Last thread closed so I thought I'd amalagamate the latest antics for further discussion.

Also wanted to reply to this post near the end:

Perhaps the opportunity to contribute via cleaning jobs will soon arise for them, perhaps even faster than Andrew imagines, if he is up to knowing how to turn on a vacuum that is

He allegedly sent for a maid to climb four sets of stairs to close his curtains. I think he'd struggle with a vacuum Grin

Off to read up on the entirely unsurprising reports on links to the fraudster.

I’m actually developing a new respect for the Sussexes who are at least taking their cash openly from corporations rather than dodgy arms dealers. As far as we know.

Roussette · 05/04/2022 11:54

Wasn’t this all happening in the same month as the Maitlis interview?

I think it was the week before, or week after I read somewhere

It wasn’t Coutts who flagged it! It was the compliance guy at the Turkish woman’s bank who wanted to know why she was sending such a vast amount to a prominent person- he was doing his AML due diligence

Coutts queried it too.

I agree, it is money laundering plain and simple. I don't agree that B&E wouldn't know about these monies.

stillavid · 05/04/2022 11:57

Agree Roussette - hard to believe that B&E weren't aware.

Blossomtoes · 05/04/2022 12:10

@Roussette

I thought B and E didn’t receive protection? Andrew is supposed to pay for it. Zara andPeter don’t get protection either. This is why it’s ludicrous that Harry expects it when he’s moved abroad and does nothing for the RF anymore

At that point B&E did receive protection. Paid for by us. Not by Andrew.

It will have cost millions to follow Beatrice round the world, a drop in the ocean compared to what Harry is asking for when he doesn't come here anyway

The protection was stopped in 2011. The year Beatrice had 15 holidays was 2015.
stillavid · 05/04/2022 12:17

As an aside, can you imagine having 15 holidays in a year!!

I just don't see they are that rich.

Would also love to know how many flights/villas are loaned to all the royals.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 05/04/2022 12:19

I doubt they ever pay for anything.

Merrymouse · 05/04/2022 12:21

I reckon Eugenie is probably quite hard up relatively speaking for a Princess.

I suspect they are all very comfortable ‘for a Princess’ if being a Princess means paying a peppercorn rent to the Queen for a country house, keeping a few horses and holidaying with the family in Scotland.

They aren’t well off compared to billionaires with private planes and yachts, but I think those are the circles in which they expect to move.

Really? Have you forgotten about the millionaires mansion in Canada owned by a Russian oligarch? Or the place they moved to afterwards which was loaned by a rich friend? Or the private jet owned by Elton John? Or the holiday in Italy with the Clooneys?
Roussette · 05/04/2022 12:44

There are articles that say PPOs have accompanied the York girls to Verbier, Aspen and Monte Carlo in the past. I wrongly assumed it was the year of the 15 holidays

Well done Blossom for setting the record straight! Grin

Blossomtoes · 05/04/2022 12:46

No problem @Roussette. I’ve always liked facts!

Roussette · 05/04/2022 12:52

I disagree. It’s all shades of the same thing.

Monetisation of royal prestige.

Signing a media production deal at a way overinflated rate, with no track record of production, then producing almost nothing for two years would never normally happen. It’s happened because of the royal connection.

Ditto Peter Philip’s milk deal.

The Yorks are just a shade dodgier because they have to do sell their prestige “under the counter”.

Prince Charles sells his prestige for charity and seems to think makes it okay.

They are all rotten. They are all selling a non-product. Because they’ve all been raised (or wed) to expect things to fall into their laps.

The DM (sorry) had a piece yesterday about exactly how Ghislaine leveraged her second hand royal prestige. It all needs to stop.

She’s not paying a rent though, is she? Peppercorn or otherwise. Not to the crown estates anyway. She’s a sub tenant or a squatter with no tenancy.

So I can see that she’s in a tenuous housing situation, comparatively speaking. If the Queen or wider family want to help her break away from the tawdry York business, they should help her find permanent housing.

Blossomtoes · 05/04/2022 13:27

Prince Charles sells his prestige for charity and seems to think makes it okay

Well, it kind of does. It’s the charity that’s benefiting, not him.

It doesn’t.

You can’t have your aides promising people passports and honours in return for their donations. That’s called corruption.

ParkheadParadise · 05/04/2022 13:39

Interesting thread
Personally, I believe every single member of that family are freeloaders.
Come June and all the public out waving flags and cheering them.
FUCK THAT SHIT.
The monarchy should die with auld Lizzie.

Speaking of Prince Charles and his charities ^^

Literally everywhere you look.

Merrymouse · 05/04/2022 14:01

‘Comparatively’ doing alot of work there! I agree that the Queen should be able to find a secure tenancy for her in her vast property portfolio, but suspect that post renovation Frogmore Cottage is very comfortable…

Of course, it’s luxury, but it’s not theirs.

The Windsors need to be doing some of the heavy lifting in getting Eugenie and Beatrice independent of their parents.

They’re never going to apply to the council list to get their housing security.

stillavid · 05/04/2022 14:16

Prince Andrew et al need to do what the rest of us do, live within our means!

Roussette · 05/04/2022 14:25

PA has never lived within any means, he would have difficulty understanding that concept.

He has taken backhanders for nearly 30 years now... in the Middle East, on house sales, Pitch@Palace, as a Trade envoy, on foreign travel etc. He's mixed with the wealthiest but the worst of society, he's been bedazzled by huge wealth, and he has no moral compass. He feels he is entitled to all this, as does his ex. His daughters - no idea.

He is a grifter.

Or the hugely inflated salaries for made up jobs.

Each and every one of them depend on, and expect handouts for nothing other than their Royal titles.

themessygarden · 05/04/2022 14:59

and if reports are true about who loaned them these properties, they didn't even know the owners, it was all done via 'friends of friends', they accepted handouts from strangers.

Vapeyvapevape · 05/04/2022 15:14

Didn't all the grandchildren get left a trust fund by the queen mother ? I don't know if they have to reach a certain age to get their hands on it.

AnastasiaRomanov · 05/04/2022 15:41

All the grandchildren will be left a lot of money by the Queen and probably already have an inheritance from PP. They are all very rich but it’s never enough. They’re all greedy and have no concept of living within their means.
Andrew will no doubt be left a large amount too.
