As the other thread has filled up I wondered if anyone would like to discuss the book here. I’m listening to it on Audible now.

Yes, and years later! And didn't happen! It's all the nonsense regurgitated on here endlessly!

It's quite disturbing watching them go after a charity that supports sick children. All because of unsubstantiated rumours, I'm glad H&M fans are countering with donations and messages of support.

I didn't pounce. I answered your post. As you quoted one of mine. I thought that's what forums were for!

Can't help it if you didn't like what I said!

I didn’t say you !! Don’t wear the cap etc …
None of us on here know whether or not MM bullied Charlotte but clearly many people think she did .

Great, you do t mean me even though I disagree with you!

None of us on here know whether or not MM bullied Charlotte ...

For that matter none of us know whether Kate sent flowers and a apology either, but many seem to believe this too

Odd, that Confused

That was confirmed. If it hadn't happened, Kensington Palace would have planted/leaked a denial.

I'm actually quite frightened of Readinginthesun and the other username that originally made the punching post.

Oh, give over! You're the one who used the word "punch". You're frightened of a poster who doesn't know who you are, where you live or one detail about you, who never threatened you and never used the word punch? I seriously don't think you're cut out for social media.

I thought the issue was that the dress didn’t fit Charlotte properly? Kate was upset about that and Meghan was dismissive and rude? Who knows. It seems the flowers were a peace offering not an apology. M however decided to present the incident as an example of being wronged. The incident is discussed in the book amongst other places.

Only the two of them know what happened and one of them can’t defend herself.

KatharineofAragon · 17/08/2022 00:00

I would really like the two of them to take a stand against flying constantly to give awards and make speeches etc. The fact that they choose private jets, even for short trips, is even worse.
If Harry is going to bang on and on about the environment whilst doing nothing personally to support his views, he just looks like a hypocrite of the first order.
Supporting charities in the US would be a much better option simply to reduce their carbon footprint. They could make speeches etc on zoom for the UK charities.

ArcaneLana · 17/08/2022 00:17

Who leaked the Meghan made Kate cry story ? I remember the vitriol towards Meghan when she was pregnant with Archie, it was relentless. The dog whistle and outright pile on in the media and on numbered hate MM threads on here was awful.

MarshaMelrose · 17/08/2022 00:20

Meghan was pregnant when she made Kate cry? Was this a different occasion? I'm confused.

ArcaneLana · 17/08/2022 00:28

Meghan was pregnant when it was leaked that she made Kate cry.

MarshaMelrose · 17/08/2022 00:36

Oh, I see. So same story. How can two grown, supposedly intelligent women, make such a big thing out of this? I hope queenie knocked their heads together.

StolenWillowTree · 08/08/2022 19:14

What is the Rwanda stuff?

Bower made up some bizarre story that Meghan turned up with suitcases full of super glam clothes (yet weirdly not a single photo of her wearing anything but plain shirts and wrinkly casual cotton dresses exist), insisted on a "glam squad" to do full hair and makeup for her (who apparently are both invisible and terrible at their jobs, since everyone else involved on the trip ever saw them and she's visibly not wearing makeup and 'done' hair in any of the photos), and that she and the photographer snuck off to do a professional glamourous photoshoot using Rwanda as a backdrop (no photos have ever materialised).

Just all lies.

I'd imagine if it is lies she'll sue. Doesn't Bower say he can verify everything in the book.

Readinginthesun · 17/08/2022 05:19

@StolenWillowTree

I am honestly shocked at how low Meghan-bashers will go to destroy her. Inventing lies about child abuse is beyond the pale. I'm actually quite frightened of Readinginthesun and the other username that originally made the punching post. That's quite disturbing behaviour, to be so consumed with hatred towards someone you've never met that you invent lies about bullying toddlers and child abuse.

Stop right there . I have NEVER said, suggested or hinted that MM punched Charlotte. I have never even heard that part of the rumour until now and I don’t believe it for a minute . Stop inventing stuff . Stop accusing someone ( me) you have never met and know nothing about of saying such awful stuff . You are frightened if me ??? WTF are you on about ??

Readinginthesun · 17/08/2022 05:23

@StolenWillowTree

i have reported your accusation.

Spit it out then... you don't want them ever to come to the UK again. For goodness sake, it's at most twice a year and you, like another PP, are saying that for a charity where he has supported, been patron, and turned up in person for their annual ceremony for over 12 years, you now don't want him to. I find that baffling, quite awful and sums up the bizarre and unpleasant parameters that dislikers are now setting for him.

You know as well as I do, that if he shunned this charity, he would be slated. Go on... admit it. Just say WellChild tweeted a zoom call from him, instead of him attending the Ceremony, you'd be first in the queue saying he couldn't be bothered to attend the Awards Ceremony and he's dumping them now he's moved to US and how awful. Because this couple can not do a thing right in your eyes and others. So he also can't go to the Invictus 'OneYearToGo' event in Germany? Because, according to you, he now can't take air travel to Europe. It's actually nothing to do with anyone, he can do what he wants. Just let him go!

You want him to make a stand? Be honest, air travel is the only stick you have to beat him with about a September charity visit. There is no other, so you grab on to it with two hands. If you want to talk air travel, if I were you, I'd concentrate on Charles and William. William uses a helictoper like others use a bus, and Charles is one of the worst for private jets, I could link endless facts and figures on that. But no.... Harry is the one who has to make a stand to the people of Britain! Let William and Charles carry on, it's all Harry's fault Hmm

Roussette · 17/08/2022 06:53

No. There was quite a bit disputed when the book came out. It was discussed on here.

@ArcaneLana

Yes, peoples memories are short. A thread would fill in a day. They were numbered and went on and on, it was absolutely vile. At one point, MN had to ban all talk of the couple for a while because they didn't have the Moderators available for the deletions and monitoring.

MissMarpleRocks · 17/08/2022 07:21

Allegedly
Kate made Meghan cry.
Meghan made Kate cry.
Kate gave flowers to Meghan as a peace offering/apology.

Maybe they were both so stressed one just had given birth & the other was getting married. Both extremely stressful situations.

I suspect the truth is somewhere in the middle - it generally is from my experience.

It’s ludicrous that to some posters Kate & Meghan can do no wrong & to others nothing right. No human being is perfect, we are flawed & everyone makes mistakes including these 2 women.

That's the most sensible post on here! Totally agree. I imagine there were frayed nerves on both sides. Someone said something, someone was a bit miffed, no idea who, and it was the usual just-before-a-wedding' stuff and was nothing. No idea why the PP even brought it up, it was years ago and is history.

Course they did, they were tiny! Any Mum and Dad would be doing the same.

One of the things that is curious about this, with hindsight, is how 10 small children walked up the aisle with Meghan (and then disappeared off to the left while the boring service stuff went on 😀) but at the end of the service when the couple came out of the chapel where they had signed the register for their procession down the aisle, they only had 8 attendants. George and Charlotte were no longer with them in the procession (and so, weren’t in the chapel where the register was signed either, as that’s where they all came from).

In contrast just a couple of months later when Jack and Eugenie were married at the same chapel, George and Charlotte walked up the aisle with the bride, and then later walked out of the chapel right behind them following the signing of the register, and then were behind the couple as they walked down the aisle.

It’s a small thing, that obviously drew no attention at all at the time. Looking back however, and knowing the allegations (to be clear, not the ones recently made on this thread that I’ve honestly never heard before! And the counter-allegations, lets be fair..) that have been made, it’s certainly interesting.

Interesting to you, maybe.
Very boring to me. Grin

I don't study bridesmaids and pages movements at Royal weddings and I imagine it drew no attention because it meant nothing!
When it's little ones, and lots of them, anything can happen, every wedding is different. I do remember my lovely niece's wedding and her little pageboy who has complicated medical issues, walked up the aisle behind her and shouted really loud "I WILL behave, I promise!! to the whole church, it was hilarious!

Serenster · 17/08/2022 07:54

The ones who did follow Meghan and Harry down the aisle had a small tussle between themselves as the walked down, it was very funny!
