queenofarles

It keeps her in the press.
Of the two podcasts she has done so far only this 'Faux pas' has really kept either in the eye of the press or anyone else.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the remaining podcasts.

The podcasts and associated interview have certainly proved informative and entertaining, but possibly not in the way originally intended.

Ohnonevermind · 01/09/2022 21:26

It will be interesting to see how MM interacts with someone as smart, quick-witted and funny as Mindy Kaling.

Ohnonevermind · 01/09/2022 21:29

As someone above posted she has the self awareness of the character Michael Scott from the Office so it could be fun, but edited out probably

queenofarles · 01/09/2022 21:31

Well for future podcasts ,I just hope she stays away from comparing their lives to the struggles of Civil rights activists, it’s really not the same.

FoggyCrumpet · 01/09/2022 21:34

Just to lighten the thread here are a couple of trees growing from one base that I saw on my walk today. I saw lots like it actually but didn't bother to take photos of them all. I suppose that is in no way as meaningful as a pair of feature palm trees outside one's house. Must be why I have never looked at a pair of trees like this and thought "how romantic, true love, joined at the hip". Conjoined twins maybe? Confused

She has gravitas. I think all that's going to disappear when she goes

Actually, William has gravitas as well.

Not to me he doesn't, but we are all entitled to our opinions

derxa · 01/09/2022 21:41

Novella4 · 01/09/2022 21:04

@MaulPerton I haven't seen any gravitas but hes certainly bad termpered looking if that will do

I genuinely think William is fab.

NoName2223 · 01/09/2022 21:45

The posters who repeatedly post whataboutery relating to PA to deflect from criticism of MM do it because they cannot defend MM.
It’s obvious to everyone and it’s pathetic, and dull. If you genuinely support her (or do it on a professional basis) then surely you can do better than whataboutery. Stand by her words and actions and defend them.

Novella4 · 01/09/2022 21:48

On a professional basis ??

Paranoid much ?

Excellent comment. It's dead cat city on here.

Arnaquer · 01/09/2022 21:49

Agree I despise PA and have said on other threads.
Like many I thought MM was a breath of fresh air and could really add some to the RF but she has for me been a disappointment. She could have used her platform for so much good but she has shown herself to be all about herself.

Archie?

I'm not surprised you can already write so well!

.Egomania and pompous hectoring are hardly anything new in Hollywood, but rarely has a power couple had so little talent or charm to balance those things out.

it seemed William lied about his Covid status. If you don’t have to share it, you say it is a private matter. But you don’t lie and say repeat my no, you don’t have it, when you actually know you do.

if you don’t trust Meghan because apparently she has not told the truth (about fairly trivial stuff)

Well surely you also don't trust William because apparently he lied (about not such trivial stuff)?

and IMO, lying about Covid is actually quite a big deal for any senior public facing figure.

NoName2223 · 01/09/2022 22:51

Yawn.
More whataboutery - William this time.

Covidlies · 01/09/2022 22:53

From the DM -

Robert Jobson took to Twitter to slam the news, saying: 'The fact is the palace lied about it. KP were are asked several times by several media outlets whether Prince William had contracted the virus and were told categorically “no”. The decision was taken to LIE, thus creating a problem of trust going forward. Poor judgement.

'If the palace is prepared to LIE about an issue as serious as Prince William, second in line to the throne, contracting COVID-19 what else have they LIED about when questioned by the press and why should the media believe any denials going forward? This raises serious issues.'

Richard Palmer, royal reporter for the Daily Express, tweeted: 'If the future King contracts a potentially fatal virus that the entire world is worried about during a lockdown and he and those around him cover it up, that raises serious questions about whether we can trust anything he or his advisers say.

LondonWolf · 01/09/2022 23:04

I think you're absolutely right.

Covidlies · 01/09/2022 23:12

I’m not defending MM. I think lying can really erode trust.

what I don’t understand is if you are outraged by MM’s supposed lies, why aren’t you outraged by Williams?

usually when you have a discussion, you say x did something bad and then the other person says yes . And gosh do you know y did something even worse? And you sort of get into the spirit of things.

I just do not understand the blind need to defend some members of the RF. I would say apply Mumsnet forensics to all of them

StormzyinaTCup · 01/09/2022 23:15

I'll indulge you in your whataboutery.

if you don’t trust Meghan because apparently she has not told the truth (about fairly trivial stuff)

Well surely you also don't trust William because apparently he lied (about not such trivial stuff)?

Since when did lying to a court become fairly trivial stuff?

and IMO, lying about Covid is actually quite a big deal for any senior public facing figure.

and IMO not as big a deal as lying to a court.

Covidlies · 01/09/2022 23:23

I thought this thread was about apparently lying or bigging some comparison to Mandela.

of course committing perjury is a big deal and carries a criminal sentence.

would you agree then, that along with not trusting MM, you do not trust William? Because they both have apparently lied?

StormzyinaTCup · 01/09/2022 23:28

I would trust PW over MM any day of the week. Her manipulation and habitual embellishment of the truth is racking up by the day.

NoName2223 · 01/09/2022 23:36

Who cares whether we trust PW? What a weird question. PW isn’t the subject of this thread. MM has told lies. Those lies are not diminished in any way by someone else - PW or anyone - telling or not telling lies.
It’s pure nonsensical deflection. And is that all you’ve got?
