What now for M&H

I find the whole family and royal family (The Firm) aspect of Megxit very interesting.

Just wondering what now for M&H? Will they continue on with the strategy of talking and writing about the royal family or will things now change? I think the half in half out strategy on their terms would have worked for M&H but I think the RF were right to knock it on the head, it would never have worked for the RF, Harry was ready to go and Meghan was never going to just slot in with the system.

Just looking at Harry, I think the guy really needs the whole circus of fighting with the RF in public to stop, for his own mental health. He obviously has issues that he needs to come to terms with, he really needs to do this in private but this is at odds with how they need to make money now. I really fear for him the person.

If they keep going with the fighting then I think that's it for them and the RF. If they are to reconcile with the RF, how then do they make a living? I would imagine QE has left quite a provision for Harry in her will so perhaps the money making aspect will be less of a priority. I could see Charles being more open to a reconciliation but not sure about William.

Not trying to start a thread to bash anyone, just interested in other opinions.

On an unrelated note, photos of Lady Sarah Chatto made me tear she's obviously heartbroken!

Meanderings · 14/09/2022 15:44

Zara and Mike held hands too, where are the tears?

H&M you will ALWAYS BE FAMOUS 😂

completely inappropriate. Whether she ( and others) think that RF protocol is archaic and stuffy , it should be adhered to .
All the other couples managed to walk out all by themselves .
Could they not have waited until they were in the car before grabbing each other ?

OMG they actually GRABBED each other???.

bloodyplanes · 14/09/2022 15:45

@Roussette i think half the time they do these things for attention. Harry would have known full well its not the done thing to do on a state occasion but did it anyway. The sad thing is Meghan will be the one getting dragged in the tabloids for it. Have you ever seen any other person do this on a state occasion? No!! Its just not proper behaviour, they behave like needy little children who cling to each other! Its worryingly co-dependant.

reflexolog · 14/09/2022 15:45

Hand holding sounds really trivial, but it felt jarring and weird to see. Sure there's quite a few 70-plus year olds that would love a hand or a sit down, but they managed to stand and walk independently. It's all a bit public display of affection, informal, emotive, not suitable to a Queen's ceremonial procession and vigil.

Today is "hand holding" criticism

I wonder what tomorrow's will be?
Maybe "she smiled funny" when shaking hands

Someone has already slagged off her tights.lol
Meghan and Catherine both look very beautiful in my humble opinion

You can mock all you like but I cannot imagine the rest of the RF will be impressed . And judging by the comments I am seeing on FB , Twitter and from friends , even my Republican husband , the general public is not impressed .
But hey , it’s Meghan , everything is acceptable …..

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 14/09/2022 15:46

I also think there's always the feeling in the back of my mind, that Meghan was an actress, I struggle to find her expressions sincere. My issue I know, but its there.

I can't wait to watch tv later and find out what terrible thing she did.
did she make it rain?

She didn't do a great job of pretending to be upset to be honest, perhaps her acting skills are a little out of touch as it's been a few years.

If you have to resort to sneering you have list the argument

Yeah course they are 🥱

Lostinabba · 14/09/2022 15:50

Blimey I would have a lot more respect for the hard-core M&H fans if they admitted the hand holding was not appropriate at this ceremony.

If she'd have stood there blowing raspberries they'd be making excuses.

If you have to resort to exaggeration about 'grabbing each other'.....well....ditto

Oh. Her expressions were not sincere so therefore she must be acting. But since you can detect the lack of sincerity, then she's rubbish at it?

Ever consider the fact that she's just BEING HERSELF?

You wouldn't have to twist anything to fit into your shady view of her.

blobby10 · 14/09/2022 15:51

I thought Meghan looked much younger and more beautiful today than she has done before but, like many others, just wish that she and Harry would stop with the hand holding every bloody minute! It would only have been a 100 metre walk at most before getting anonymously into a car where they could clutch away at each other as much as they wanted.

This ....they will literally defend anything and ignore any comments they can't dispute with facts, accusations of racism or just good old fashioned abuse 🙄

I actually don't mind her, but she did like she was more or less smirking, you'd think a talented actress would be able to look sorrowful for ten minutes or so.

They weren't part of the formal procession. And I've said the same if they were!

Because it's never a surprise that racists loathe H&M.

It PAINS them that a mixed race woman married into that institution.

Some of them believe that her blood tainted the institution, some of them want their children removed from the line of succession.

Yes, they do.

I saw them photoshopping monkey onto Meghan's face, calling her a n*** in instagram comments.

Every bit of criticism will have me side eyeing you as a racist.

EdieLedwell · 14/09/2022 15:57

I thought the ceremony was wonderful. It should be about the Queen. She deserves that much surely?

OK... give me some respect then if I explain what I feel. @Lostinabba

Personally I think that perhaps they should not have held hands. OK? But my reasons are convoluted....
Firstly... it would quite obviously open them up to being slated and yes, they could have left off doing that for this one time.
Secondly.... when you have been on these threads for years you (meaning me) actually think FFS what now, what has she done wrong. It's like the boy with his finger in the dam, the crying wolf... people talk like it is a crime of the century, when really it isn't...
Then there's probably 100 posts about it with posters getting more and more angry and nasty about her. Saying how awful she is for doing this, it goes to prove what a truly terrible human being she is.
Hand holding will join the list of the flowers yesterday, the unroyal crossing of legs, the made up story of walking in front the Queen, the one shouldered dress, the bridesmaids tights, the 3 day wedding and so on.
It will be brought up in 3 years mark my words.

It's criticism fatigue for me is what I mean.
