Prince Harry not attending Philips memorial

It has been confirmed that Prince Harry will not be attending P Philips memorial service. What are people’s thoughts about this? Is the whole security issue a smoke screen for the fact he can’t face his family?

Even on my original comment, I was referring to the reporters and press commentators.

It was glaring when someone put out a collage of the women who constantly criticise MM.

Most of the time we don't know what public work Sophie Wessex does either. Because the press just don't report on her work - which is a shame as it includes FGM, domestic abuse, online child exploitation and rape as a tool of war.

You mentioned the professionals involved saying what they doing on SM, so I picked out Melissa McCarthy, tried to find anything and failed - unless it's all on Twatter which I don't use?

As said, I fully agree some of it's worthwhile - hence the mention of Invictus - but it's the sheer number of "causes" they claim to be involved with that I wonder about.
Like Travalyst, which received a huge wad of cash from the Sussex Foundation but somehow managed to make just £11,500 "profit" in it's first year ... is that supposed to be a success too?

I know, I know - Covid and all that - but as with Travalyst it would be interesting to learn where all this money really is going. Perhaps Harry is more his father's son than we thought, given the number of Charles's charities which have also run out of steam?

As someone who is always checking on what H&M do, I'm sure you are aware that Archewell has the everyday people testifying to what services they have offered to 40x40.

You may as well also watch SM, as I said, the tabloids are not interested in anything good that H&M do, so your information about their causes is limited. There are several people on SM who have said what they did for the project.

I am wondering what your problem is exactly with their causes, I am quite sure they are less than (and paid more attention to) than the RF patronages.

Travelyst is relatively new, so will need some start up capital. Travel industry all round has had setback due to Covid. It is not a profit making charity to top it off, but one that will need different governments and organisations to help - just like most environmental related causes. Being in the black at this point is a positive thing.

Harry raised one 3M for Sentebale, which will show in this year financial report. It will be spent as it should be.

I wouldn't quite say "daily", but it's true they're full of negativity (and not just about H&M) which is why I don't read them - nor Twatter come to that, though it's strange to see it regarded as some sort of authoritative source

However, as with all RF charities, what interests me isn't so much the upfront fluff about what's going to happen, more what's actually being done - so if you could quote some reputable source telling us what all those names who signed up to 40x40 are actually doing, that would be great

Twitter in itself is not the source, but the direct access to the actual people are, straight from the horse's mouth. As I have posted a few times.

Much against my better judgment I also googled and couldn’t find any update or even the 40 celebrities who apparently signed up . There are, however , several articles asking what is happening.

Perhaps if they find out they'll share the info with the rest of us Chablis ... ?

And I put up a couple of posts direct from people who showed what they did. This was a request from MM, these people are not employed and are not doing this as employees. So I don't see why you think MM should now chase them up with quick deadlines etc. Several people have come out to say what they could offer, some what they did, others what they received.

Who knows, the birthday request is not even a year old yet, so maybe they may contact some of the people who benefited and those who gave their time.

I am saying, the number of people taking it up is a success. I really do not consider these individuals to be liars.

Overall, I find it a useful endeavour than taking airbrushed pics of herself for her birthday.

Far from expecting Meghan to chase, I'd hope that loads of the stuff offered is being done by the volunteers themselves, and that somewhere - anywhere - there'd be some indication it's actually happening so we can assess for ourselves how successful it all is

And as I - and others- have said , if H is visiting HM he will automatically be protected by RF security : is that really so hard to understand?

What is hard to understand is that you think no one is going to figure that Harry may pop over to the UK. Now you are expecting him to come over to just only see his grandmother at Windsor or wherever only. Have no security to and from the airport - since it's not a work related visit.

Like, the airport route has to be the easiest target ever.
