I've seen a clip on Instagram where a group of women completely blanked MM when she spoke to them. It was awful to watch.
I feel so sorry for her, she didn't deserve that at all.
I saw another clip where someone had asked her for a hug, she obliged and when they hugged she really held the member of public and closed her eyes, it looked as if she really needed that hug .
No wonder she ran away from the UK

I think the majority of the people still like them. And I thought they were well received the other day going along the crowds.

To me, it's William that's the fuddy duddy

antelopevalley · 12/09/2022 13:51

So the message is let the media tell lies about you and be racist. Just put up and shut up and maybe in twenty years time everyone will like you.
This submissive wife thing is such shit.

Sharrowgirl · 12/09/2022 13:51

I don’t think their Oprah interview was any worse that Diana’s Panorama one yet she’s seen as some sort of saint.

Thymeout · 12/09/2022 13:51

The Oprah interview wasn't behind closed doors. It was broadcast into living rooms all over the world. And they were paid a lot of money for doing it.

Harry criticised his father for cutting off his income and Megan dropped the bombshell of a racist remark within the family about the colour of a potential. child's skin. (Btw, not necessarily racist, but assumed to be.)

As the late Queen said, 'Recollections may vary.'

I can think of a number of reasons why H&M's announcement in the early afternoon of the day she died that they were travelling to Balmoral would have added to the stress of the occasion. Hence, its withdrawal or 'clarification' half an hour later.

But the main one is: How on earth can anyone within the family now have a private conversation with Harry or Megan and trust that it will stay private and not be sold to the highest bidder???

Pixiedust1234 · 12/09/2022 13:52

Let it go. Everybody needs to stop these inflammatory threads especially in a time of national mourning. Its disgusting on so many levels.

They were there to share their collective grief. There weren't there to say hi to mm (or any other living royal).

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 12/09/2022 13:52

butterflied · 12/09/2022 13:47

I don't give a shit about skin colour. She has slagged the RF off for years and is all "me, me, me". She went too far with the Mandela thing. People are calling out her lies.

Actions have consequences.

Yep. I can say I think she's a beautiful woman, but I don't like her. It's nothing to do with her skin colour, it's her behaviour.

PrawnofthePatriarchy · 12/09/2022 13:53

I wasn't at all interested in MM but I love weddings, especially royal ones. I hadn't read anything about her before the wedding and assumed she was Hispanic from her appearance.

When you think how many black leaders, bishops etc the royal family meet and, in many cases, form long relationships with from their youth it's pretty unconvincing to claim they're racists. Seems unlikely.

I don't like her. It's not her race, it's the impression I have of her character. I think it's a marriage Harry will regret.

sidewayswalking · 12/09/2022 13:53

I would love to know how this could not be racist?

VladmirsPoutine · 12/09/2022 13:55

Yet they still showed up to have a glimpse of the royals. Pathetic really. I don't know how she's put up with everything she's been put through. I would have told them all to piss off.

Lampzade · 12/09/2022 13:56

I noticed that it was a certain demographic who ignored her. Probably rabid Daily Fail readers who believe all the criticism of Meghan They simply made themselves look ridiculous
The younger generation on the whole admire Meghan.
These same people would probably shake the hands of Prince Andrew the close friend of a convicted sex trafficker. A man who who recently paid 12 million pounds to a victim of sex trafficking. A woman who he claimed not to have met. Yet Meghan is the ‘witch’ who is trying to destroy the Royal Family
Some posters need to employ some critical thinking.

Harry will not regret this marriage. That man is totally in love with his wife and has alluded to the fact that this woman saved him
It’s Meghan who should regret this marriage. She married the man she loves and yet has been lambasted by some parts of the British media. She is a very tough woman to have to put up with all this shit
She must really love Harry

She is a dignified, beautiful lady. It all boils down to being jealous, that's why these people are derogatory. You will never hear a nice word about her, due to these type of public individuals.

She is beautiful and poised. She would’ve been the greatest asset to Britain and the Royal Family but gave it 5 mins - long enough to have a world class tax -payer funded royal wedding - before running away to California and dishing lies and toxicity on the worlds biggest media platforms. What else can you say?

Burpeea · 12/09/2022 14:00

Racism is deemed wrong in law.
Infidelity is deemed wrong in law.
Sleeping with underage children is deemed wrong in law.
Members of the Royal Family are allegedly guilty of all of these.
Falling out with your family as you join with a partner and start your own new family, is not only experienced by millions of family throughout the world, but not deemed wrong in law. Tell me what Meghan has done that deserves such harsh judgement compared to other members of this family.

maddy68 · 12/09/2022 14:01

Some people are rude

phishy · 12/09/2022 14:02

It doesn't take much to get some Mumsnetters in an anti-Meghan racist froth.

I don't think the video was that bad but the glee that it's been met with by the bottom feeders on Facebook and other sites is unreal.

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 12/09/2022 14:03

WoodlandMummy · 12/09/2022 12:39

Well that’s just bullying and pathetic playground behaviour from those women 🙄 ugh. I can just imagine the type of women that would do that.

So can I. Non-sycophants.

Yep feel sorry for Meghan and it's clear the whole of the world's eyes will be watching carefully how she is treated ..doesn't paint us in a favourable light if we can't behave nicely whilst we mourn our Queen and when she's the only minority member of the RF. All these " can't stand her comments" .. what's the real reason she provokes such a strong response I wonder ?!

I suspect the real reason is envy and their discomfort at seeing a person of colour adored by a British prince. Not to mention the lack of joy in their own lives.

I would not wee on Air Miles Andy if he were on fire.

toddlerblues · 12/09/2022 14:06

I was there on Saturday. To confirm no one knew what was happening when we went down to lay flowers we were asked to queue along the railings and wait which we did. We weren't told what for and what was happening. It was not frenzied fans who had stalked them to see them!

For the record Harry and Meghan were both really lovely and took a lot of time to speak to the public, especially the children and offered to take flowers up to the gates for those who had come down just to lay them.

AuntyDorisMum · 12/09/2022 14:07

I have no idea if this true but...

Twitter was showing pics of Meghan yesterday with- supposedly- a microphone hidden under her dress on the waistband. Yes, it could be photoshopped and prob was but someone was spreading the rumour (?) that she and Harry were going to walk at Windsor and have it filmed by US TV.

Back to your point OP, you reap what you sow.

If I'd been in the crowd I would not have shook her hand when she offered it.

There was no microphone

Are you serious?

You actually think that it's about her colour?
Not about the way she's trashed the RF almost from Day 1?
And put the Queen through hell for at least 2 years. And possibly hastened her demise.

Shame on you for not actually owing the reality of their behaviour.
Selling lies about the RF to try to raise her profile in the US.

Farmageddon · 12/09/2022 14:10

I do feel sorry for her tbh, despite not being a fan of her self indulgent podcasts.

She was sort of stuck between a rock and a hard place in the fact that they were already in the UK, so she would have been criticised for 'going into hiding' if she hadn't shown her face, and also inevitably criticised for anything she said or did while meeting people.
It was an awkward meet and greet anyway, it's supposed to be a sombre occasion so what do you say to people, and also people weren't expecting them.

There just isn't really a place for her or Harry anymore in the Royal group, but they will be dragged back whenever protocol dictates it.

UWhatNow · 12/09/2022 14:10

“I suspect the real reason is envy and their discomfort at seeing a person of colour adored by a British prince. Not to mention the lack of joy in their own lives.”

It wasn’t race when thousands of happy people lined the streets on their wedding day. It isn’t race now. It’s the narcissism and anti-British behaviour. But go ahead keep trotting out bollocks and ignore the reality. 🙄

kirinm · 12/09/2022 14:10

Seeing the sheer volume of posts / threads and articles about Meghan is actually quite frightening. People are truly nasty about her and the papers are disgusting.

If any of my family members were being exposed to that level of abuse, I would involve myself. That Andrew gets a quaint little story about him looking after the bloody corgis whereas Meghan gets her every move analysed by moronic Royal "experts" and correspondents shows how fucked up this country is and how determined the press are to destroy her.

I wonder what it'll take for people to stop? If she ended her life because of the hatred she gets about any and everything she does, would that stop people? Undoubtedly not.
