I've seen a clip on Instagram where a group of women completely blanked MM when she spoke to them. It was awful to watch.
I feel so sorry for her, she didn't deserve that at all.
I saw another clip where someone had asked her for a hug, she obliged and when they hugged she really held the member of public and closed her eyes, it looked as if she really needed that hug .
No wonder she ran away from the UK

i also heard the rumour that they wanted to go and greet mourners with their netflix show to be filmed

charles got wind of this and said no you can come with william and kate to windsor or nothing

Burpeea · 12/09/2022 14:37

@ImJustMadAboutSaffron Diana couldn't leave her marriage could she? She wasn't allowed! Her husband had been unfaithful from the moment he met her and she couldn't do a darn thing about it.

MelodyPondsMum · 12/09/2022 14:37

It's odd that posters who are incensed by public rudeness seem to have no understanding about the decorum around grief and loss. Your criticisms don't look edgy, they just make you look insincere. If being Royal or Royal adjacent means you deserve respect and sensitivity around the loss of HMQ, from all members of the public regardless of their personal views. Then that standard should be applied across all the RF. When it isn't, you just look like a troll.
Harry released a beautiful statement today. Whatever the posters on here are trying to do, they're not doing it for the benefit of Harry and Meghan; and they're not doing it because they care about politics or politeness. It did make me wonder if the schools were on holiday again.

Well said

Boxofsockss · 12/09/2022 14:39

She has taken all opportunities to bitch about the royal family so of course royalists aren’t going to be warm with her. She probably caused the Queen a lot of upset behind closed doors intentional or not. It’s Harry I feel sorry for, she’s completed shitted on his family and pretends she’s the victim. They can stay in America.

SpudleyLass · 12/09/2022 14:41

If as Meghan claims that the RF are so awful and racist towards her and the British public too, why was she even there.

Why would you choose to be associated with that calibre of people.

As for rudeness op, you must have missed literally everything she has done in the past two years since Megxit.

I wouldn't want to shake her hand either.

GyozaGuiting · 12/09/2022 14:41

Lots of people looked pleased to see her. I thought she was mostly well received. The media loves to whip things into a frenzy.

MrKlaw · 12/09/2022 14:41

From the multiple complaints Harry has had about press intrusion over the years he was probably halfway out the door before marrying Meghan. I doubt very much this is only Meghan's doing at all.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 12/09/2022 14:41

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 12/09/2022 14:12

This is the reason I'm not keen on Meghan. To paraphrase Lesley Sharp in the Full Monty, I don't care if she's black white or chuffing rainbow coloured. It's the stuff she's said that you can drive a coach and horses through as mentioned in this post. To imply racism on behalf of everyone who doesn't think she's wonderful is childish and lazy.

I agree

Changingmynameyetagain · 12/09/2022 14:45

I hope Meghan and Harry have a long and happy marriage, they seem very suited to each other, I still can’t stand either of them though.
The constant moaning about their life in the uk and then going on Oprah to slag us off some more, no thanks.
I think Harry has a lot of unresolved trauma from his childhood and losing his mother and he needs to deal with that.

Andrew is a disgusting person who should be in prison.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 12/09/2022 14:45

doubleshotcappuccino · 12/09/2022 13:04

Yep feel sorry for Meghan and it's clear the whole of the world's eyes will be watching carefully how she is treated ..doesn't paint us in a favourable light if we can't behave nicely whilst we mourn our Queen and when she's the only minority member of the RF. All these " can't stand her comments" .. what's the real reason she provokes such a strong response I wonder ?!

You think it’s because she has an Afro Caribbean grandmother.
Many people think it’s because she seems to be resentful that she is not the centre of attention in every occasion, and will say or do anything , however distasteful or unkind, to secure the limelight. Jessica Mulroney is a good example.

JadeSeahorse · 12/09/2022 14:45

For all those who vilify H &M for their "Behaviour", I think much more has happened behind the scenes prior to Harry even meeting Meghan. Reminds me so much of my relationship with my former family - mostly dead now - before I finally could stand no more and went totally NC 30 years ago. However, I was always made out to be the baddie! If only people knew the real truth. I sense it with Harry very much! Let's not forget, the poor guy has spent nearly 40 years living down the awful rumour he was another man's child.
I now find the "Thick as thieves" relationship between Charles and William very uncomfortable and totally isolating for Harry.
Just me but I think William comes across as a bit disingenuous and Kate just looks a bit of a "Mean girl".
Meghan I feel is a tower of strength for Harry and I think they stand a very good chance of a long and happy marriage as she has parted ways - with what appears to be good reasons - with her blood family too.
I strongly suspect once the funeral/mourning period is over, they will return to the US and we will see little of them in the UK again. Whatever, I wish them and their beautiful family all the very best for the future.

dogmandu · 12/09/2022 14:46

Just a question to those who accuse people that dislike Meghan of being racist and that their dislike is down to racism.

I'm white. There are white people I dislike for similar reasons I dislike Meghan. Am I allowed to continue to dislike white people for these reasons, or should I start to like them because they're white?

At the moment I hold all races to the same standards of behaviour. It would demean them to do otherwise. I would consider it racist to hold other races to a lesser standard of behaviour solely because of colour.

OctopusBreath · 12/09/2022 14:46

I really feel for her. She was victimized and bullied by the media from day one, and after that comment about her baby's skin colour and all the other stuff she's put up with, anything other than leaving would have meant a life of misery and silence for her and her children.
And all this stuff about her causing grief for the royals... Is she not allowed to speak about her experiences then? Is she meant to shut up and look pretty? The misogyny and racism that woman has had to endure is absolutely disgusting. There's far more talk about her causing upset to the Queen than there is Prince Andrew.

phishy · 12/09/2022 14:46

I don't care if she's black white or chuffing rainbow coloured.

This gem is on a par with 'I'm not racist but...' and 'My best friend is black...'

mamabear715 · 12/09/2022 14:47

I am very offended that (a minority, it has to be said) are still using the race card re Meghan. Can you possibly cast your minds back to her wedding? How welcomed she was, how we all loved her? If she'd kept her mouth shut & worked hard like the Princess of Wales or the Princess Royal, we would STILL have loved her!
Ye GODS.

@MelodyPondsMum how odd of you to comment on a thread you have no interest in. I'm sure you have better things to do. Jog on 🙂

You must have misread. I said your focus would be better spent on the positives, which far outweighed the negatives. I didn't mention my interest.
I'm very interested in the cult of celebrity, parasocial relationships and the social media cultists around Harry and Meghan and the RF. I'm also fascinated by the falling standards of discourse and interactions around loss, royalty and republicanism. And the implementation of DARVO techniques to create clicks, and spread disinformation.

Naicehamandfruitshoots · 12/09/2022 14:48

Peaceandcalm · 12/09/2022 14:05

I suspect the real reason is envy and their discomfort at seeing a person of colour adored by a British prince. Not to mention the lack of joy in their own lives.

This kind of rubbish has to stop, honestly sick of seeing it and reading peoples jumped up responses relating to race.
There is no doubt the media was at the forefront of the racial discrimination, however that doesn’t mean that every person who dislikes her does so because she is mixed race, get over yourself.
She is not a nice person, you can clearly see that in the way she carried herself in the Oprah interview, she was acting taking long pauses inbetween sentences waiting to drop clangers.

I did at first feel very sorry for her and actually hoped, that being a woman of colour would bring a sense of unity to the royal family and the common folk, unfortunately she ruined that so good luck to them both.

Good job you weren't there then, lots did

She was there to support her husband, that's what loving couples do

BlueKaftan · 12/09/2022 12:24

There are some who dislike Megan because she refused to accept bullying. I say good for her. California is much nicer than England.

Yet she's pleased to come back when it suits her! As the saying from the North goes, 'she wants the cake and the ha'penny'.

Burpeea · 12/09/2022 14:49

@SpudleyLass Would you shake hands with Prince Andrew? Or King Charles who spread the gossip that his mum was uncaring and cold towards her children and was also unfaithful to his wife?

likepeddlesonabeach · 12/09/2022 14:50

I have a friend who worked with MM before she married and she said she was absolutely lovely and went out of her way to be helpful to my (not famous or powerful) friend. Sure she seems a little lacking in self awareness given the enormous wealth and power she wields but no more than the rest of the royals or anyone else with unearned status and privilege.

The hate campaign against her is so targeted and specific, she’s become a hate figure and now it’s lucrative for journalists and bloggers to talk shit about her, it gets attention and that means money in an attention economy. If you hate her, think about how many times the message that she’s a witch has been fed into your brain by the media and ask yourself if you’re immune to that repetitive propaganda. She criticised her in laws in fairly tame language, so what? Millions of us do that every day.

JudgeJ · 12/09/2022 14:50

SpinCityBlues · 12/09/2022 12:29

Oh ffs just leave her be.

Maybe if she reciprocates.
