Wonder how long their shift will be?

I think I read her children will be guarding it from 5pm?

I’m a Church of Scotland minister, and it looks pretty fancy to me! Even in Scotland, cathedral services do tend to be pretty High though.

What does high mean?

Well if Andrew appears in public some people are bound to react. He shouldn't be allowed to take part in anything public apart from the funeral.

It's his mother's funeral, for Heaven's sake. He should be there. It's the heckler should go.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 12/09/2022 16:12

Straighten that standard, someone.

Well, I know it sounds a bit odd, but that was lovely. Moving and comforting. Pleasure talking to you ladies (and any gents).

MrsLargeEmbodied · 12/09/2022 16:12

beautiful singing

ApolloandDaphne · 12/09/2022 16:12

I used to live in Dunblane and attended the cathedral there regularly. It seems exactly like a service that would be conducted there. It even looks similar.

The horse wasn't in distress or pain. He did not have a sore moth as someone suggested above. The horse was feeling his oats, chomping at the bit and worked himself into a froth. He was very eager to move faster than that slow walk.

I've owned horses for 53 years and ridden them for 60 yrs.

whynotwhatknot · 12/09/2022 16:13

its all so beautiful but still so sad

Cactuslockdown · 12/09/2022 16:13

Mooserp · 12/09/2022 16:14

It seems sad to hear God Save the King being sung

ApolloandDaphne · 12/09/2022 16:14

Thank you all for such a respectful and measured thread. It has been a pleasure.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 12/09/2022 16:14

It was a beautiful service. Very personal. I’ve enjoyed reading through this thread as it’s been going on. Lots of lovely comments.

Chumbazumba · 12/09/2022 16:15

And they'll cut to the outside of the church where James Naughtie will still be talking. '.... as you can see a famous fudge shop not too far from the Cathedral, I daresay Her Majesty was partial to a bit of fudge now and again as it is a fine Scottish tradition introduced by...'

NiqueNique · 12/09/2022 16:15

Everything has been done so wonderfully today and it has been really lovely to see so much of beautiful Scotland, the place that was so close to HM’s heart, yesterday and today.

The two men either side of Tim Lawrence in the procession were security - one just got in the front of Charles and Camilla’s car

LakieLady · 12/09/2022 16:17

Beautifully done, I thought, dignified and relatively simple.

Well done, Scotland.

EdnaMole · 12/09/2022 16:17

What’s up with Huw Edwards’ eye?

MarshaBradyo · 12/09/2022 16:17

So lovely, am quite emotional, good for one’s soul (zen, or other option)

Aesthetically beautiful too, the service and Scotland

Really nice to share on here

MrsLargeEmbodied · 12/09/2022 16:18

JaneJeffer · 12/09/2022 16:18

No, sorry that's not correct. Public viewings are from 5pm
