The royal family

What now for M&H

I find the whole family and royal family (The Firm) aspect of Megxit very interesting.

Just wondering what now for M&H? Will they continue on with the strategy of talking and writing about the royal family or will things now change? I think the half in half out strategy on their terms would have worked for M&H but I think the RF were right to knock it on the head, it would never have worked for the RF, Harry was ready to go and Meghan was never going to just slot in with the system.

Just looking at Harry, I think the guy really needs the whole circus of fighting with the RF in public to stop, for his own mental health. He obviously has issues that he needs to come to terms with, he really needs to do this in private but this is at odds with how they need to make money now. I really fear for him the person.

If they keep going with the fighting then I think that's it for them and the RF. If they are to reconcile with the RF, how then do they make a living? I would imagine QE has left quite a provision for Harry in her will so perhaps the money making aspect will be less of a priority. I could see Charles being more open to a reconciliation but not sure about William.

Not trying to start a thread to bash anyone, just interested in other opinions.

@Meanderings you honestly think he is happily ensconced in Frogmore Cottage with his wife? I doubt that.

I think Harry should be allowed to wear military uniform and that it should be Andrew alone who should not wear it.

@EdieLedwell

It's from a Vanity Fair article, seems well researched. Try reading it before sneering 😀

@Meanderings Are you ok ? You seem incredibly het up about people ( I assume) you don’t know .
My late mother’s solution to everything was a cup of tea . Maybe try it . .

I do feel for MM as I can't imagine she ever expected to have the family reconciliation under such sad circumstances.

I think she blamed the family for how the press treated her. As a Hollywood actress, she probably thought that the papers in the Uk run in the same way they do in the US, which isn't the case.

I think someone needed to explain to her how it all works, and maybe then she'd be able to build bridges with the family. But with everything going on ATM, there's no time for that.

Imagine getting treated worse than an accused rapist, who swore he never met the woman, then paid the woman off.

Everyday that family of his proves him right.

I hope he talks about this in his book, let the whole world know!

I have read it. Why do you think I haven't?

It's still a Hollywood source.

EdieLedwell · 12/09/2022 13:36

I think Harry will stand vigil with his brother and his cousins over the coffin when it arrives at Westminster.

I also think he'll walk behind it, again with his brother.

I expect we'll see Meghan travelling with the family too.

of course every country has history. But change is inevitable. If we all stuck with history (the devil we know), we would never have inventions or progress.

I think it is time for soul searching without knee jerk ...”but what about Boris? What about Trump” (both are no longer in power precisely because of democracy) as a lazy excuse for a non-democratic, religious and class-based HoS.

You are either wilfully, or ignorantly misunderstanding my words.

smilesy · 12/09/2022 13:40

I’m not sure Harry will stand vigil. He was not really even supposed to be in the country atm. It is also only whilst standing vigil that Andrew has been allowed to wear uniform. As Harry is not apparently wearing uniform at any time, my feeling is he will not be in the vigil. I may be mistaken of course

OliviaBean · 12/09/2022 13:40

I just ready that Andrew gets to wear a military uniform and Harry does not.

WTAF!!

Presumably it was QE's wish but WOW, just WOW.

I read that he isn't. All the working royals are but Harry and Andrew will be in suits.

But Harry IS standing vigil. Only the accused rapist who paid his victim off, gets the exception of wearing military uniform as a non working royal

Again, Harry is well rid of them all.

Ah right, sorry cross post.

Blimeyheck. A quick namesearch shows you like your Harry and Meghan threads, don't you?
Have a quick search of yourself. How many snippy little comments have you made about her over the last couple of years.
Get a hobby.

Why do you care @PAFMO ? If you don't like it, don't read it.

NorthernMountainCaribou · 12/09/2022 13:43

I imagine that the Queen made and signed off on the funeral arrangements - hence Andrew having this exception... It is for one event I believe. Not great optics

hop321 · 12/09/2022 13:44

I think the issue is that every time we see H&M in public, it inevitably feels like content for their next interview or book.

I don't doubt that Harry is grieving his grandmother, as with the rest of the family, but he's caused her too much anguish over the last year to be welcomed back into centre stage for the period of mourning.

It might be irrational but it didn't feel quite right when Meghan was walking round looking at the flowers. For me, she's bad-mouthed the RF too often to earn the right to represent them at those type of events. Supporting Harry as his wife at the funeral is fair enough.

I'm not particularly pro-Royal but H&M have been wholly insensitive to upset the Queen who was already struggling with losing her husband and ill health. Not sure the RF or the public will be quick to forgive them for that.

Lampzade · 12/09/2022 13:44

I saw a video of Andrew ‘consoling’ his daughter Eugenie. To say I was shocked by what I saw is an understatement.
It has become increasingly clear that Meghan has been thrown under the bus in order to deflect attention away from other senior royals.
Some posters continue to talk about the distress Meghan caused to the Queen and Philip. Absolute codswallop.
The Queen has a son who was close friends with a convicted sex trafficker. One of the victims was paid 12 million by a member of the royal family yet some of you focus on an American actress holding the hands of her husband.
As I said previously, I believe that Meghan and Harry will be vindicated.

I suppose however it would look weird if there is this military looking vigil in front of the coffin and there is Andrew wearing a suit. It is I suppose like a guard of honour.

Not great optics 😂

Harry better write everything he wants in his book. I hope to hear how he feels about this particular event.

Harry will be in a suit as well, why is it weird for one and not for the other.

Please stop grasping at straws 😏

Why would he care? He wanted out, he's out. Isn't this what he actually wants?
