Surely he will now accept that it would be very insensitive to release a book that negatively targets his family?8

dalilicios · 09/09/2022 02:11

Definitely. I doubt he would though at this point to release his beef with the establishment his late gran was head of.

Toomanybooks22 · 09/09/2022 02:18

It would be very insensitive but I would be very interested to know if it's a decision for him or the publishers now.

You vile people can't go five minutes without attacking Harry and Meghan, can you?

Disgraceful to exploit the Queen's death in order to slam Meghan. Shame on you!

Totally agree...all it is about is attention seeking (despite pleading for privacy) and gobbling up the cash. The fact that the Sussex children are now a prince and princess makes it even worse whilst enthroned in their pad in Monticito. In the same category as the dreadful Yorks.

I am hugely sad at HM passing but look forward to King Charles doing some significant pruning of the royal family.

expat101 · 09/09/2022 03:12

I hope it will never see the light of day and that Harry still has some control over this...

fallfallfall · 09/09/2022 03:29

the york girls have jobs, they are capable of employment. all royals except for a few should be able to seek work. they are all educated. of course they can equally choose to be sahm if they so choose.
rules and regulations that prevent them from employment should be swiftly reviewed. security wise yes they will find it a challenge but it should be entirely possible.

Liorae · 09/09/2022 03:49

I suspect that the York girls have sinecures rather than real jobs.

MrsClarkandPercy · 09/09/2022 04:22

I would question the judgement of anyone one who has that strange Scobie guy as their press secretary. ...

Maireas · 09/09/2022 04:31

The York "girls" are women in their 30s.

fallfallfall · 09/09/2022 04:32

regardless @Liorae it's a first step.

MrsMaxDeWinter · 09/09/2022 04:41

The Queen is dead, after 70 years of long and loyal service.

Instead of celebrating her life and mourning her loss, you choose to make it about Harry and Meghan.

Think for a minute about what that says about you that you can't wait to have a pop. You are deeply unpleasant people.

Hate for M,&H transcends the death of a Monarch who has been so for 70 years. Appalling.

Just look to yourselves and just try and imagine what it says about you to anyone.

fallfallfall · 09/09/2022 05:35

Oddly it’s out of total respect for her that I loath the actions of h&m. Their past behavior is untrustworthy. I can only hope she’s able to Rest In Peace.

BillLius · 09/09/2022 05:53

I can only hope that Harry is swearing allegiance to his Liege and signing the biggest NDA of his life.

rocketfromthecrypt · 09/09/2022 06:00

I really can't see it happening this year, now. If nothing else I think it would look quite bad on the publishers? Could be wrong though - perhaps any publicity it good publicity.

Madamecastafiore · 09/09/2022 06:41

It's incredibly sad that their actions caused the Queen pain during the last few years of her life, especially as she also lost her husband during that period. I hope they can reflect on their self serving behaviour and put a stop to this nonsense now.

SeaSwimming22 · 09/09/2022 07:24

I read that the proceeds of the book will be donated to charity by Harry, so there should be nothing stopping him from suspending publication, or even cancelling completely, out of respect. The phrase “read the room”’ comes to mind.

00100001 · 09/09/2022 07:27

Maybe this will change everything for them.

Bestcatmum · 09/09/2022 07:30

I think there will be a very sharp backlash against them if they publish anything like that now. The queen was much respected.

Readinginthesun · 09/09/2022 07:53

I am no fan of H and M but is this really the time to start a thread to encourage criticism?

I agree with this.

Launch was always announced as end 2022 - obviously aimed for the hot-spot Thanksgiving / Christmas market.

Appears that it has already been written and signed off by Harry - I wonder if he has any regrets. It’s likely he has zero control to edit or decide the launch date at this point if the process has moved out of his hands.

It will be the call of the giant that is Penguin Random House. They will do the maths to calculate sales in the early days of HMQs death vs any bad PR for them as a corporate.

They won’t give a shit about any bad PR for PH or the RF - only how far that backfires on them.

Who knows they might rethink the project and consider that a few new chapters of family reconciliation or total wipeout/fireworks in the next few months will be worth waiting for for a blockbuster ending…..or that just becomes volume two.

I wonder how much - if any - control PH has on the process.

i imagine PA caused a lot of pain.
I hope his book doesn't come out. the M haters will just find something else to hate though.

Seemslikeaniceday · 09/09/2022 08:07

If I was H I would be quite worried now the Queen is no longer here as I believe she tempered Charles and Williams public responses. The message she put out was so clever as it immediately stoped the negative press cycle whilst keeping the door wide open for H & M to change their minds.
