I am just interested to see your opinions about the royal family. No judgement. And it can be from any royal family, not just the British one.

I think realistically it is difficult for them to have normal jobs…and really this just applies to Beatrice and Eugenie as Peter and Zara work for themselves. I don’t think the girls…when they did work did 5 day weeks there was a lot of engagement around that was being done in their own time but Beatrice would still be on maternity and Eugene doesn’t appear to have gone back to work and os doing increasing charity.

I read that Eugenie is spending half of her time in Europe (Portugal?) for Jack's job, so it must be difficult for her to work at the moment.

That as well but she is back in the UK doing a fair bit of charity. She many be doing work remotely foR her job or she may have given up. I need to check the gallery website.

Eugenie and Beatrice have been frightfully busy begging for a ‘job’ and title(s) for daddy.

Fortunately they got told to feck off, and I suspect that will not be an unpopular move on Charles’s part.

HOW has he managed to convince his mother, his (ex) wife, and his daughters that he is a worthwhile individual?

SpinCityBlues · 28/08/2022 09:06

I suppose, @BadgerB because they WANT to believe it, either out of misplaced adoration (queen), big house and money (ExW), and social position, free royal residences and money (the York daughters).

I really can’t abide them. I don’t feel sorry for them if they are prepared to ‘believe’ in daddy for venal reasons. I feel rather revolted by the whole York family actually.

The girls would have their position, accommodation etc anyway. Whatever Charles feels, or William, and quite ignoring their marriages, they'd hardly see the Princesses homeless if they sided with them against their Father. You could argue they'd gain more respect and royal privilege by doing so if anything.

That's the question, isn't it? Sarah Ferguson is a puzzler anyway, but the daughters?
They really must believe he's innocent in order to lobby Charles in that way.

Roussette · 28/08/2022 10:23

What is gobsmacking is...Eugenie is Patron of an anti slavery and human trafficking Charity and has been since before the shit hit the fan with her father.
How she squares that in her head, god alone knows. With her dad's bestie Ghislaine banged up for procuring and trafficking young girls 😮

Novella4 · 28/08/2022 10:25

@Maireas no it does not follow at all they they must believe Andrew innocent

My feeling is that what we know of the unsavoury shower already is the tip of the iceberg. Once Mummy's gone the gloves will be off.

That's an astonishing level of disconnect, and I'm putting that kindly. I wonder how the charity view this?

I agree with you. I didn't want to blame people by association, or judge someone on who their dad is, but this is terrible judgement, at the very least.

No, you're right. I wonder how they can square it, then?

The Queen a slacker? 😀

Yep.

Security was offered for her and she deliver it because thanks to a certain dodgy fucker of a ‘journalist’ she was extremely paranoid about having RF sanctioned protection.

She was tricked and exploited so much that it fed into her paranoia and lead to her isolation and lack of protection. I heard William speak about this, with understandable anger. It's shocking.

Novella4 · 28/08/2022 11:53

@Maireas
They are 'royal' they do what they like - why do they have to square anything ?

Does William have to square owning multiple huge homes and multiple private jet flights etc etc? No he does as he pleases and if the PR bods think there may be rumblings from the plebs - head up a charity , the dimwit plebs will clap , job done .

Does Charles have to square stating Duchy land is public when it suits him and private when it suits him?

Do any of them have to square signing off on laws which only apply to us , not them ??

Don't get me started lol.

Maireas · 28/08/2022 11:59

I meant specifically, how does someone who is the patron of an anti slavery society act to support someone who has exploited trafficked women. I find it strange, but that's only my opinion

Is this the same William who blamed his parents' divorce on the BBC interview with Diana and not in his fathers long affair with Camilla ?

I think it's the same William.

Novella4 · 28/08/2022 12:06

@Maireas
There are many other examples of 'strange' issues re the royals .

The thing I find strange is that anyone can admire and support these blaggers . It's all right there in front of our eyes but some choose not to see .

Roussette · 28/08/2022 12:06

@Novella4

Oh yes. Read it twice. I wish more would, but they are resistant to the truth

Novella4 · 28/08/2022 12:08

@jewishmum - you are right ! This thread title needs to be re named

'Opinions about the royal family '

SpinCityBlues · 28/08/2022 12:36

I thought my not liking Saint Eugenie would be unpopular!

antelopevalley · 28/08/2022 13:09

Maireas · 28/08/2022 12:02

I think it's the same William.

William has obviously made the choice to support the status quo that he benefits from.
I think though when Charles becomes King William will snipe at him though "sources". I think there are real tensions in that relationship.

The same way a Chair of a wildlife conservation charity shoots a tiger.
