With lying you have to understand why they’re lying
these include

  1. to get out of trouble
  2. to make themselves sound more important than they are
  3. to act the victim

Giving MM the benefit of the doubt once shame on her, repeatedly giving her the benefit of the doubt - shame on you !

Lineala · 01/09/2022 19:01

Novella4 · 01/09/2022 18:51

@Lineala
So you claim Meghan is a liar.

And you are giving Andrew the benefit of the doubt .

Therefore Meghan is worse than Andrew .

I'd tell you to back away from the internet but it's posters like you who help the republican cause

Giving Andrew what? I've not discussed my view on here so you have no idea what my view of him is. Like previous posters I pointed out the legal side is very much not as clear cut irrespective of what some choose to believe. I also pointed out that calling him a paedophile is libellious and not very clever. As pp said this thread is about MM not Andrew, so start your own thread and stop conflating the two.

BunsyGirl · 01/09/2022 19:02

@Roussette if you can’t see the difference between Andrew and Meghan I pity you. Andrew is a bad apple, a twat. We all have at least one in the family. I am a lawyer and one of my cousins is a criminal who has been inside on multiple occasions. I have no control over that. Meghan has insinuated that the Royal family are racist, as well as the press. She has implied that a whole institution is against her because of the colour of her skin. If she is lying, she is inciting racial hatred in a country that was happy to accept her into their Royal family. That’s a pretty big deal and is far more significant that a letch getting his end away with a teenager (who was above the age of consent in the U.K.).

pilates · 01/09/2022 19:03

I’m sure MM is on this thread.

How can you fall out with so many people and not ask the question “is it me?”

Samcro · 01/09/2022 19:04

Out of interest who do these poll makers ask?
I have never met any one who has taken part.
I don’t think younger people have much time for them.

Snog · 01/09/2022 19:05

Roussette what exactly is the point of trying to bring matters relating to Prince Andrew into every single thread talking about Meghan?

Wow so you think Meghan is worse than PA
says it all really

Wouldloveanother · 01/09/2022 19:07

I really wanted to like her in the beginning, I was all of a ‘breath of fresh air’ in the RF, but my God she is so unlikable! There’s probably ‘some element’ of truth to a lot of what she says, but I bet it’s stretched beyond all recognition. I think from day 1 she simply saw it as a ticket to the A-list fame she really wanted.

Snog · 01/09/2022 19:08

@samcro why are all threads about Meghan derailed to be about Prince Andrew?

Veeragall · 01/09/2022 19:08

I was so pleased when Meghan married Harry. A mixed race woman, American, divorced, someone who'd forged a successful career. Wonderful, a force for good in the royal family and just what was needed.

I cheered at her wedding. When Charles walked her up the aisle I shed a tear as he looked so proud. She looked amazing. I loved the dress she wore in the evening when she and Harry did the 'James Bond' look in the sports car. I thought she looked stunningly beautiful. I still think she is stunningly beautiful.

When they said they wanted to make new lives for themselves I could see why they wanted to do it, even if I didn't like the way they did it. I respected their desire for privacy.

Most of the people I knew felt the same.

Then came the Oprah interview. That was the end for me. The insulations, allegations, blatant untruths. The comment about the wedding not being real was a kick in the teeth to the many British people who stood and waved flags and wished them well.

And now I see her for what she is. A narcissist who only sees things from her perspective (I am in a position to know from experience how damaging this will be to those around her).

It's all so sad. So many people will be damaged in the fallout.

Mrsorganmorgan · 01/09/2022 19:10

Just read on Twitter that MM is going to sue Mariah Carey for calling her a diva. Does anyone know if this is true?

SilverLiningPlaybook · 01/09/2022 19:11

I think a lot of people feel duped and let down by her. I was another who was excited and happy for them. Hoping Harry would find the happiness he has craved for a long time. All the good will and interest in her wedding. Look how it’s ended up. She believes she really got married several days before and the wedding paid for by the taxpayer was an inconvenient charade. She seems to have contempt for the British people and believes we are all racists. She hasn’t got one positive thing to say about her time in the U.K. she trashed the RF who gave her her titles, which she uses for her own gain. It’s a sorry tale of hubris and she comes across as extremely spoilt and deluded.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 01/09/2022 19:12

I just won't believe that she made up a likening of her marriage to Mandela's release and freedom for SA

Nothing could be fairer, Marsha; as I always say, each to their own and all that.
But with all the other things she seems to have lied about, some of them provably, surely you'd agree there's room for doubt at the very least?

Even that wouldn't matter in itself, except that she chooses some very sensitive topics on which to share her views and "experiences", and on the whole they're topics where lies can be damaging

Unfortunately with these things, many forget the associated stuff and just remember the headline bits, and not always accurately even then. So I can see this being remembered as "Meghan compared herself to Mandela" - and that wouldn't be true either

Snog · 01/09/2022 19:05

Roussette what exactly is the point of trying to bring matters relating to Prince Andrew into every single thread talking about Meghan?

IMO its to do with not really having a valid argument about what is being discussed.

Which is a shame as Roussette does make valid points.

Talking about lying, I was horrified to read this about William

Robert Jobson

@theroyaleditor
Prince William’s decision to LIE about contracting COVID-19 earlier - for whatever reason - is appalling. KP were are asked several times by the media whether Prince William had contracted the virus and were told categorically “no”. This has created a serious issue of trust.

I'm beginning to feel sorry for Meghan. She seems to have no one to keep her right. If I told stories like this my DH would tell me to get a grip. Harry and her seem to be becoming more isolated. It's painful to watch. Conversely it may be a case of any publicity is good publicity and they're both laughing at us.

It's his medical info, why should be have to disclose it upon request?

Roussette · 01/09/2022 19:23

Please don't pity me. I could say all sorts of stuff about posters on here but getting personal is not the way to go
Not in my book anyway

Christ, if you are a lawyer I really feel for the judicial system

susan12345678 · 01/09/2022 19:23

I wonder what the reaction will be like when they turn up in the U.K. & Germany next week. The German media praised the Queen to the hilt during the jubilee & have been pretty scathing about Meghan’s latest antics so it should be interesting.

OP posts:
Puzzledandpissedoff · 01/09/2022 19:24

Actually I'll correct myself there: I said that it wouldn't be true to claim that Meghan compared herself to Mandela (because it was someone else's words), but of course that only applies if the remark she's shared was real

If on the other hand she's lied again - and we can't know that yet - then she would indeed have made the comparison herself, and that would be unfortunate

Veeragall · 01/09/2022 19:24

Derxa. My friend is married to someone who behaves and acts like Meghan. The last thing he would do is tell her to get a grip. Even though he knows that she has alienated him from everyone he loves (except me, I'm digging my heels in!) he cannot stand up to her. He loves her, and he is scared of the fallout if he stands up to her. It's hard to watch. Very hard.

BunsyGirl · 01/09/2022 19:26

@Samcro IF she is lying absolutely. You’re focusing on the act itself. I am focusing on the potential repercussions of her behaviour.
