I hope Camilla has changed into some flats!

OP posts:

Are they cousins?

ApolloandDaphne · 14/09/2022 15:10

Gosh it is very obvious that Andrew is on his own in this positioning.

PizzaFunghi · 14/09/2022 15:10

Have the spouses joined the procession? Looks like Sophie standing with Edward now

What relation is the Duke of Kent to the Queen?

He’s her cousin.

The Duke of Kent, Princess Alexandra and Prince Michael are her Kent cousins. Duke of Gloucester is also her cousin.

Thanks. I get confused when we get into cousins in my own family let alone anyone else's.

PizzaFunghi · 14/09/2022 15:13

Ah yes, better view now, spouses of those in the procession have joined.

Other grandchildren till at the side with various others

JaneJeffer · 14/09/2022 15:13

Why can't they sit down? They must be knackered.

JustLyra · 14/09/2022 15:13

all of her children and their spouses.
All of her grandchildren and their spouses.
Her nephew. Her niece and her husband.
Her royal cousins, their spouses and their children and children’s spouses.

Thats a big turnout considering it’s not actually the funeral today.

Benefi · 14/09/2022 15:15

Do people think Sarah Ferguson should be there? She's the mother of two of the Princesses and still lives in the same residence as Andrew. Things always seemed cordial between her and the Queen.

JustLyra · 14/09/2022 15:15

Also I’m really liking that the Queen’s children are continually in age order. Not succession order.

She’ll likely be at the funeral, but no, I don’t think she’ll should be at these bits.

JaneJeffer · 14/09/2022 15:17

I think Fergie knows she'd get criticised if she went as she always does no matter what.

PizzaFunghi · 14/09/2022 15:17

But yet another service. It's like they've had to attend one almost every day before we even get to the real thing. I hope some of them are actually being comforted by it or feel that the queen would have been. It just keeps reminding me of funerals I've attended and I'd be a wreck to keep have to do it over and over.

Benefi · 14/09/2022 15:18

Good point. With everyone being there, I was thinking of who wasn't. I can't see anyone younger than Viscount Severn being at the funeral.

toomuchlaundry · 14/09/2022 15:19

Who gets to be in the congregation

Benefi · 14/09/2022 15:19

But yet another service.

I was thinking that, for someone like me, it's hard to appreciate how much the lives of the aristocracy can be so wrapped up in the Church and the military.

ItsRainingPens · 14/09/2022 15:21

I'm serious surprised no-one has collapsed yet

Benefi · 14/09/2022 15:21

Ah, we're at the peace, we're nearly done.

It's like the BBC can't get the commentary correct. Too much in Edenborough, not enough today in my opinion. Just a bit of info on the people, the music etc. would have been appreciated.

toomuchlaundry · 14/09/2022 15:23

How do they stand there for 6 hours?

Jellykat · 14/09/2022 15:23

Dont tell me those guys have to stand for 6 hours?

WingBingo · 14/09/2022 15:23

Was sure King Charles was about to go then. A big lean backwards for a few seconds.

Benefi · 14/09/2022 15:23

How do they stand there for 6 hours?

And why? Why not 2 hours or 3 hours and have more people share the honour?

Jellykat · 14/09/2022 15:24

No way, what if the need a wee???

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 14/09/2022 15:24

They've done really well today. It's been wonderful to watch them. I did wonder on the horses moving their heads like that, but maybe that's normal, I've never ridden one.

ItsRainingPens · 14/09/2022 15:25

I have a relative who is in the honourable corps of gentlemen at arms
