I've seen a clip on Instagram where a group of women completely blanked MM when she spoke to them. It was awful to watch.
I feel so sorry for her, she didn't deserve that at all.
I saw another clip where someone had asked her for a hug, she obliged and when they hugged she really held the member of public and closed her eyes, it looked as if she really needed that hug .
No wonder she ran away from the UK

She is beautiful and poised. She would’ve been the greatest asset to Britain and the Royal Family but gave it 5 mins - long enough to have a world class tax -payer funded royal wedding - before running away to California and dishing lies and toxicity on the worlds biggest media platforms. What else can you say?

I wish that people would stop infantilising Harry and blaming Meghan for everything.
It was Harry’s decision to leave England because he was finding it increasingly difficult to cope with the daily vitriol aimed at his wife.
They both felt unsupported and vulnerable so left .
Some were hoping that they would fall on their swords and Harry would come running back. That has not happened which has angered some parts of the British media
The sad thing is that she would have definitely been an asset to our country had it not been for the jealousy of other members of the Royal Family

VladmirsPoutine · 12/09/2022 14:11

You actually think that it's about her colour?

Yes. The reason, categorically, that she's faced this amount of vitriol is specifically because she is half Black. It is that categorical and specific. People like to think the UK is some utopia of multiculturalism, tolerance and anti-racism. I'm black and I can tell you that the notion it is is so fanciful as to be laughable.

LakieLady · 12/09/2022 14:11

I'd love to know how the Meghan-haters would react if, by dint of some calamity, William's family were wiped out and Harry and Meghan became our next king and queen.

oakleaffy · 12/09/2022 13:40

The silly “Whoppers” she is capable of telling puts people off-
The chap who allegedly said people in SA were dancing in the streets when Harry married her-
He denies it.
Plus saying they were married in private- implying that the spectacle paid for by the British Taxpayers was just a sham.
People now scrutinise everything she says-
As with Andrew.

This is the reason I'm not keen on Meghan. To paraphrase Lesley Sharp in the Full Monty, I don't care if she's black white or chuffing rainbow coloured. It's the stuff she's said that you can drive a coach and horses through as mentioned in this post. To imply racism on behalf of everyone who doesn't think she's wonderful is childish and lazy.

Hopingforabagofbuttons · 12/09/2022 14:13

MM likes to be giving us all her opinions about how awful the RF are and how they are all racist and called her the N word.
Nope, I don’t see it at all, I think she’s an attention seeking liar. I think she caused the Queen a lot of stress and upset over the last few years. So no I can’t stand her. I couldn’t give a shit if she’s black white or any colour of the rainbow. I can’t stand Andrew either. Feeling dislike of someone comes from their actions not the colour of their skin,
I think they need to toddle off back to US, where they can carry on whinging about what a tough deal they have had, and the media should ignore them and report on things that matter

VladmirsPoutine · 12/09/2022 14:17

@LakieLady By the end of the working week the country would have organised a referendum on abolishing the monarchy. The government would probably have organised coaches to get rural people to voting stations by 5pm. It would be so efficient that by Saturday morning we'd be waking up to a national address by President Truss.

StopStartStop · 12/09/2022 14:17

It’s all down to her colour, deny it as much as you want.
I deny it. Whatever negative attitudes Meghan experiences from others, she has earned by her behaviour.

Kate will never do wrong in peoples eyes as she is the archetypal princess.
No, she isn't. She's a commoner. She married 'well', for status, and has put her heart and soul into fulfilling her role.

Burpeea · 12/09/2022 14:17

@ImJustMadAboutSaffron Ok we hear you. So pray tell us, how do you feel about Prince Andrew? Prince Charles not even trying to be faithful in his marriage? And Prince Philip being openly racist?

kirinm · 12/09/2022 14:19

Jesus christ - the whole "i don't know if this is true" idiots are on full force on these threads. So far, CNN were there to film H&M and the palace found out and insisted that W&K attend, she was wearing a microphone, netflix were in the background".

Where do you idiots get this shit from and why don't you have any forethought to think about spreading malicious bullshit which is designed solely to destroy this woman that you don't and won't ever know?

sidewayswalking · 12/09/2022 14:19

Is her behaviour though not down to the racism she received?

AuntyDorisMum · 12/09/2022 14:09

I suspect the real reason is envy and their discomfort at seeing a person of colour adored by a British prince. Not to mention the lack of joy in their own lives.

Are you serious?

You actually think that it's about her colour?
Not about the way she's trashed the RF almost from Day 1?
And put the Queen through hell for at least 2 years. And possibly hastened her demise.

Shame on you for not actually owing the reality of their behaviour.
Selling lies about the RF to try to raise her profile in the US.

You’re delusional. You feed into that narrative created by unscrupulous members of the media because you believe it justifies your behaviour. King Charles III publicly expressed his love for his son and daughter-in-law (as did the Queen on several occasions). It’s a shame that this truth is ignored by those who delight in trying to diminish a person that they do not, and are unlikely to ever, know personally. I suggest some introspection is needed to really understand the reasons for your dislike of a person who is not even aware of your existence.

MelodyPondsMum · 12/09/2022 14:23

How odd to focus on people you think were rude from an instagram video rather than focus on the majority who chatted, gave flowers, and even a hug.
I'd love to know the motivation of posters who start threads like this. The Queen's death and how the public choose to mourn her isn't really the place for Mean Girls' point scoring. You're not helping anyone, you're just trying to create a needless bunfight. Life is too short. I'm sure there is a more positive contribution you could make.

Burpeea · 12/09/2022 14:24

@Peaceandcalm King Charles III also had an affair during his engagement and his marriage and told her he liked being her tampon. He was therefore unfaithful to not only his wife, but his young sons.
What do you think of that?

Twawmyarse · 12/09/2022 14:27

I'm not exactly a Meghan or Harry fan but kudos to her for hugging a random member of the public - even I wouldn't do that!

I think they did the right think going to America and thought "good luck to them" but they just seem to be gluttons for punishment or something - they surely are rich enough to just go and live their lives in peace and stay away from the media circus? A part of them must really enjoy it?

Ori1 · 12/09/2022 14:28

@amatsip

It’s all down to her colour, deny it as much as you want.

Wrong. It’s because she dishonoured the Royal Family she chose to marry into by strategically distancing herself from any involvement, then slagging them off on an interview with one of most famous TV chat show hosts in the world. And her motives for doing this were self-interest, to gain more of a TV personality & to jump on the whole “I’m a woman of colour so I was picked on” movement.

She reeks of insincerity, egotism & falsehood

Roussette · 12/09/2022 14:28

AuntyDorisMum · 12/09/2022 14:07

I have no idea if this true but...

Twitter was showing pics of Meghan yesterday with- supposedly- a microphone hidden under her dress on the waistband. Yes, it could be photoshopped and prob was but someone was spreading the rumour (?) that she and Harry were going to walk at Windsor and have it filmed by US TV.

Back to your point OP, you reap what you sow.

If I'd been in the crowd I would not have shook her hand when she offered it.

How rude

That says all we need to know about you

Theprimeofmissmulroney · 12/09/2022 14:29

Meghan isn't too bad and on a human level, I think blanking someone is awful. So nasty. Just not on.

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 12/09/2022 14:29

Burpeea · 12/09/2022 14:17

@ImJustMadAboutSaffron Ok we hear you. So pray tell us, how do you feel about Prince Andrew? Prince Charles not even trying to be faithful in his marriage? And Prince Philip being openly racist?

As previously stated I loathe Andrew with a passion. He's a disgraceful person.

I loathe cheating. If you want to cheat, leave your marriage regardless of who you are. That goes for Diana as well as Charles.

I think Philip was a gobshite with no filter.

I'm puzzled as to why you think that because I don't like Meghan Markle I must approve of the actions of these three people you mention. Most strange.

Travellingwomble · 12/09/2022 14:29

H and M baiting seems to be a new sport it will be in the Olympics next.

Peaceandcalm · 12/09/2022 14:30

UWhatNow · 12/09/2022 14:10

“I suspect the real reason is envy and their discomfort at seeing a person of colour adored by a British prince. Not to mention the lack of joy in their own lives.”

It wasn’t race when thousands of happy people lined the streets on their wedding day. It isn’t race now. It’s the narcissism and anti-British behaviour. But go ahead keep trotting out bollocks and ignore the reality. 🙄

And how many of those that ‘lined the streets’, as you say, are obsessively posting fanciful and asinine comments about the Duchess of Sussex on every possible occasion?
I’m quite comfortable not being in-tune with your ‘reality’.

Luredbyapomegranate · 12/09/2022 14:30

Give over OP. I don’t blame MM for leaving, I wouldn’t want to be in the RF either.

But - what with the interviews and the books - for the RF she is an utterly destructive force, so if you are a royal fan, you are going to think badly of her.

As for closing her eyes when she’s hugged - that’s acting. I’m not being critical of her when I say that, any royal walkabout is a performance. But I am absolutely sure she does not need hugs from random people to make her feel better.

Burpeea · 12/09/2022 14:31

@Ori1 What did King Charles III to do the honour of the Royal Family when he, son of the protector of the faith, didn't even attempt to be honourably married.
What did Prince Andrew do to the honour of the Royal Family when he hung out with sex offenders and paid off women he 'knew' as underage girls.
Did these things not reek of 'insincerity, egotism and falsehood"? Quite apart from being actually, you know, illegal.

NotThisWeekSatan · 12/09/2022 14:32

Meghan had undoubtedly been subject to racism from the press - and by extension, from the gormless cohort of readers who believe everything the DM and other tabloids say.

I saw something today comparing the coverage of her and Kate for the same behaviour and it’s shocking - Kate cuddles her baby bump, it’s endearing, M does, it’s attention-seeking. Etc etc.

Completely understandable then that you might want to move away and remove yourself from that.

Less acceptable: that you do highly paid interviews slagging off your family and moaning about your lot.

For the vast majority, it’s this that has turned the public against her and Harry.

As for the ‘what colour will the baby be’ comment - not a great conversation piece, of course. But also the sort of thing I can imagine lots of (elderly particularly) relatives saying as a well-intentioned if misguided and clumsy attempt to be interested and inclusive, rather than proof of their racism.

@MelodyPondsMum how odd of you to comment on a thread you have no interest in. I'm sure you have better things to do. Jog on 🙂
