It feels like we're being slowly prepared for her passing away. I feel unexpectedly tearful.

I was 4 when King George died. Everywhere’s was closed, I remember my mum and my Nan in tears. I am sure there will only be one day of closures this time.

Maybe a PR person knows there will be media and photographers and a drop sign looks ugly?

Because it's not fitting for the footage and pictures to follow.

I expect it is because there are going to be so many photos and so much footage and it was a bit ugly.

It does seem that they are watching and waiting for an announcement at Balmoral as they aren't showing the rolling tape about the Queen as they were.

Will the news announcers announce it or will we wait for Charles?

Very sad, she has given her life to service and kept a pure reputation unlike some of her children. Definitely sounds like end of life now. Bless her, I don’t think we will ever get another one like her.

I’m really tearful and sad, but I am a old royalist, always thought she would make it to 100.

But when I say the pictures on Monday I thought she just looked so frail.

Hope all her loved ones get there in time to be at her bedside.

I was saying yesterday those photos of her with Liz Truss looked photoshopped. She's probably been poorly for a while.

I have a lump in my chest and have been dreading this inevitability since Prince Phillip passed away.

Friend in the media was told this morning, hours before the Palace statement, that it would be today. BBC news says that Prince Harry has travelled to Balmoral, was he in the US ? If so he must have been told early this morning at the latest.
I hoped she would make her 100th birthday celebrations.

I saw her latest picture and it shocked me;
how tiny she now looks, how incredibly fragile
and yet still with her trademark warm smile.

I've no bloody clue what H&M are up to now
but nothing they've been doing for the past 3 years
could have helped the Queen to "keep calm and
carry on".

I doubt there will be a sudden announcement on any rolling news channel - probably all channels playing the NA simultaneously, then a formal announcement - that's how it was when the Duke of Edinburgh died.

I can't get on with anything. Just sitting here watching the TV and waiting. I think an announcement is imminent. We all knew this day would come and quite soon but now it's here I feel very emotional.
