Can you not see how strange it is to be so invested in parents you don't know choosing which pictures of their own children to make public?

Not picking on you personally @SweetMystery because I think posters get brainwashed into using it. But your post was the last one I saw. The camel's straw so to speak. It's on so many threads. Discussing something doesn't mean you're INVESTED. Neither does asking more than one question. I think posters have seen it so many times they're brainwashed.

Discussing something DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE INVESTED! I doubt people really do care that much about topics to do with Meghan or her kids just because they want to discuss it.

Why can't posters just comment, or answer a question, without accusing the poster they are responding to of being INVESTED?

Huh? In my messages to you I said 'they', 'parents' and 'Meghan and Harry', I didn't specify Meghan individually so I'm not sure why you're making out I did.

I would suggest maybe not being so annoyed about other people's choices when it comes to what photos they share of their own children.

Kate and William share pictures of each of their children on their birthday every year. Meghan and Harry have done the same. Yet somehow they've done it wrong.

It's so weird how people find fault with everything they do even when they do the same as other members of their family.

Me, also sick of being accused of being 'invested' as well as 'annoyed' and a 'Meghan hater' (by another poster) replied sarcastically:

There is a real difference between K&W and M&H and the way they share pics of their kids. Meghan and Harry have decided they want to pick and mix which bits of the Royal lifestyle they want, to suit themselves and their own ambitions. This has annoyed many people. This, and then the Oprah fiasco has undoubtedly contributed to the criticism of the way they operate. Not hate, let's be adults, we are all too old to be "haterz". But they select their involvement to benefit themselves.

Kate takes pictures herself and the pictures that they share are clear and full face. The ones Meghan and Harry share are few and far between, and fair enough, they have the right to do that. Many celebrities pixelate pics of their kids. Harry & Meghan put out very different types of pictures of their kids to Kate.

And when discussing these things, it is fine to disagree with another poster. "I would suggest maybe not being so annoyed about other people's choices" Telling others how to think, though, not so much. I am not trying to be the forum police, But I feel like a playground supervisor reading some comments.

As it's unhealthy that are some people who are annoyed and invested in parents choices about their own kids.

Surely at some point the comparisons with 'Will and Kate' have got to stop? Are Anne and Tim compared with Charles and Camilla these days - were they ever? Sophie and Edward pitted against Charles and Camilla? Do we compare releases of photos of their respective children?

Well to be fair their kids have kids of their own so no. Sophie's kids are growing up. Would this sort of comparison have happened if Harry and Meghan hadn't legged it though? Is that the instigating factor?

But how does it make sense to gripe about M&H releasing a birthday photo, when W&K do it three times a year, and people don’t bitch and moan about it?

I don’t care for H&M - I find them annoying and hard to like.

But I can also see the ridiculous double-standards they’re subjected to, and comment on them.

If they had released a photos of Archie on his birthday just over a month ago, then that would be a perfectly valid point but they didn’t.

Harry and Meghan have been keen to protect their children from the press and that is absolutely their prerogative. However they have just had a weekend when they diminished royal status was apparent and the reception from the uk public was mixed - and did include boos at the Thursday event. So now they produce clear photos of Lilibet on her birthday. They seem very keen to promote Lilibet eg Harry wearing a “girl dad” tee shirt recently.

what about Archie? Why don’t they celebrate him in the same way?

Perhaps Archie doesn't like his photo taken. My friend's little boy went through a phase of running away from the camera for about a year or sometimes getting upset if they tried to take a photo.
There could be any other perfectly legitimate reason why they didn't publish his photo. Doesn't mean they don't celebrate him. Overall we've seen more of Archie than we have of Lilibet.

Yup. Especially with lots of photos of Williams children in the Press. I also think the hairdresser putting out an Instagram post about how wonderful the Sussex children are is not a coincidence. Now the photographer, who happens to be a family friend.

They do look like beautiful children though. I’m sure Charlie and William find it painful that they have no relationship with them, and it must rub salt in the wound.

There are photos of clear photos of Archie when he was a baby and no photo of Lilli had been released until this one so it makes sense that they released a photo of her. I doubt they will be releasing any other photo of her anytime soon. Nothing wrong with that at all. Harry wore a girl dad T shirt and Meghan often wears a necklace with the letter A. I think the baby looks cute and it’s nice they waited until after the Jubilee to release it.

I can see Thomas now you say it, but I can't see much of Meghan, more of the Spencer side.

I think both sides can see a more cordial relationship in the future but it’s going to take some work to get there. The biggest stumbling block will be Harry’s new book.

Hopefully Harry and William processes Harry’s private status in the family and what it means and they can forge a new relationship out of the public eye.

I noticed some US based sniping comments about how Williams kids didn’t come to lili’s party (my Facebook feed). William’s kids were scheduled to attend events and couldn’t attend. It seems disappointing to drag them into it as if they were snubbing their cousins, likewise to make comments about Lilí and Archie is equally disappointing. They all seem like beautiful loved children.

Yes, setting up other adults to fail in order to create drama is one thing. Dragging kids into it is dreadful behaviour.

I also wondered at the timing of the photo. But I just read they were not allowed to release a photo during the jubilee. So they did or immediately after. That makes sense.
