludicrous that you believe this. The woman clearly lives rent free in your head!

@notanotheroneagain quite. It's just another stick to beat Harry and Meghan with. I'm not a die-hard fan of theirs - the interview with The Cut was one the most embarrassing things I've read - and only post on these threads occasionally (whereas it seems to be a full-time job for others) but to expect them and them alone to speak out and condemn Andrew is ridiculous.

They never talk about other members and their own gossip.

You're saying they never talk about other members of the royal family?

Read the full sentence, they talk about themselves and what pertains to them. Once again, Andrew has nothing to do with them.

How insulting is this?
I have been called Meghan, Doria, an employee of SS a thousand times.
It is just rude and means you have nothing up add to the discussion except a pathetic non joke to @MrsMaxDeWinter

The critics with their obsessive relentless bitching come off heinously.

Some of them seem to be unhinged.

I think, I saw a thread comparing her to Trump. Yes, really. All sorts of blown up nonsense. Oh look, look, that millionaire wants even more money and status, she's power crazy. Lol, you would have thought they were talking about Putin.

Batshit 😂😂

LondonWolf · 18/09/2022 20:21

But that's not what you said. Even "reading the full sentence". You didn't say that, but as you've clarified...

I think if you've got so much to say about how awful most of your family is but resolutely ignore the really bad thing and family who did it because you're mates with the children of said family member it makes you a hypocrite. I don't expect you or anyone else to agree (obvs) but that's what I think and frankly I don't much care if you disagree with me. It's fine Smile

However it's not really in line with the relentless "What about Andrew though?" we so often hear on these threads. Yes what about Andrew? Why aren't the only members of that family who discuss private family matters publicly, talking about him? As ever M&H get a free pass.

Now if you don't mind, I don't like getting drawn into argy bargy on these threads. I like fairly low key discussion and finding out new stuff. Calling people cunts for disagreeing? Not really my thing.

StormzyinaTCup · 18/09/2022 20:26

Look who is going off crying to MNHQ to remove a post with a word that is regularly used and ascribed to H&M constantly and no one ever ever bats an eyelid.

But you can't call another poster a c**t just because you don't like what they are saying, it was completely unnecessary.

I don't think, and granted I haven't seen them all because I have a life, that word ever ascribed to the couple let along on a regular basis. I use most other words but not that one and I'm fairly certain it's not been on any RF thread I've been on (but your welcome to check if you like😁).

I've never seen them referred to as cunts on MN. Not even on Twitter, where the gloves really are off.

I've never seen them called that and,if I did I would think it was a disgusting thing to say about someone. I don't know anyone in real life who finds that term acceptable. And to call someone that directly on a chat forum is vile.

I agree. I never use that word. It’s disgusting. Never seen it used to describe H and M ever , and if I did I would report it.

That old chestnut again. It’s okay to call people cunts, but you’re not a racist, so that’s OK. Even though the vast majority of people having a balanced discussion about M and H and the RF on these threads are not being racist at all. In your view though, everyone is racist. Do you know the ethnic origins of every poster then? Are you psychic?

Meanwhile, slightly back on topic, the Telegraph is also raising something that I had also been curious about.

Along with the ER cipher on the epaulette, aides de camp also wear fancy gold bread looped over their right shoulder. You can see it on William in the photo I posted earlier, taken at Harry’s wedding.

William wore it when marching behind the Queens coffin on Wednesday. And he always wears it, as it’s part of his dress uniform. His father aunt and uncles were all wearing it for their vigil on Friday. But William wasn’t wearing it for the vigil on Saturday. The Telegraph is reporting he took it off to appease his brother, who was, as was reported int he Times, vey unhappy that his uniform no longer had the insignia of the aide de camp role he had given up when he left.

*Braid, not bread! 🤣 A few gilded croissants night look quite good, though…!

notanotheroneagain · 18/09/2022 20:45

So disingenuous, because I know most of you closely follow the H&M threads, and they have definitely been called that, lots of times.

I have also seen their supporters called that and other names, myself included. None of you said a word. So I guess now, you didn't see this word that is why you never said anything ? Quite selective viewing and memory as always.

Anyway, we move on from there, because you have no arguments and are basically spamming the thread with a word that MN has already removed. So breaking the MN rules, I believe.

Yeah, I think we kind of figured out that Roya was making that article up.
Harry already put out a statement, that he was fine with the uniform thing and lets concentrate on the funeral.

No, I have never seen it. If I did I would remonstrate and report it and I don't believe no one said a word. I always tackle cheap or OTT shots, like when someone posted that mean meme of Meghan from the NY Post and I never ever post or even give consideration to the more silly and salacious gossip around M&H.

Tbh there's a depth of unpleasantness going on here with this name calling and these accusations that I am uncomfortable with so I don't think I am going to respond to or directly address certain regular posters on these threads in future. I'll just be here for the info as I like to be. You'll be devastated I am sure Grin.

MysteriesOfTheOrganism · 18/09/2022 20:53

Harry wanted the perks without doing the work. I can't say I have much sympathy for him.

GreenLunchBox · 18/09/2022 20:58

Charles is going to fuck this up and hopefully it will hasten the demise of the monarchy

I’ve never seen a discussion of M&H on the interminable M threads that was either balanced or non-racist.

I think you’ve misunderstood, nota.
