Removing E:R from Harry’s Uniform

I am certainly not one of H&M’s fans but I think that for someone to actually remove the ER initials from his military uniform for the vigil was beyond petty.

The decision was made to allow him to wear a military uniform, fine, Andrew was also given permission but to take the time and trouble to remove the Queen’s initials from the epaulettes was, I think, really childish. I know he has chosen to not be a working Royal but the initals were left on Andrew’s epaulettes so why were Harry’s removed?

Apart from anything else, this will just add grist to the mill of H&M’s litany of complaints but for once, I think they’d be justified in being upset by this.

Expect I’ll be flamed for this and there are many more important things going on in the world but I do think this was a snotty thing to do to Harry.

@SilverLiningPlaybook in a way Harry is like his mother. William is a Windsor through and through, dutiful, discreet and very self aware. Harry is a Spencer, tempestuous, impulsive and incredibly damaged!

Yes very true.

BeckyWithTheAverageHair · 18/09/2022 19:04

I live in hope that he and M will express a strong opinion on this appalling matter, given their work with VAWG organisations and their beliefs.

One might hope Andrew's own daughter would express an opinion on it given her work with the Anti-Slavery Collective. Or indeed Sophie Wessex who probably does the most work with women and girls who've been victims of sexual violence. And Camilla probably can't say anything now she's queen but in the past she has worked with charities who help victims of domestic abuse.

But no, a resounding silence from them all. Yet it's Harry and Meghan who are expected to speak out.

Or through a less bedazzled lens: William is dull, narrow and very, very conservative. Harry and Diana’s son are more critical and less impressed with the whole shebang.

I certainly don't expect them to speak out but their resolute silence on these matters yet consistent whinging about others, is noticeable.

notanotheroneagain · 18/09/2022 19:17

We have seen all of them coming out of clubs shit faced, that includes Kate and William. Harry even had bust up with one of the photographers.

I don't know anything about Harry being a bully at school. His own point of view is that he was targeted because of his status - at one point saying they used to rush him at sports. I have heard of a temper from others. Can you please link where he is bullying people at school?

I really don't think supporters of H and M do them any favours with these threads.

But why them and not the members of the family who do the most work with victims of rape and sexual assault?

William may appear that way in public but we really don’t know what he’s like in private do we? At least he has the sense not to undermine his family in public.

Because they don't talk about anything do they? H&M do.

You can say that again! Grin

Sophie has spoken extensively about VAWG and made it one of her pet causes so if that's not talking about it then I don't know what is.

How is that the same as talking about personal family matters? No royal does that except...H&M, who show themselves willing to do so over and over, but stay away from PA though. Not sure how much clearer I can be tbh.

What a lovely, kind thing to say. You Meghan supporters really are doing yourselves proud 😊

When you have to resort to such name calling I kind of think you've lost the argument tbh. Glad I never lose control and feel the need to do that.

BeckyWithTheAverageHair · 18/09/2022 19:53

You're really not taking the high road you think you are.

You gave me the moral high ground when you called me a "cunt" tbh. You'd never catch me flaring up and calling someone a name like that just because they answered my questions in a way I didn't agree with... Good night to you "Becky" I wouldn't continue a discussion with someone who resorts to name calling in RL so I don't think I will here either Smile

Is there some kind of law that says you can’t call a dysfunctional family on their dysfunction?

They’re good fodder for the stately homes thread except of course they’re the family in the stately homes.

They’re not supporters though.

They’re just posters calling the RF on their shit. They chewed up and spat out Diana, and now they’re doing the same to her son. I have no personal interest in H&M themselves.

H&M talk about themselves, and what pertains to them.

They never talk about other members and their own gossip. Andrew has nothing to do with the Sussex's. To top it, mummy made sure he is not faced with court questions, so even H&M cannot really talk about him. What are they supposed to say exactly.

You're saying they never talk about other members of the royal family?
