It's out next week, titled 'Revenge'. I've ordered it already!

Pray tell, when have H&M sued over a biography?

I didn't say either of them had sued over a biography ...?

Whether Meghan will so it this time is anyone's guess, but with people who appear to relish any kind of publicity - though preferably that which they've controlled - I'm really not convinced that any reluctance to sue would be because of the fuss it would create

Oh, I get you now. She didn't relish any kind of publicity when it came to suing Tina Brown. She didn't relish any kind of publicity when it came to suing Robert Lacey [with quotes claiming she was a damaged psycho/socio - path]. Neither did she relish any kind of publicity when it came to suing Colin Campbell but she'll somehow want publicity for this book in particular.

Sound logic.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 23/07/2022 16:05

That's not what I said, is it, Meanderings?

But then I suspect you knew that ...

Serenster · 23/07/2022 16:22

Roussette · 23/07/2022 15:03

Well.... she sounds like a right charmer, doesn't she? How vile to say someone's marriage is going to end in tears, before they have even married.

I've met her son, James Hussey. He was a rude obnoxious individual.

Roussette you recently posted an article in which someone said that they didn’t think William and Kate would last the distance!!

When someone pointed out that the quotes in question had been made when they first started going out, you noted you hadn’t realised that.

I've no idea what you are talking about. What do you mean? There's another article with someone saying they wouldn't last the distance? Quite likely. And not nice.

I feel like your mission in life is to go round fact checking me. It's getting a bit tedious to be frank.

Serenster · 23/07/2022 17:03

I correct most errors I see Roussette, it be fair, pretty much indiscriminately! If there are one or two posters who feel got at because I often respond to their posts, well, that’s not really on me. 🤷‍♀️

The news report I remember you posting about William and Kate was doubtless not this version (the Mirror!) but was the same story. Someone else responded to say that the quote referred to was actually describing attitudes towards them when they first started their relationship at university.

“Kate Middleton’s romance with Prince William was not expected to last”

www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/kate-middletons-romance-prince-william-27060453

(of course if it wasn’t you who posted it, I will apologise - my recollection is that you were the poster, though, hence why I was taken aback that a similar story about Meghan and Harry was “vile” when you had happily posted similar stories about a different couple)

Roussette · 23/07/2022 17:16

I honestly cannot imagine posting anything like that, even if you thought I had. I don't like speculation on marriages before they've even begun, I really don't.
Give them a chance is what I always think. Look at me and my DH haha, a very very unlikely pairing if ever there was one, and we're nearer 40 years than 30 🤣

And I've never thought W&K's marriage wouldn't last. Not for one minute.

Yes, you carry on with your correcting of errors, although this 'correction' I feel is wrong!
I bet you hate the new search engine on here! Grin

Serenster · 23/07/2022 17:24

Search function - what search function? 😂

Ohnonevermind · 23/07/2022 17:26

@Serenster

i do believe the article was in Hello or okay magazine. I do remember as it was an unusual source for you @Roussette 🤣

Roussette · 23/07/2022 17:38

I can't remember that at all. But I will prostrate myself at your feet full of apologies if I linked something that said W&K's marriage wouldn't last. Because I don't think that.

Samcro · 23/07/2022 18:07

Wow do people really remember what people have previously posted on one of these treads bollocks they do

Why is that such a shock

Well, it's not totally bollocksy bollocks. I don't post often and I tend to remember when I do.
I think I may be the "Someone else" who "responded to say that the quote referred to was actually describing attitudes towards them when they first started their relationship at university" that Serenster mentions.
I certainly can't remember when or which thread but I remember because, to me too, it was an unusual source for Roussette.
It was something that I think was headlined to imply K & W's marriage was on the rocks, but was actually based on a quote which referenced their relationship at university.
It probably won't ring a bell, Roussette, but we had a bit of a chat, iirc, and I think it was the time you said you imagined my board name in a French accent - it's the trivial things I remember Smile

Serenster · 23/07/2022 18:41

Yes, LaMarschallin, you were the “someone else”! 😀

Samcro - I’m afraid I do remember what other people have posted. I happen to have a really good memory - it’s one of the reasons I really annoy some posters by fact-checking, but it’s because I’ll read something, think “hang on a sec, I’m sure that’s not right” based on something I’ve read sometime in the past, and head off to google.

(Some posts are just memorable however - I doubt I’ll ever forget the time notanotheroneagain put up a photo of someone who looked nothing like William and was about a foot shorter than him and tried to convince us that no, this really was William in blackface 😂).

HinchcliffeandMurgatroyd · 23/07/2022 18:42

Oh so it’s always like that on this board then?

Readinginthesun · 23/07/2022 18:59

@Serenster

I could be wrong but even after PPs corrected her she wouldn’t admit it wasn’t William .
(apologies if I am mistaken )

Ohnonevermind · 23/07/2022 19:06

@Samcro

I’m afraid I do have a good memory too. Certain posts do stick out.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 23/07/2022 21:23

You're not mistaken, Readinginthesun; instead of simply admitting a mistake (which we all make at times) there was twisting an eel would have been proud of in an attempt to prove they were right after all

I was around that time that I stopped engaging altogether - an approach I can recommend since there really seems no point

Ohnonevermind · 23/07/2022 21:27

@Puzzledandpissedoff

An approach I recommend too.

Roussette · 24/07/2022 00:23

Nishky32 · 23/07/2022 18:08

Why is that such a shock

Because you accuse people of saying something they haven't.

More than once.

I have a good memory too.

HeddaGarbled · 24/07/2022 01:28

Just started chapter 12:

In Spring 2016, Markus Anderson, proprietor of Soho House, Toronto, introduces Meghan to Princess Eugenie. Eugenie “like her parents, appreciated freebies and hobnobbing with the rich and famous”.

Don’t mince your words, Tom.

Not good enough to remember making the post being discussed 😂

Who in their right mind thinks that meghan had surrogates or rebirth dolls. Why can't she and Harry count their blessings. They have good health and a lovely family. Why do they fight the whole world? If I were them I would sink into obscurity and enjoy life.

I think she is someone who thrives on drama. She has to be centre of attention all the time and have her ego stoked constantly. A quiet life is the very last thing she wants. I actually think all Harry really wants is his own family and the love and security he missed out on as a child .
I do wonder what they genuinely have in common. Completely different backgrounds and mentalities. He genuinely wants to do good in the world. She wants to be seen as a ‘philanthropist’, but perhaps for more self centred reasons.
If all the drama and and grievances are removed , what do they actually talk about?

lot123 · 24/07/2022 07:10

She has to be centre of attention all the time and have her ego stoked constantly. A quiet life is the very last thing she wants.

I genuinely believe this is the main reason for wanting security. They like the importance of being ushered everywhere in big black cars and with bodyguards. It makes them feel special. Also sibling jealousy as K&W have the whole shebang.

If they were that concerned for their safety, they wouldn't have rolled down the car windows at the Jubilee.

Roussette · 24/07/2022 07:27

Nishky32 · 24/07/2022 03:32

Haha very funny.
My memory is excellent thanks, as you well know, as you're the one muddling up posters and then having to apologise.

Roussette · 24/07/2022 07:30

If all the drama and and grievances are removed , what do they actually talk about?

What any Mum and Dad with two little children talks about. The kids, their nursery and schooling, holidays, plans for the future... then of course they have their philanthropy so that would feature a lot.
