The royal family

What now for M&H

I find the whole family and royal family (The Firm) aspect of Megxit very interesting.

Just wondering what now for M&H? Will they continue on with the strategy of talking and writing about the royal family or will things now change? I think the half in half out strategy on their terms would have worked for M&H but I think the RF were right to knock it on the head, it would never have worked for the RF, Harry was ready to go and Meghan was never going to just slot in with the system.

Just looking at Harry, I think the guy really needs the whole circus of fighting with the RF in public to stop, for his own mental health. He obviously has issues that he needs to come to terms with, he really needs to do this in private but this is at odds with how they need to make money now. I really fear for him the person.

If they keep going with the fighting then I think that's it for them and the RF. If they are to reconcile with the RF, how then do they make a living? I would imagine QE has left quite a provision for Harry in her will so perhaps the money making aspect will be less of a priority. I could see Charles being more open to a reconciliation but not sure about William.

Not trying to start a thread to bash anyone, just interested in other opinions.

Harry better write everything he wants in his book. I hope to hear how he feels about this particular event.

Why would he care? He wanted out, he's out. Isn't this what he actually wants?

Maybe he doesn't but I'd like to hear all about it in his biography.

Roussette · 12/09/2022 13:49

Andrew weaseling his way back in then wearing military uniform at the vigil. Crass, misguided and tone deaf.
Yes, he's lost his mother, but he could take a back seat out of respect to her, but his entitled arrogance won't let him

It will be a massive whinge fest. No doubt you'll adore it all Grin

smilesy · 12/09/2022 13:49

Except Andrew will wear uniform at the vigil but Harry will not.

@Meanderings have you read the tweets you have linked. They mention Andrew wearing uniform at the vigil. They do not say that Harry is going to hold vigil. Neither of them will wear uniform at the funeral service. The vigil is not the funeral service.

I'm surprised Charles is allowing him, very bad optics for the RF.

I thought he'd been stripped of his military appointments? How can he be wearing a uniform,?

LondonWolf · 12/09/2022 13:52

I have to say, being ex military myself, that Harry, as a veteran, should be allowed to wear his uniform if he wants to. This shouldn't even be A Thing.

Here's another one for you, Harry will be at the Vigil, confirmed

twitter.com/scobie/status/1569298120592265217

CONFIRMED: I understand that, unlike Prince Andrew, Prince Harry will NOT be allowed to wear uniform at the final vigil in Westminster Hall. No doubt a huge blow for the Duke of Sussex, who served for 10 years and this morning spoke of the Queen being his “commander-in-chief”.

He's completely incorrigible. Charles would do well to put him straight from day one

That weird hand slide all the way down the back of Eugenie's body, outside Balmoral, gave me the creeps. Ugh

So has Andrew, why is he wearing a uniform?

NorthernMountainCaribou · 12/09/2022 13:53

@Meanderings I struggle to understand this sycophantic hero worship for someone you presumably have never met? There are a lot of people far more worthy of pity than Prince Harry

He was actually in the military and fought in an actual conflict. That isn't some name only military appointment like other members of the royal family have. I need to look up the regs around ex military wearing uniform actually. It seems like this is a grey area.

smilesy · 12/09/2022 13:54

From what I have read, I get the impression that this will be Andrew’s last hurrah as it were. I don’t think he’s going to be allowed to get back in to public service. Whatever we all think of the man ( most of which is unprintable), this is his mother’s funeral. 🤷‍♀️

Roussette · 12/09/2022 13:54

Meanderings · 12/09/2022 13:52

Exactly. Andrew playing dress up at the vigil for his mother is ridiculous.

And Harry not

Not a good look for the RF

NorthernMountainCaribou · 12/09/2022 13:55

No offence but Omid Scobie has been notably inaccurate in a lot of his briefings recently. He didn't realise Scotland was part of the UK in one. He said the queen was being transported by Royal Train to London. I don't think he has the latest information.

Why should he have a last hurrah?

He had that at his father's service, giving interviews to the press

No wonder Harry gets pissed off

Who says I pity him? I'm just calling out the disgusting way he's being treated.

An accused child rapist is being treated better than he is???

No one has been able to explain why Andrew gets an exception to wear a military uniform but Harry doesn't?

smilesy · 12/09/2022 13:56

@Meanderings That may be the case but I would like a more reliable source. That tweet is from Scobie. He doesn’t have a great track record at knowing what is actually happening at the moment.

Sure, I'll see if someone else can confirm it.

LondonWolf · 12/09/2022 13:58

Ok, it seems that ex forces officers, may wear their uniform for formal occasions though some sources say they have to seek permission and it must be occasions which befit the wearing of it and do not bring it into disrepute.

That truly is a kick in the teeth for Harry, really not nice of his family.

Well I hope he HAS got it wrong because for a brief moment I had been hoping that Charles would sweep away the crap that has gone on. If he gives into PA, there are going to be problems with nothing changing
