Due to them booing the so called 'royal' William & the national anthem yesterday at the F.A. cup final. It made my day :)

I’m a republican but I think they were rude twats.

The national anthem has been booed by the fans at every final since the Hillsborough cover up.

Searchfornessie · 15/05/2022 21:07

William & Harry failed to obtain first class degrees despite all of their privllege. That silly thicko Diana couldn't even pass one O level

What’s your point? I don’t recall any of the royal family ever claiming to be particularly academic. And you do realise Diana didn’t grow up in the royal family, right?

Also true that the local Labour party have fucked the city over, but back to the point of the thread: the RF have fucked over the entire country for decades so if it takes a bit of "rudeness" at a footy match to get the message across that the Windsors need to go, then let's have more of it and the pearl-clutching monarchists can ping their necklaces.

Man City formally and swiftly apologised for that though @hels1987 , saying that they were extremely disappointed with the actions of some of their supporters and sincerely apologising to all those connected with Liverpool Football Club. At least they make the effort to let their fans know what is and isn’t appropriate.

Where was the Daily Mail front page?

It was her majesty's police force that blamed the fans and her majesty's government that helped them cover it up.

Hundreds or even thousands who were at Hillsborough would have been at the game on Saturday. That's why its booed. They were accused of murdering their own fans while living with PTSD and survivors guilt.

So you are happy to have any thicko ruling over you, having the prestigious position as a highly overpaid head of state regardless of whether or not they can string two words together because they have merely inherited such a position as opposed to earning it? In terms of your question to me regarding the fact that Diana didn't grow up as a royal - yes I am well aware of that. However, I do not understand the relevance of your question. Are you aware that she is the biological mother of a possible future monarch thereby passing on her brain cells ( or rather the lack of them) to these people that you little robotic bowing & scraping monarchists seem to worship so much. God give me strength, stop the world I want to get off - there must surely be some intelligent life force beyond this tiny planet. I bet the lifeforms on other planets don't practise this unquestioning mindless worship, I bet they are laughing at us.

Of course it did - he was attending as President of the FA. Anyone who had turned up in that role would have been loudly booed.

Because we're a nation of forelock tuggers which stems from royalty.

Nanalisa60 · 15/05/2022 21:39

I don’t , really disappointed at there behaviour, instead of talking about what a great match it was, all we are now talking about is how rude and disrespectful the fans were. Nearly made me want Chelsea to win !! I

Chelsea whose fans were chanting support for Roman Abramavich through the game.

It pisses me off that there was no outrage when Man City fans disrupted the minutes silence for Hillsborough during the semi final at Wembley but the British establishment is beyond reproach. And tbh as a national anthem it's a bit of an embarrassment and yes it's rude to boo, but fans don't boo it for the hell of it. It's happened at every FA Cup final since Liverpool fans were unlawfully killed at Hillsborough in an FA Cup semi final and then blamed for it to protect the police and the FA.

Ultimately Liverpool had over 30,000 fans at Wembley and maybe a few thousand at the most were booing, so 90%+ didn't. A few hundred or a few thousand is going to be audible though.

What outcome do they want?

It's classless and embarrassing and whatever point they're trying to make just hers gets lost as they come across as mindless football idiots. Even if they have a valid reason.

Thank god we’ve got some Middleton genes thrown into the mix, with Kate’s AAB.

Lols at OP for thinking they actually “rule” 😂

StaunchMomma · 15/05/2022 23:20

I'm amazed nobody's mentioned Heysel.

Liverpool fans have been at the centre of numerous controversies over the years, some to their detriment, some no fault of their own.

I think you'd have to be utterly heartless to not feel empathy for Hillsborough and anger at the gutter press's smearing in the aftermath BUT I do think it's petty to decide you love a football team because their fans booed something.

They embarrassed themselves and Liverpool. It's saying something when they made Chelsea fans look like the model of decorum. Hmm
