Prince Harry not attending Philips memorial

It has been confirmed that Prince Harry will not be attending P Philips memorial service. What are people’s thoughts about this? Is the whole security issue a smoke screen for the fact he can’t face his family?

Is it reasonable to assume H&M might pop over to the UK (privately & undetected) to see the Queen on their way home?

He might not get many more chances to see his Grandmother, I'm sure she's very important to him (considering he named his daughter after her)

Apparently the U.K. is far too dangerous for them . In the unlikely event that a visit is made I am 99.9% certain that M won’t accompany H. I don’t think even she has the brass neck to face the family she publicly accused of racism and lack of support .

I think it is very likely that there will be a visit - who knows he might even be here now!

There are 3 small airports in the close vicinity that can be got into and out of quite privately via private jet. Short drive to Windsor - 2 of them he could pop into Uncle Edwards for a cup of tea. Maybe a stiff drink if he’s feeling jittery after being on British soil for 20 mins.

His private security would have to be very careful of the terrorist Waitrose shoppers coming out - say he got caught up in the barriers coming down for the train at Sunningdale Shock God forbid they wave their Duchy organic sourdough baguettes at him! If security do their due diligence though, they will know a slight detour that will bring them onto Crown Estate property quicker.

It was made clear that was not the queen btw.

Question is, why do you want them to come over here so much, thought you disliked them anyway.

Where did I say she had to shut up ?? M ( and H ) made a lot of accusations in the OW interview many of which have been proven to be so unlikely that most people think they were lies .
They said a member of the RF had made a racist remark . Why not name and shame ?
I couldn’t care less if they ever set foot in the U.K. again . I am not a “ hater” but I do think their behaviour towards both their families has been shocking. Having said that I am sure that HM and PC would love to see H ( without a Netflix crew).

I do hope you aren’t meaning me here ? As I said I don’t care if they come to the U.K. or not but I think HM would like to see H and I have huge respect for our Queen who is clearly very frail and would ( I think) like a visit from her grandson.

To be honest the 40x40 thing really annoyed me, I'm involved in a lot of professional and student mentoring programmes and it's a real commitment. 40 minutes is not even long enough for the "what do you hope to get out of mentoring?" conversation. It was such a gimmick because she was turning 40. She should just be honest and say it's a 40 minute Zoom meet-and-greet with a celebrity.
This was on a previous N&H thread.

Isn't this response taking it a bit too literally. 40 x40 was a way to market it which obviously worked as MN who are not keen on M & H are even talking about it. Even to find out what the person needs and what you can offer them takes longer than that -

Or imagine if she had claimed that they were married before the official wedding and didn’t want the big wedding anyway? Or didn’t invite anyone from her own family to the wedding apart from her mother?
Or moaned about no one being sufficiently interested in her well-being on a tour to visit impoverished people?
She would have been ripped to shreds.

I imagine the media would have reported it from a different angle hence the potential haters if she were white would have reacted very differently. She would have been seen as one of them

Now imagine can you picture if she was not mixed race but fully black (I know it's only 2022 and very unlikely and hard to imagine anyone in the RF would marry a black person but just try) then imagine the additional abuse she would have received

Do you think you would have seen monkey pictures on SM had he married Chelsea or any of the others? Nazi death threats? .

Do you think Chelsea would have worked with Grenfell to produce the cookbook for example?

If Chelsey Davy had married H and behaved like M once "in role" she would have been absolutely castigated by the press, and here on MN. I have no doubt about it.
In some ways it might have been worse -
M was allowed some leeway at first but declined any settling in time and wanted to "hit the ground running". Chelsey would have been expected to know the ropes, and would have been more criticise when she got things wrong.
Isn't that one of of the reasons she dipped out? Ie press intrusion.

I grant you there wouldn't have been any monkeys though.

I don’t agree. Kate would never ever do the things M has done. If she had, she would also have been ripped to shreds.

I don't know if my view counts since I don't feel that anyone can do no wrong, but I've always found it perfectly possible to loathe racism while still commenting on individual behaviour regardless of what colour the person happens to be

Nobody with sense doubts the provable racism Maghan's faced from some quarters and it's ghastly; however that doesn't mean all unwelcome comments are based on this, no matter how much some like to believe they are

Your point is negligible simply because Chelsea would have been treated differently by the palace, so she would not have to go to Oprah or anyone. She would have been supported, just like the queen told the press to leave Sophie alone, even though she had actively done something wrong.

She would not have experienced racism for a start.

Chelsea's father exploited South Africans, worked with the corrupt Mugabe regime and made sure they never saw a penny of tax. Chelsea gained on those backs of those poor Africans so that she was sent to expensive schools in the UK. All of this was happening while H was dating Chelsea. The press never said a word. In the meantime, he dates MM and they are telling us about gang scarred and Doria's dreadlocks and wrong side of the tracks. Plus a porn star lie for good measure.

Just the other day, the queen colluded with her assistant to write a book about palace life, she was praised, unlike the person of colour who wrote about another person of colour.

So, no. Chelsea would have lived a pretty little white princess life.
