Meghan's long-awaited podcast has launched. Sorry if there's a thread about this already. Has anyone listened to it yet? Thoughts?

Sorry would you answer my question

Sorry, what is your question ?

Why K&W are getting a 4th house while the rest of the UK are on benefits ? Or why PC and HMQ are changing laws to suit them. Or why we are busy paying for someone accused of rap* to pay his way out of a court case ?
Or was your question why a couple who are away from this country are busy working ?

Sorry, didn't get it.

“recollections may vary” 😂😂

😂

Quite strange that people wanted to hear the story of Serena, the goat. Whose story we should all be quite well versed in since forever.

She was just there, chilling talking about this specific issue.
And thanks to her for debunking Bower.

The P&G story was told by her teachers. MM was also pictured at another protest that same time.

So now, MM must try to cover for the same family who did not want to protect her, her husband and child ?

The rest of the UK? Bit of an over exaggeration

Ohnonevermind · 24/08/2022 19:47

Serena is the GOAT and Meghan got a letter faked by her father from P&G - guess who I’d rather hear talk about realising their ambitions

Cloud9isnowclosed · 24/08/2022 19:48

@Nishky32 - what's the phrase "don't play chess with a pigeon" 😉

Ok then. A 'lot of British'.

There, happy now ?

I had to Google that. So funny 😂

51% apparently but that includes state pension and child benefit

I wonder has she shared the smoking heater story with the Grenfell survivors yet.

This is the best post I've read all day 🤣

insanemumof3 · 24/08/2022 20:07

Listened to the first 10 minutes then I realised she is annoying and I switched on some 80s music, sounded so much better than her podcast... which is correct isn't it? Her podcast about her told by her for her really?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 24/08/2022 20:12

Meghan talked way too much about herself and talked way too much in general

While I agree, there's nothing new in this; far too many of today's interviewers can't resist making it all about them, and on previous form it's hardly likely Meghan would pass up an opportunity to do the same

Why the hell was there any need for Harry to do a walk-on though - especially when his only significant content was "I like what you’ve done with your hair" - I mean really? The best education money can buy and that's all he can think of to say??

Poshcandle · 24/08/2022 20:15

I thought it was a massively wasted opportunity to have a properly researched and well thought out discussion about women and ambition.

I loathed the whole artificial pally atmosphere (or vibe as Harry would say) of we are such old, close friends and we are letting you into our world to share our thoughts, giggle giggle etc etc. And the cameo with Harry woodenly reading his scripted lines with the utterly cringey one claiming he liked the vibe of how Serena had styled her hair. Nauseating. But I suppose Spotify demanded a bit of Harry to get that Royal status in there for maximum profitability.

I think increasingly girls are now encouraged more than ever to be ambitious and to believe they have a place in male dominated workplaces and boardrooms. I don’t think the Royals had a problem with ambition per se, but the intention to personally profit from the platform being a Royal provided and to be open about doing that. I’m not a Royalist one bit but it’s not for anyone to show up and expect to single-handedly modernise something that is as archaic and tradition dependent as the Royal Family. She ‘hit the ground running’, seemed to dramatically overshoot the runway and take off again and start afresh in the States to make a living out of whinging about her 18 months of hellish repression, unreasonable demands and expectations of The Firm.

notanotheroneagain · 24/08/2022 20:19

Lol. Trust MNers to have a go at mixed race Kygiros, when the podcast clearly posted about the infamous meltdowns of John McEnroe.

😂😂😂

MaulPerton · 24/08/2022 20:19

Had they reversed their 'archetypes'? Now that would be interesting.

HeddaGarbled · 24/08/2022 20:24

“The moment we landed, we had to drop [Archie] off at this housing unit they had us staying in” when they were staying in a fucking mansion?

If she genuinely said that, and they really were staying in a mansion, that’s a disgusting thing to say. Deliberate and malicious lie.

TeddyTed · 24/08/2022 20:26

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/08/2022 14:46

I’m guessing the transcript is me, me me me me, you’re all a bunch of bastards, me,me me me.

😂😂😂

Maybe ...

The great Serena Williams hardly needs anyone to prop up her lustre, but I suppose it adds a bit of gravitas for the interviewer (or might have done if he could have thought of something sensible to say)

I do want to hear about Serena's career. She's one of my fav sports people of all time.

MarshaMelrose · 24/08/2022 20:29

Poor Harry. Juggling outside windows and commenting on hair. It's a bit try-hard to slot him in these podcasts somewhere. I wonder if there are concerns that they need him on the show to keep the RF name involved?

derxa · 24/08/2022 20:32

Why K&W are getting a 4th house while the rest of the UK are on benefits I'm perfectly comfortable thanks.

They mocked his accent. I've had that done to me and I was crying inside. Meghan has no respect for her husband.

But more to the point this was the chance to hear about her behind the scene life and the things we didn't already know, and how it felt for her.

The story about her baby breaking her wrist before a major tennis match was heartbreaking and instead of being allowed to explore that issue and use it as a springboard for talking about what pressures high-profile mothers face in those situations and what that can mean for society we ended up with a competitive parenting story which didn't address any of those issues just ended up being a whine about the I assume royal family or Harry and Meghan's staff because all we heard was a mysterious 'they' - 'they' had us staying in a housing unit, 'they' said we had to go to the next engagement, etc etc.
