@StormzyinaTCup of course !
That's it ! The guy who was joking about covid being a 'cough' and being hyped up was so concerned about others that he just had to lie about having it himself

That's definitely it .

susan12345678 · 01/09/2022 20:09

Yes, the pregnancy that they thoughtfully announced on Miscarriage Awareness Dsy

To derail the discussion.

Gilmorehill · 01/09/2022 20:14

I keep replying to people’s comments but then the original comment isn’t shown!

Roussette · 01/09/2022 20:17

This thread is hilarious!

When are avocados, coat flicking and poisoning Charlotte with flowers going to be brought up?

It's only a matter of time! 🤣

SilverLiningPlaybook · 01/09/2022 20:17

I imagine having both the heirs to the throne with Covid at the same time might have caused some alarm.

catinboots123 · 01/09/2022 20:18

GrouchyKiwi · 01/09/2022 20:04

Ooops. Wrong thread. Grin

No necessarily so......

catinboots123 · 01/09/2022 20:19

*not

Novella4 · 01/09/2022 20:19

@SilverLiningPlaybook
No - on the contrary .
The pandemic perfectly highlighted how utterly useless the royals were .

StormzyinaTCup · 01/09/2022 20:20

He was being flippant with his comment but I’m sorry, I can’t be horrified about the comment or the denial of having had Covid.

Novella4 · 01/09/2022 20:21

Maybe you can't

It was lying to the royal reporters repeatedly that was the issue

I think the Queen's 'We will meet again' was wonderful actually.

Funny, I remember Kate’s Hold Still exhibition and book being exceptionally well-received.

Novella4 · 01/09/2022 20:22

@Serenster good one !
Lol

Ohnonevermind · 01/09/2022 20:23

Why can poster not fathom that Meghan lies ?
Derail all you want, deflect all you want but it doesn’t change the fact at the essence of the thread Meghan lies.

I liked it.

Trouble is, this sort of thing is SO few and far between

Gilmorehill · 01/09/2022 20:24

With regards to Covid, a lot of people found the Queen’s address to the nation very moving. Far better than bumbling Boris.

I agree

She has gravitas. I think all that's going to disappear when she goes

Wartywart · 01/09/2022 20:41

Not sure why William lied about having Covid - weird. Not sure why H & M lied about going into labour - also weird.

Think Kate was more put out by Meghan initially than has been recognised. Her response to reporters when asked about the news of H & M's engagement was almost, just barely, passive-aggressive when she said something like "William and I are thrilled: it's a special time for any couple". I took from that that she thought H & M were behaving as though theirs was the biggest engagement in the history of the world bla bla bla - otherwise she could have said "It's a special time for them". Just a very small thing but I remember picking up on it at the time.

No-one comes out of all this very well really. I do think Meghan embellishes. Give her an inch and she'll take 100 miles, so people do have to be very, very careful about what they say to her, and almost to the point of recording it.

I think Kate was very wary from the beginning. That can't have helped good relations

queenofarles · 01/09/2022 20:49

Personally, I still think that she didn't make up the comment at the premiere.
actually I’m still hoping <praying> that someone comes up and say yes it did happen,

she’s very smart and savvy , and saying something like that is just so strange, comparing her wedding to Mandelas release from Prison. Why would anyone make such a thing up. She must have known that Reporters wont stop digging till they find the person.
I really don’t understand ,

MaulPerton · 01/09/2022 21:02

Actually, William has gravitas as well.

I picked up on that too . I also noticed Kate’s expression change in that Fab Four interview when Meghan
started spouting on about women’s voices.
It was just so inappropriate and out of step with the others. I picked up that K wasn’t completely won over shall we say.

Novella4 · 01/09/2022 21:04

@MaulPerton I haven't seen any gravitas but hes certainly bad termpered looking if that will do

FrippEnos · 01/09/2022 21:06

queenofarles

It keeps her in the press.
Of the two podcasts she has done so far only this 'Faux pas' has really kept either in the eye of the press or anyone else.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the remaining podcasts.
