Well having studied psychology I do know that MM is doing the opposite to resolve H’s anger issues (whatever he has) by stoking them in this way. The problem is that she appears to be incapable of meaningful deep relationships herself on equal terms. She has fallen out with her family, his family, his friends can’t stand her - and of course it is everyone else’s fault. She has a psychological problem

I wonder how Serena feels. This podcast was supposed to be about ambition and a celebration of Serena’s career - but it’s anything but. Serena has been pushed to the side as it’s about Meghan. I wonder if Mandela lie was premeditated or if Serena’s success got under her skin and she just blurted it out.

Serena did do a U-turn regarding their friendship though. First of all, before Meghan met Harry, she was asked about Meghan and she dismissed Meghan’s claims of friendship. But now they appear to be BFF.

I wonder if Serena overestimates Meghan’s influence and is dazzled by her position as a Duchess of the BRF. Or maybe theirs is a genuine friendship. Time will tell I guess.

Yes they would still be Prince and Princess Henry. But nothing to stop them ceasing to use their titles completely. I think they might then claw back a smidgen of respect .

It absolutely is possible to remove the title of Prince using the mechanism of Letters Patent as used in 1996 after Diana's divorce.

Surely though it would be best for H&M to voluntarily cease to use the titles.

Meghan seems attached to the idea of having become a fairytale/Disney princess by virtue of marrying a prince. Something that seems at odds with also championing feminism surely?

reviews I met thought it was ironic that MM got one of the greatest ever tennis players to interview then spent most of the time talking about herself. Just wonder how many celebrities will be willing to be treated in this manner. A woman who has achieved everything in her field relegated to second place by a woman who has achieved next to nothing.

It seems to me that a large part of this is simply good old fashion lust. She is a dazzlingly beautiful woman and Harry is besotted with her and is therefore blind to any of her faults. Men put up with any amount of crazy for a drop dead gorgeous woman.

I looked at the photos referred to in the Cut article. The picture of Meghan sitting in her 'throne' (their description) at the desk made me laugh out loud when I saw the empty throne with H on it. So ridiculously pretentious.

I think it’s just an Hermes blanket! Not actually monogrammed 😀

I don’t know if she’s dazzlingly beautiful, she knows her angles as most actresses do but her side profile isn’t great which is part of the reason I would think she always stares at the camera.

With the amount of retouching and photoshopping these days, I’d never judge beauty on a photo.

Well, beauty is of course in the eye of the beholder but it would be very difficult to say that she's not an attractive woman, at worse.

i think she’s pretty and has something about her like the way she talks and her manner that is quite attractive.

the thing I don't understand is why people are so offended by them using their titles.
also surely if you go down the route of taking away the "prince" siting the fact he is a non working royal (leaving M out as her title is only because of him) then the york women. PA and any other non working royals would have to have theirs taken awy.

Yes the discussion of colourism and light skin privilege is an interesting one and an ongoing conversation in communities of colour. Meghan has benefited from being fairer skinned (privilege) in the US however, my interpretation of what she means is that when she started with Harry she had never been othered as much as she was. This statement is guaranteed to annoy many people even though it may be true for her.

Samcro I understand that you personally may not be offended by H&M continuing to use their royal titles but surely to goodness you must by now have an idea of why so many people are offended by this??
