Meghan's long-awaited podcast has launched. Sorry if there's a thread about this already. Has anyone listened to it yet? Thoughts?

I am reminded of the late Alan Clarke, who confessed to being “economical with the actualite”.

except, of course, he owned up. Which is a big difference.

with Meghan, I am firmly in the Judge Judy school of thought: “don’t piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining”.

I’m not sure who Judge Judy is but I’m firmly with you on the above.

Mummyoflittledragon · 24/08/2022 12:42

I think Meghan is mistaken in thinking she couldn’t be ambitious. She was expected to work with the RF and respect institution.

Agree with PP that Serena is amazing and deserved some better questions and more listening!!

re housing unit: indeed disrespectful especially considering they were visiting a township that day. I am sure they stayed in some official residence not a dorm. If there was a real fire we would have heard about it earlier and I am sure baby was never left alone and always watched on monitors etc

i am more and more convinced she is a narcissist with no real empathy for others.

AdriannaP · 24/08/2022 13:46

Ok just googled they stayed at the British High Commissioner’s residence in Cape Town.

”The nine-bedroomed Cape Town residence features traditional Cape Dutch architecture while inside has the style of a grand English country lodge, with a 20-seater table round which the couple host lavish dinner parties.”

LondonWolf · 24/08/2022 13:49

More details seem to say that there was a smoking heater, which was immediately unplugged and Archie wasn't in the room, nowhere near in fact. So no actual fire.

AdriannaP · 24/08/2022 13:54

“recollections may vary” 😂😂

Loveatortie · 24/08/2022 14:01

I had paint to watch drying, much more interesting 😁

Badger1970 · 24/08/2022 14:03

She certainly has a lot to say for herself. I'm just not sure that it's very authentic to be truthful. Everything she/they do just comes over as so forced and self-aware. They had chance to do so much good, yet all I've seen from both is self promotion.

I'm really not sure what their place is and I suspect neither do they.

queenofarles · 24/08/2022 14:10

Ok just googled they stayed at the British High Commissioner’s residence in Cape Town. that’s hardly a housing unit 😵‍💫.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/08/2022 14:46

I’m guessing the transcript is me, me me me me, you’re all a bunch of bastards, me,me me me.

Wonnle · 24/08/2022 14:48

I've never agreed with Piers Morgan in my life apart from what he said about MM

sunshinesupermum · 24/08/2022 14:56

I posted on a separate thread: Meghan Again, and mostly got slated. Good to see people here agree with me.

TheDogsMother · 24/08/2022 15:03

Didn't we learn from the Oprah interview that Meghan has her own 'truth' so she will have plenty more material for future podcasts.

Laughing about the 'housing unit'

“recollections may vary” 😂😂

You're being a bit unfair, Arianna. Now she's in a 14 bedroom house, that mere 9 bedroom house might have felt very pokey looking back. 😂😂

mathanxiety · 24/08/2022 15:08

@notanotheroneagain - YYY, agree.

Ohnonevermind · 24/08/2022 15:19

The reality and Meghan’s truth are so different in relation to the Archie incident, i nearly am looking forward to more similar fantasy anecdotes.

Maria’s feet ‘repel flat shoes’ in her own words so I’m expecting MM to say the RF made her wear heels when she was pregnant despite the fact someone fell down some steps the week before

tulipfancy · 24/08/2022 15:31

I'm afraid she comes across as very privileged, out of touch and very light with the truth and cold hard facts. She tries to look identifiable and relatable, all very female empowerment, but isn't at all. Everything is made to suit a victimhood narrative against the royal family. I'm sure she's wishing she'd been part of it longer, so that there would be several more 'anecdotes' she could pull out of the woodwork, not just one or two, dressed up, to be repeated ad infinitum for the rest of this sorry publicity parade.

She was until she was bullied out of the country and needed to get a job. Hence the podcast…

Yep. They just keep revealing who they are with everything they do or say.

A 'fire breaking out in a bedroom' turns out to have been a smoking appliance. It's all just constant overegging. I wonder if anyone in their team just thinks seriously just shh, your making yourselves look silly now.

MaulPerton · 24/08/2022 15:46

It is becoming increasingly apparent that both the RF and, in fact, H, are dealing with someone who appears to have an unconventional relationship with reality and also themselves. Uncomfortable to watch. The P & G anecdote...

ilyx · 24/08/2022 15:48

Maireas · 24/08/2022 08:56

I think it's a very good point that women who are ambitious are criticised and seen as threatening. However, it seemed to me to be off tangent, and Meghan would be wise to take some advice about technique. There were some valid points, but I don't know what the P&G letter or the near miss with the fire had to do with ambition and women, so I hope maybe programmes featuring Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton will be a bit tighter.

Are you joking?? Kate was dragged for ten years for being lazy, not working, no one criticised Meghan because of ambition it was because she was a serial bully.

IrisVersicolor · 24/08/2022 15:33

Erm she was bullied? Are you sure you’re not thinking of the numerous HR complaints made against her and the young female employees she drove out of a job?

AdriannaP · 24/08/2022 16:20

Who is Maria flat shoes?
