Last thread closed so I thought I'd amalagamate the latest antics for further discussion.

Also wanted to reply to this post near the end:

Perhaps the opportunity to contribute via cleaning jobs will soon arise for them, perhaps even faster than Andrew imagines, if he is up to knowing how to turn on a vacuum that is

He allegedly sent for a maid to climb four sets of stairs to close his curtains. I think he'd struggle with a vacuum Grin

Off to read up on the entirely unsurprising reports on links to the fraudster.

I think we need a drastic change to how the Royal Family is structured and operates

I think we need to get rid of them altogether.

I just don't see the point of them. Their vast wealth and privilege is an anachronism in the modern age. Time to put them all to work and turn their palaces over for public use as museums/National Trust properties/public spaces.

Roussette · 03/04/2022 11:52

lulu That'll do for starters!

I just want more transparency. Much more.

That article... this bit...

'the amount the nation pays for guarding the royal family is never disclosed'

WHY?

We pay for it. Why can't we know?

It is estimated to be in excess of £100million a year. The reason why the RF won't disclose it is because there would be total outrage about it.

If things don't change on the death of the Queen I can imagine there are going to be a lot of things said which will make it near impossible for Charles.
Drastic change needed, some of which Lulu has set out succinctly.

@Blossomtoes

Their parents behaviour must have an effect on them surely...

Of course, that’s exactly what I said. I really feel for them. Criticising them for their odious parents’ appalling behaviour feels a bit like victim blaming to me.

victims?? of what. these adult women(they are not girls) who live a privileged life and you call them victims.
Blossomtoes · 03/04/2022 11:56

I didn’t call them victims. You really need to brush up your reading skills. 🙄

@CathyorClaire

This is an interesting article on Andrew's finances alongside the tax payer funded lavish travelling the chancing grifter used to treat himself to:

www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/prince-andrews-massive-income-shrouded-20931513

I've read the QM left him a trust before and it looks like the king had too. Of course we'll never know because royal wills are sealed against the plebs' prying eyes.

He's supposed to be the third richest royal behind the queen and Charles. Time for a forensic look into his finances.

I have read that when HM The Queen gave birth to each if her children- each was set up with a trust fund by The Queen Mother/King George VI and Queen/D of E. Each of the Queen's children are extremely wealthy.

In addition they had wealthy god-parents and were left money by the Queen Mother.
For instance, she left Andrew her house Royal Lodge Windsor (her remaining lease on it). The lease was extended by him (now 90+years) paying an amount to the Royal/Crown Estate and he spent millions doing it up.

Charles inherited Clarence House, Birkhall at Balmoral (which would have been his anyway one day as he will inherit the whole of Balmoral on the Queen's death) , and Castle May in the far north of Scotland.

Gatcombe Park and estate was bought for Princess Anne as a wedding gift- it is worth millions.

Edward and Sophie have a 90+year lease on Bagshot Hall on the Royal/Crown estate at Windsor. Again they paid themselves to improve the house.

Andrew would probably have to be bought out of the lease of Great Lodge at Windsor by the Royal/Crown Estate which would cost millions but at least we'd be rid of him.

If the Royal Family were got rid of Edward would also have to be bought out if the lease- or could buy the house himself from the Royal.Crown Estate.

Charles would keep Clarence House, Highgrove, Balmoral, Sandringham, Castle May as they are private houses.

Anne would keep Gatcombe Park.

And now im reading the Queen is being escorted to the Derby at Epsom by PA. They have no clue. Maybe the Queen is deliberately sabotaging the monarchy so it ends with her?!!!

We're always being told Charles is in favour of a slimmed down monarchy. Of course he is.

He gets to keep all the bells and whistles presumably including trousering the current amount of the never to be reduced SG while the peasants admire his thrift.

I reckon the nation will be doing some serious navel gazing on the relevance of the royals once the queen goes.

@Blossomtoes how am I misreading? you say "a bit like victim blaming'

You do know what a bit like means? Ffs 🙄

You say victim
We read victim

How strange to then tell someone to 'brush up on their reading skills' for reading victim

Vapeyvapevape · 03/04/2022 12:37

She must have read or heard the backlash of him escorting her at the memorial service so , to me , this really is her sticking 2 fingers up at us.

Aspiringmatriarch · 03/04/2022 12:39

I can't quite believe how shameless and tone deaf Andrew and Fergie are. I always thought she was quite likeable, in a nutty sort of way, but she seems almost as bad as him. They remind me of the innkeeper and his wife in Les Mis.

Roussette · 03/04/2022 12:49

Vapey I totally agree. She's really taking the p**s out of us now.

Ascot in the carriage... surely surely not. Well.... if she wants the RF held up to outrage and ridicule, just do it.

Andrew is capitalising on a very elderly mother's frailty and sucking up to her no doubt. Meanwhile, he throws his daughters to the wolves and gets them named in a fraudsters court case by trying to bend the rules over some wodge paid into his bank a/c by pretending it's a wedding present. If those girls have any sense, they need to go NC.

They remind me of the innkeeper and his wife in Les Mis

Haha... what a great comparison but unfortunately I now cannot get the song Master of the House out my head!

YOU USED THE WORD VICTIM. you said it not me. ffs
EdithWeston · 03/04/2022 12:54

Doubt it'll be a carriage at the Derby. Last few years the Queen has arrived by limo

WinnieTheW0rm · 03/04/2022 12:57

It's a horsey event. She'd be better off arriving with Princess Anne and the Tindalls (Mike would be especially useful if she needs soneibe sturdy at hand)

Vapeyvapevape · 03/04/2022 12:58

Apparently Queenie sees Andrew every day now , so there absolutely no need to be seen in public with him. She does seem to be on a RF self destruct mission.

Roussette · 03/04/2022 12:59

Two years ago no one went covid, last year was greatly reduced numbers
PA should not be poncing about the place with royal privilege

Surely not???

Anyone else wondering what has caused the press to remove the gloves when it comes to Andrew?
