Due to them booing the so called 'royal' William & the national anthem yesterday at the F.A. cup final. It made my day :)

I love Liverpudlians but I am embarrassed for their behaviour - booing your own national anthem, classless.

Classless? Maybe you mean class of their own. Honest and forthright, willing to see past the lies and take a hard look at its uncomfortable past. People from a city with an International Slavery Museum are hardly going to stand on the terraces playing rent-a-serf every time they play that vile colonialist dirge.

Olderwoman57 · 15/05/2022 18:37

@Tania64 can you explain why they booed the B positive choir?

mydogisthebest · 15/05/2022 18:10

Total idiots and made me glad I am not from Liverpool

Funny thing is a lot of Liverpool fans are from down south. I'm from Liverpool but don't watch football.

No I can't, can you? However, if you like I could explain how the 'royals' ancestors directly stole from poverty striken people to line their own pockets & how they now achieve that legally by getting the Government & tax office to do it for them.

OP posts:
Olderwoman57 · 15/05/2022 18:47

According to the daughter of one of them members the choir were told in advance that this would happen and it was not personal to them or to Prince William. Sorry to disappoint

I don’t need you to explain anything to me thanks. I know the history of my own country

I'm not at all diappointed. I don't have a particular dislike of William. He is merely a representative, the fans were clearly objecting to the monarchy & their hangers on amongst other elitists & the establishment. The tide is very slowly but surely turning within our great land. This is what I am celebrating.

They also booed the B positive choir (all of whom suffer from sickle cell) singing Abide with me so no … I struggle to see why they are a source of pride

Was it not that newfangled "boo" where boo is good?
Or is that gone now?

I think you are a bit naive if you think that I’m afraid-

And backtracking from your opening post?

mackthepony · 15/05/2022 19:00

Yes, god forbid a society express its satisfaction.

Let's face it, we're too polite to riot like the French, instead we'll just boo at a football match.

Don't want to ruffle any feathers, especially ostrich ones, now do we?

Bravo to the Liverpudlians!

Lots of Liverpool fans are not from Liverpool though.

sleepnightmare · 15/05/2022 19:06

It has nothing to do with being republican op 🙄

elenacampana · 15/05/2022 19:19

I’m from Liverpool, the born and bred type and I still live here. With respect OP, I’d rather you didn’t speak for us purely on the basis that your daughter lived here for a couple of years.

I’m not proud of these fans, I’m embarrassed by them and I doubt they even know what they’re booing for. I’m from the blue side of the city so I hope this differentiates me from them!

Chilledchablis1 · 15/05/2022 19:21

@notanotheroneagain how much time do you spend looking for and posting photos and screenshots?!

Chilledchablis1 · 15/05/2022 19:22

Oh and it’s up to you what you spend your time doing but does it not get tedious ?

notanotheroneagain · 15/05/2022 19:27

I'm sure it gets tedious for you to be proven wrong or when someone comes up with receipts for things that took place. You should try it sometime, so you can stop making up shit.

Olderwoman57 · 15/05/2022 18:58

And backtracking from your opening post?

How am I backtracking? My post does not mention a hatred of William. I dislike them all equally. They lack intelligence & integrity. William & Harry failed to obtain first class degrees despite all of their privllege. That silly thicko Diana couldn't even pass one O level. It's insulting to the average UK resident to see how these useless individuals get to live a life of luxury for doing nothing whilst the people that pay for it can't pay their bills.Anyone who thinks that this is okay must also lack intelligence & integrity.

And @Chilledchablis1 stop following me around from thread to thread, I believe you are breaking MN rules anyway.

SilverCatStripes · 15/05/2022 19:33

I spent many years living and working in Liverpool and I have a real soft spot for the city and Liverpudlians - but this was embarrassing and classless.

reminds of the many occasions when visiting bands would play “you’ll never walk again” , having taken the time and trouble to learn the song and Everton supporters would get up and walk out - utterly pointless and graceless.

Chilledchablis1 · 15/05/2022 19:36

I could say the same to you !

QueenOfHiraeth · 15/05/2022 19:42

I'm a scouser born and bred but found it embarrassing. There is a definite hatred here for the establishment after Thatcher tried to finish the city off and after Hillsborough so you do see banners at the football saying "We are not British, we are Scouse". I have to say I don't agree despite having a healthy dislike of the powers that be and I hate the rudeness of booing people.

Abra1d1 · 15/05/2022 19:42

William seemed to be popular enough on MN on Friday when he took Deborah James's damehood decoration to her in her family home. But then she's a class act, even in her last, most painful days. ( know plenty of Liverpudlians who are equally classy and would be ashamed of a show like that one on Saturday.)
