As the last thread filled up & there's plenty of discussion of Meghan's interview in The Cut, seems worthwhile starting a new thread!

A read yesterday that a series of media interviews are planned to promote the podcasts. Should be very interesting if The Cut interview is anything to go by!

After the recent interviews/pod casts - I can only think at this stage that being front cover press is the only goal and Meghan doesn't really care whether this is positive or negative press. Being talked about is all that matters.

She can't possibly say the things she says and not expect the controversy that follows. The Cut was her puff piece - she controlled the content. The words came out of her mouth. After Oprah, she knows how it will be received.

The self comparison to Mandela was just cringe beyond belief. Even if someone did say this to her why repeat it. The likes of Obama (being first black US President) would never even hint at a comparison to Mandela. The lack of humility is mind boggling.

What did MM say about Nelson Mandela? I've seen some newspaper headlines that imply she compared herself to him - is that true?

She compared her wedding to his release from prison having apparently been told by a Lion King cast member that South Africa danced in the street when she got married like they did when Mandela was released.

Mandela’s grand daughter has suggested her marrying a white prince wasn’t quite the same as a political prisoner being released after 30 years in prison.

She’s never going to shut up is she? She’s mentioned she found a journal which she’s forgotten about written when she starting dating H. i don’t believe a word she says but some people lap it up.

Ive always thought H was rather stupid and vacuous, he’s proving it beyond doubt now. his family must be extremely worried about him.

what struck my was the hypocrisy of talking about how she wouldn’t be able to do the school run in the U.K. in private (not true).... while doing the school run accompanied by a journalist!! 😂🤦‍♀️

@MrsMcisaCt she said at the Lion King Premier one of the South African cast pulled her to the side and said something along the lines of - in South Africa when she married Harry they danced and celebrated in the streets the same as they did when Mandela was released.

Now whether this happened or not who knows. But even it if did, why would you repeat that story? By repeating it you are in some way saying you believe it, there is truth in it. How on earth can she think that the people of South Africa danced in the streets to celebrate a US actress marrying a white prince - in the same way that they did when Mandela was released from prison after 27 years and ending apartheid

Good grief, that is beyond embarrassing. What an ego that woman's got.

It shows a total lack of understanding of the politics in SA.

The more I think about that story, the more I cringe.

I wonder too if there was an implicit threat in the mention of the journal. If she published it the RF would be quaking in their boots. She’s always sending a message to them.

She just seems like a typical narcissist and has always come across that way to me. No ability to laugh at herself, no sense of perspective, perpetual victim mentality, pathological lying, willing to throw other people under the bus to get ahead.

And everything is now held together by hatred of Harry's family (and they're also estranged from Meghan's family), which will all come crashing down eventually.

They may have them for New Years Eve every year, sport wins (especially 'soccer'). He did not have the reference point of jubilees and other royals weddings that people feel special about over here. Regardless of what he said, and what he intended, she was the one who brought up the anecdote in the interview. Why would she do that?? Is is so unbelievably cringe.

Maybe the other couple of parents are the ones who don't always do the school run ?
The reporter then also goes on to say Archie seemed to know like clockwork what time his mum is coming for him.

The while point his that she chooses which reporter she can take, that she knows will not twist things. It's her choice now.

The connection is there in her head and she stated it. I think that is the oddest thing to have said out loud. The is nothing to say now except about past events which already sound tired and petty.

She was touched by what he said, whatever she says only certain people will make a big deal and twist it.

I never read it, but screenshots were shared on SM. She spilled all sorts about the queen ( I believe at some point complaining that HMQ was so demanding it drove her down the bottle). Press didn't make a big deal about her 'talking about inside info'.

Anyway, don't think she mentioned the so called tiara story.
